  1. Whenever hes reasonably covered I don't think I've ever seen him not push off lol I guess you get some special privileges playing with Brady they had a nice pushoff victory week 1 🤣
  2. Kind of a semantics thing but I'd say thats more being worried about the team than mac jones himself. He looks like he is the type of QB they need to be competitive with the defense they have but its impossible to say at this point if hes the 'i can put the team on my back and win' guy. i think cam was a tougher matchup for us last year than mac is going to be this year but overall mac is already a better qb than cam is if that makes any sense lol
  3. i guess it hasnt fully sunk in that we could have a good defense lol its very easy to cover 9.5 when youre giving up 10 points or less. not to mention daniel jones absolutely burned that defense running the football.
  4. Dline maybe but theyre iffy at every linebacker position and average in the secondary which is very different than the PIT or MIA defensive situation. Should be roastable over the middle....I hope? Lol
  5. Haha I didn't really make it clear enough 🤣 I agree with a lot of what you said but I dont think it has anything to do with his contract/him trying to hard. He just historically hasn't been good at the looks the defenses the first two weeks have been able to throw at us personell wise but really nobody is. Miamis defense is really not a great matchup for us but Brian Flores has put together laughable game plans up until Sunday that played right into Josh's strengths. We really could be seeing a better josh allen than last year he normally absolutely melts down in games like that like the chiefs game and the titans game last season
  6. Easy to say until you see what a JAG wouldve done that game lol coverage was tight...rush was coming quick even when we kept extra blockers in. 2019 Allen throws 3+ picks that game...Peterman throws 12 picks that game 🤣 I love how they sold the 'bringing in fitzpatrick as the closer at qb' as not being based on their low confidence in Tua loll I don't think Flores is a good coach...he did a lot with minimal talent but he hasn't done much more with a good amount of talent.
  7. I think 2020 josh looked much worse against a tough 4 man rush and the rest of the d in coverage and were already seeing a better josh than last year...people just don't realize it because they only care about stats and a qb is never allowed to miss an open receiver even though that consistently happens league wide especially early in the season lol the amount of teams that can pull that off personnel wise are slim and we just happened to face two of them in a row
  8. I agree with a lot of that but he has always done those things in the situations he has found himself in this season and he has been smarter with the football...that's literally my point 🤣 our pass blocking was solid for a lot of last season and it will likely be solid for a lot of this season but he hasn't had those games yet. We got absolutely spanked in games where we got whooped by 4 man rushes last season and this season we could be a blocked punt away from 2-0 against two solid teams because he's managed the games pretty well rather than melting down trying to carry the team. it's unknowable at this point but he could easily be ahead of last season and as a complete football team we could be considerably ahead of last season
  9. Lolll and they beat a team that looks like it's on pace to be absolutely atrocious Didn't he punt though? Nobody would've questioned going for it on 4th and 2 idk what yard line he punted from but it's likely he made the punt more difficult
  10. What qb has ever lit up the scoreboard when the defense could pressure him with 4 guys...not even the mighty 07 pats offense could do it...nor the chiefs offense last year. The dude has been in an extremely difficult situation the first two weeks and he's played ok. Idk how we can compare that to a season of games he played where most were in ideal circumstances last year and say hes regressed... its nuts. It's not his fault the offense couldn't play the jets week 1 this season
  11. His overall season stats last season are completely irrelevant...how did he do in games when he could get pressured by 4 rushers? He was pretty dreadful...every qb is. And in this season he's been mediocre.
