Yea plenty of ifs/missed chances by both teams. People are only talking about the plays the chiefs missed but we missed quite a few too. I think our gameplan changes a lot if Spencer brown plays too seemed like we were running a lot to slow their pass rush down if that 4th and 3 play was just a turnover on downs we would’ve had much better field position for the defense, missed the wide open shot to Morris, missed a few wide open throws. If we were 1/1 on 4th down the game would’ve felt a little closer to me but we rolled the dice twice and were successful once which is pretty normal.

Falling off that much missing one corner that’s not your lockdown guy is a depth issue and not an excuse imo. Odds are pretty good you’re gonna be missing a defensive player or two of that caliber. What gets real unlucky is when one of your super important players is one of those several guys injured or if you take a bunch of injuries in one position group

They didn’t really transform into a completely different team imo I just don’t get where that take is even coming from feels kind of like massive cope to me about the chiefs chances this year. Dropping mid 20s in points against the injury ravaged bills and dolphins defenses then completely shutting down Lamar and beating the ravens with 17 points wasn’t far off from how they were winning regular season games. lol I think there’s different tiers of ‘injury excuses’…the chiefs missing a corner that’s not even their best and getting exposed in the secondary is exponentially different than the bills losing so many linebackers that aj klein who had been chilling at home for months had to cancel a family rv vacation to start at MLB and missing their best corner on top of that. Literally not even debatable. just imagine a full strength bills team going against the chiefs down mcduffie,Bolton, tranquil and an extra linebacker of your choice and ask yourself honestly how that playoff game would’ve gone because that’s the chiefs equivalent of what happened to the bills 😂 wouldve been an absolute slaughter. Calling Milano/bernard/benford etc average players is pretty laughable. Terrell Bernard got all pro votes and Matt Milano was an all pro lol

Terrel Bernard Defensive Player of the Week!

Willingness to really dig in and study the game seems so undervalued by everybody haha I’d take a guy like that over somebody with all the physical tools that doesn’t do a lot of that any day it’s really pretty amazing there are guys that have that drive still after basically giving up their entire childhood to football -
Especially football with one game eliminations Lol the chiefs got away with like 10 obvious face masks and were holding like crazy too the fact that chiefs fans think a ‘let both teams play’ type game is them getting hosed by the refs speaks volumes. The refs definitely let a good amount go both ways I honestly can’t think of any huge unfair officiating issues in any of the bills chiefs games no matter who the winner was which frankly is kind of amazing given how bad refs are normally 🤣

Whoever started this thread didn’t hear the totally true story about Andy Reid losing huge regular season games on purpose lol
-
They’ve been unbelievably lucky for years I just can’t understand it other than Andy Reid sold his soul to the devil when he was on the doorstep of getting fired from his second team 🤣. Every bounce, every questionable call, every opponent injury situation always seems to fall their way. They seem to be paying the piper for the injury luck this year though but traded some future assets to rectify it
-
Those genius plays Andy Reid supposedly saved for the playoffs causing his team to blow the 1 seed and 2 seed in the regular season last year were so outrageously good that they just squeaked by an aj klein led defense lol such a hilarious cope. Bills are as good as the chiefs at minimum…just haven’t had that kc streak of luck in the playoffs yet and chiefs fans are now starting to realize it. Don’t think they’re handling it well 😂
-
3 games is way too small of a sample size to make these comparisons imo. The defense is always a wreck injury wise in the postseason. 13 seconds game we were starting Levi Wallace and Dane Jackson at corner, last year no benford and the Lb room was ravaged. Chiefs would light us up in the regular season under those same circumstances.
-
I still don’t think people realize how ridiculous almost beating the chiefs missing your best corner and with the ghost of aj klein leaving his couch to get all the MLB snaps is lol
-
2-5 in their last 7 against us with a playoff loss will rewrite the script a lot imo if it were to happen

The Athletic power ranking: Bill's #2

They sneak by pretty good or better teams. We rarely ever get blown out…it’s gonna be a close game and I would pick Allen over Goff every single time in that situation -

I’m surprised how quickly people have forgotten that he pretty much coached them right out of the nfc championship tbh. He went full meathead at the most important time -

