Is this finally the year we make a big push for offense?
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to whorlnut's topic in The Stadium Wall
Did Marvin Lewis ever make it out of the first round of the playoffs? Lol that’s what he was fired for. McDermott made it to the afc championship game in what…year 4? -
Yea it’s too early for this…fire him now and then what? You promote one of the two coordinators that nobody likes? Lol if we miss the playoffs I’m all for starting to talk about this

Inside the 20 with a chance to win it two games in a row
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea I put the bucs game in a different category…titans/pats/jags we could not get it done in a one score game but this one we played well enough to win…Steelers game goes down as a one score game but it really wasn’t one -
They didn’t though 😂😂 we were down more at halftime and you are literally just completely ignoring an entire second half td drive… Or are you counting wrong? I don’t really understand what’s going on lol We lost the first half 24-3 and won the second half 24-3 with a ridiculous no call in the end zone late in the game that should have made it 28-3. That is an absolute drubbing that at the least is equal to how badly we played in the first half…and this scheme shift you’re using as an excuse for their coaches letting us back in the game is literally my point lol they blew a 21 pt lead in the second half and got bailed out of a loss by deus ex machina. Were they running a prevent offense too and trying to score the least amount of points possible to increase their chances of winning? Haha can’t imagine a 3 point second half was their benchmark. Clearly the defensive adjustments took off right away in the second half. Again if you wanna say maybe their coaches did a little better job…I wouldn’t have much of a problem with that. But this notion that we got laughably outcoached is 100% false. And the fact that you have to completely leave out an entire offensive possession from your argument should kind of tell you that lol

if josh Allen reaches Brady levels of popularity then yea maybe. I really only see Brady led teams getting lopsided officiating like that. The refs straight up win them games…this is not the first time this season this has happened for them so it’s certainly not an anti bills thing. Packers even got hosed against the bucs last year and Aaron rodgers is a big deal lol then we all saw the super bowl where the chiefs were just randomly not allowed to play in the secondary like they had been all season. I do think the chiefs dbs got away with a lot all year but you’re gonna let it happen all the way up to the superbowl where Tom Brady is on the other sideline huh 😂There’s definitely plenty of awful officiating to go around but usually over the course of a game it evens itself out…like the pats game we got screwed a few times but then we got a pretty soft late hit on josh Allen that I wouldn’t have called. it is absolutely mindboggling that we had 5 holding/dpi calls and they had 0 against the bucs though with all the obvious cr*p they got away with
-
Yea that’s the big story to me…like how can a team commit so many obvious holds/dpis yet win the penalty battle 5-0 in that category lol even if that late diggs end zone play was a tossup they very much owed it to us for the litany of other jersey pulls the bucs got away with. Of course it wasn’t a tossup at all mind you 🤣
-
You’re still leaving out 7 points in the second half to drive your point home huh 😂😂 bucs absolutely flubbed the second half and were bailed out…or we were great. Either way we outcoached them in my opinion. They had a chance to go up 3 scores again late and passed it up to go for it on 4th and got stopped…absolutely abysmal coaching in the second half by them they are lucky they got those Brady specials from the refs…but a win is a win for sure nothing against the ‘don’t blame the refs people’ …my general point is why is the first half so much more important than the second half in your view? They went to the cover 2 shell early and we lit it up and they had absolutely no answers. We took the points when we needed to and even that controversial punt ended up being the right decision. I’d think the second half would be the most important no? Half time adjustments are critical
-
Why are you ignoring the earlier td in the second half 😂😂also… ‘the bucs stopped blitzing and went two high vanilla after going up 17’…to prevent quick scores right? And what did we do…scored quick all second half loll aka poor coaching by the bucs you are openly admitting to. How on earth does saying the bucs made a coaching blunder prove your point that they were superior coaches
-
Not that we were trying to be ineffective on purpose by any means but I think some of the success of the second half is directly tied to things we were trying to set up in the first half What is this overwhelming sense around here that football games are over at halftime lol I just don’t understand it…we were up on the jets 10-0 and everyone in the game day thread is panicking omg we’re gonna lose to the jets 😂 halftime adjustments are the most important thing a coaching staff does. We absolutely wiped the floor with them in the second half
-
That’s not even a win assuming you know that the play is going to end in a horrible uncalled dpi which diggs has no way of knowing lol I’d take the opportunity to go for it on 4th and 2 over a 3rd and 17 with a longer fg try.