  12. Did he not miss open receivers with time last year? Lol you've gotta keep one eye on your guys blocking at all times it is so much harder to get into a rhythm when your OL can get whooped at any time even with numbers and even the rare times you get good pass protection. You've gotta be able to trust those guys up front and he just doesn't...it is not even close to puzzling what is happening
  13. I dont see how you can say that two games in when the offensive line has been a sieve. Josh last year would've struggled just the same or more in these types of games. Kc and ten absolutely throttled him in the regular season last year
  14. This is a great point...people are comparing our start to last season stat wise and to me that's not really the best way to do it. The jets were absolutely atrocious week 1 last year and I would argue our offense was awful in that game regardless of what the stats say...we should've won that game by 100. His performance against the steelers was easily better than that but people only remember the L Loll he is though and he is likely playing even better...I know we normally dunk on Miami but they are a fringe top 5 defense talent wise and so is pit. There was no nyj to beat up on early in the season this year. Think about how he played against ten and kc during the regular season last year...he's facing defenses even better than that in the weeks of the season where offenses notoriously look a little sloppy. Flores has now seen Josh two more times since last season and he's got great players all over that defense
  15. I still think this is overblown...Josh played the steelers just about the same the last two years and the bills offense made some adjustments at halftime and stopped looking for big chunk plays downfield against the dolphins and he drastically improved. Oline is not holding up in 4 man rush situations it's not like he's missing protection shifts in exotic blitzes or anything. If we played the chiefs/titans back to back the first two weeks last year we'd be talking about how terrible allen is then too lol
  16. Our receivers were riddled with injuries the entire playoffs last season...I cringe every time someone tries to include those games in some kind of trend. We've gotta clean up the oline and holding penalties and if he still struggles then we can start to panic
  17. Lol a fluke year? The dude moved the football with literally 0 help on a talentless roster his rookie year and made progress in year two
  18. We like to run deep crosses down the field and our offensive line is playing like doo doo...trubisky wouldve gotten killed Chiefs game shouldn't count...our receivers were getting mugged and they were all horribly injured
  19. Yea im in the camp of we would have gotten absolutely stuffed if we ran the ball when it mattered and that's why you saw a lot of gimmicky nonsense on 4th and short lol there is really not much in the playbook for any team when you are getting absolutely whooped by a 4 man rush I'm surprised we moved the ball the amount that we did...just couldn't hit on any of those short yardage plays and it's easy with the power of hindsight to say run the ball there
  20. 2018 josh allen throws 3 ints that game... he was completely fooled by the Steelers presnap alignment and his offensive line couldn't block anyone and he still made plays. I think today's game was the first evidence in a long time where Josh allen didn't have to win the game single handedly and could've afforded to take some of the open underneath stuff/checkdowns without trying to consistently force the ball downfield and he looks pretty silly for not doing so...I kind of got the opposite impression of this game than a lot of other people it sounds like lol. Looked like he had lots of checkdowns that he passed up thinking he could avoid a 4 man rush long enough to hit something deep and it just wasn't necessary
  21. I'm interested in seeing the all22...my suspicion is the steelers masked some areas of the field they were vulnerable with their late shifting and allen had guys open all over the place underneath that he didn't even look at. I think qb user error was a lot of the reason for the 4wr and 5wr set performance lol I do think he fared much better than rookie allen wouldve though
  22. I cant say a qb rollout wouldn't have worked but does anyone really have any confidence that we could execute an effective screen pass that game. It relies on a ton of blocking and it's not like the steelers were running any man blitzes.
  23. Allen's gotta learn that sometimes less is more and you don't need to be looking downfield every play...not sure if the steelers defensive shuffling just before the snap was messing with that. Its impossible to blame him because he watched his defense get smoked pretty much every game last year and ironically in one of the games they shut down a great offense they gave up a hail mary TD to lose the game 🤣
  24. I think Josh should have more confidence in the defense after this game at least... after looking at the tape he'll see that they couldve easily won this game if they took some of those underneath throws. I have rarely seen someone so thoroughly carry a team on his back as he did last year and it's probably tough to shake that mindset that you need big chunk plays every drive because your defense couldn't stop a college team.
  25. Very true I think he has to be more willing to take those short gains...I will defend going 4 and 5 wide to the death when the steelers have two great dbs and a great front seven then a bunch of average dudes in the secondary after that though 🤣 I think daboll is taking some of the heat on this board that should be going towards allen because he called that horrifically executed hb pass on 4th down lol