The NFC just doesn’t have any marquee matchups now that the niners aren’t what they once were. Lions don’t play chiefs or eagles or ravens, haven’t played the bills yet, got the Texans whose offense was completely suspect missing Nico and diggs. maybe Vikings lions was a big game? I don’t even know -
Yes follow those links like you’re gonna bet and it won’t let you because the timeframe ended. I think this was some preseason futures bet on individual games that probably expired before the season started. It’s too early for actual opening lines. I think it was Vegas insider I went through and that line says last updated 8/25 if they posted lines this early and then Brock purdy got injured or something with a bunch of bets already placed things would get messed up lol
-
The bills had a weird scheduling anomaly where two of their three tough road games came back to back early in the season and nearly all their road divisional games were early. I don’t think the length of the hypothetical win streak on paper makes it any less likely to come true in this case because of that. The schedule was kind of set up for a long win streak assuming we beat the chiefs usually teams have that kind of stuff more spread out so a long win streak is tougher
-
Yea I was gonna say this lions hype is out of control. Barring any major injuries I think the bills defense has the guys now to make Jared Goff look similar to what the Texans did to him. Lions are always gonna be a qb away imo. Someone in their playoff run is gonna be able to turn back the clock on Goff and make him look like late stage rams Goff
-
That sounds like some kind of offseason futures bet for this game and not what the actual odds will be.. I don’t think the niners will be the favorite when the odds go up a week in advance. And if somehow that is legit that’s the worst line of the year 🤣 I did some googling and I think I found what you’re talkin about and those odds say last updated 8/29
-
If the bills beat the niners which I fully expect after a bye at home, I think the chiefs are gonna start to feel very uncomfy
-
Idk what we even could’ve done with the guys we had available lol. Vs Detroit with Milano and Bernard back(Both missed the Baltimore game) we’ve got the option to roll with three linebackers if we want. Our linebacker situation was dismal against Baltimore who’s probably the worst team to have that happen against so there was no real way to get an extra linebacker on the field and to top it off taron Johnson missed the whole game and rapp missed a half. It was an absolute mess. We were basically forced into playing nickel because cam Lewis who was playing bad at the time was a much better option than adding Morrow who was horrible
-
It’s still a heck of an accomplishment before we even get to the possible playoff game imo. The Chiefs have lost three games since December 10th,2023 (16-3 .840 win pct) and two of them were to the bills. Even if you don’t want to focus on just the chiefs, that win was absolutely massive with regards to building a bit of a cushion between us and Baltimore and for potential tiebreaker situations with the Steelers if that division goes another way. An absolutely enormous win that meant a lot
-
It’s an everything league lol. A lot of these teams that go on runs have great defenses too. The conference finals last year had the number 1,2, and 3 top defenses in points allowed per game in the regular season and the top 7 were all playoff teams with 5 making it through the wildcard round (Steelers played another team in the top 5 so one was losing there no matter what lol). This year if you do a points allowed per game sort 10 of the top 11 teams you see are playoff teams with Washington not being far outside that and Houston id say has a very good defense so points allowed isn’t really telling the full story for them id be curious to look at it by dvoa but it looks like you’ve gotta pay to get the more specific info now 🤣
-
A lot of this win was our guys winning one on one matchups against supposedly unstoppable players…obviously anything can happen and it’s a one game elimination structure which keeps everything exciting haha but i really don’t see many reasons why the chiefs won’t have even more of an uphill battle in the playoffs. With cam Lewis shutting down Kelce without much help and Torrence holding up against Chris jones I really don’t know what magical plays can possibly even exist that really turn the tables in the rematch. Chris jones was covering up a lot of deficiencies on their defense by being absolutely unstoppable up until this point. the way I see it 2020 afc championship the chiefs were definitely the better team, the 13 seconds game truly was a coin flip pun intended, and I really think we’ve pulled a bit ahead but were hamstrung by a ton of defensive injuries in the playoffs last year

Can we talk about Beane and Oline?
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to No_Matter_What's topic in The Stadium Wall
The chiefs have blown so many different attempts to improve both tackle positions too lol that feels like a big reason why they no longer exist in their own tier anymore