-
I think we outcoached them honestly…that’s why that game hurt. Fake punt was certainly a blemish but I think that’s offset by us absolutely torching them in the second half when they went into a shell to prevent quick scores…they also passed up a chip shot fg to go up three scores…just a lot of head scratchers over there
-
How we can better react to how the players react to penalties 😂
-
I don’t understand this take…diggs is wide open…Davis had to literally try to tackle him to save the game. Should you really have to plan on horrendous officiating and ignore a great one on one matchup that your best receiver easily won? I’ll second that I’ve been in a lot of penalty threads and this one is definitely different haha
-
I mean in the heat of the moment like that I’m not sure how much thought you get to put into how to make it most look like you’re getting held to be fair lol he doesn’t get to see himself from 37 broadcast angles. Shoving the defender when you know you’re due an obvious dpi call in a game where your team is getting no calls to begin with doesn’t make a lot of sense to me…in the moment how does he know he’s gonna be victimized by an awful no call…100% they’re calling OPI if he does that and he’s likely not catching the ball anyway
-
I think the hands up thing is a common move to show you’re being held and draw attention to it…I think it was more about davis doing such a pathetic job tripping on his own two feet and going to the ground diving at diggs jersey that ended up giving the refs ‘enough’ ammo to call it questionable and move on. It looked like diggs had to have something to do with davis falling when he very much didn’t
-
I think they are trying to sell it to us as ‘their feet got tangled’ so I’m not sure it would’ve mattered but maybe …I do agree it was a bizarre looking play that diggs beat his man so badly that the guy ripped at his jersey with both hands and still couldn’t bring him down. Defender is even stunned he got away with that one guaranteed
-
That play at the end of regulation was a little weird looking but there’s enough officials at enough angles where I’m sure they saw it properly and just swallowed their whistles to ‘not impact the game’ but that’s what they precisely ended up doing
-
For me it’s the intent of the defenders that makes me angry…we can harp on the fade call but diggs beat his man and Davis’ only hope was to drag diggs down with him and maybe save the game on a goal line stand. You can even see him pound his hand on the ground like sh*t I just blew the game. And that earlier jersey rip of diggs he beat everyone and was going to be open for a huge gain. People are talking like the defense was in a good position and it was a tossup call that didn’t go in our favor. These were all absolute desperation holds that I’m sure the defense was even surprised they weren’t called. In order to catch the ball? Pi absolutely should’ve been called there and you give away absolutely any hope of that if you do that…that’s insanity.
-
I’m not sure how you deal with dragging a defender with you that is holding you as obviously as possible haha that might literally be the worst no call I’ve ever seen…the one to end the game was bad also but Davis did a somewhat nice acting job to make it look like they tangled feet when really he just straight up lost a handcheck battle and then ripped diggs down by his jersey. That one doesn’t make me terribly mad until combined with the ridiculous OT call I’m not understanding what he’s trying to say…the bills should commit more penalties when the refs are only calling penalties on one team?
-
That would’ve made the call on Wallace even funnier assuming that still happens in OT. evans was dangerously close to offensive pass interference when Wallace had the ball played perfectly and a shot at a game winning int …Brady threw an absolutely terrible ball there and was bailed out big time. It’s really the combination of that no call on diggs and that Wallace call in OT that grinds my gears…how do both those calls go against the wrong team Are you talking about diggs or Wallace? I was talking about the first half diggs play where the defender stretched his jersey 20 yards lol the one late in the game was pretty awful as well but that first half play was criminal
-
Levi Wallace played that ball absolutely perfectly to avoid a penalty…it was an incredible play. Diggs lost the ball in the air I think when the defender started ripping his jersey off…the ball didn’t land in stride with him he got rerouted a bit it looked like. Not to mention that is the most obvious pass interference call in the history of the world that the defender clearly did intentionally to save a td and it is absolutely laughable it wasn’t called and twice as laughable we are trying to blame diggs for it. That play had the Robey-Coleman effect in my eyes…it was such a completely obvious PI that the fact that it wasn’t called led me to believe there was some obscure rule I did not know lol
