I didn't follow the game threads but I'll assume people were losing their **** in the first half.

I peeked for a little while running errands and everyone wanted Frazier fired after that first touchdown drive 😂. Bears offense didn’t do much of anything after that it seems but I’ve gotta watch the game still

    UA base layer 4.0

    Smart wool

    Double lined thermals

    Over sized single ply thermals

Water proof pants/Carhartt bib freshly waxed & oiled

On top, no hoody and top layer under coat a turtle neck. Wear a hooded coat with smart wool hat baklava and a knit hat over it.

Socks people ***** up and put too many on  which cuts off blood flow. Wood socks, cotton blend for 2nd layer in oversized muck boots.

    Gloves with mittens over them.

You won't get cold and that set up costs about $400-500

I made that sock mistake in the bills pats playoff game last year lol never again.  All the other layering stuff ain’t bad but footwear gets tricky because that concrete gets soooo cold

A lot of people knew right away that Pat Mahomes and Josh Allen would never cut it. Like me! I'll admit my bad takes on both of them. I don't blame the Jets for taking a QB with elite arm talent but rough around the edges. Lately that has been the recipe for success in the draft.

If anything I think Wilson's attitude has sunk him more than his talent. He's lost the locker room and he doesn't take accountability for his failures. Ryan Fitzpatrick on the post game show last night had this to say:

"Even when Josh Allen wasn't playing well in his rookie season, the guys in that locker room would die for him."

So it sounds like the Jets made the same mistake the Cardinals did when they drafted Josh Rosen - they scouted the player but not the person. To be a franchise QB you need both.

I think a lot of it is a work ethic and drive to better themselves issue with a lot of these qb busts.  They’ve all got nfl talent level physical skills so it’s really the willingness to put in the extra work in film study and whatnot that ends up making the difference.  Some guys seem way more willing to do that than others.

for some it seems they’ve played football their whole life and finally got payed so they take their foot off the gas a little.  That all ties into why josh Allen was so liked in the bills locker room

A qb taken @ 2 vs a qb taken @ 10-  idk…. Being terrible is being terrible-  the greater investment means bigger bust imo

Josh Rosen had 0 help so I’d lean Zach Wilson as bigger bust.  The 2022 jets is one of the best situations a top 10 pick qb has gotten a chance to play on.

And likely would have been 16-1 if it wasn’t:

    — 500 degrees in Miami earlier this season

    — Historic wind event during MNF against the Patriots* last season

Crazy our offensive line was decimated for most of both Miami games.  I don’t think the heat would’ve mattered if we had some of our olinemen available in the first matchup

Sorry if this came off as grouchy.  It's been gnawing at me for a while and for some reason I just feel in the mood to air grievances today.

I think we have strategically stayed in nickel a few games when teams were running on us and I def wouldn’t say we’re bad overall against the run yet.    Back in the first jets game days we were missing one of Milano/edmunds (can’t remember which) and we’d have to sub taron Johnson out to have two pretty bad linebackers on the field at the same time.

against Miami you’ve gotta respect  tyreek/waddle which I’m sure kept us in the nickel.  There’s a pretty interesting connection between the jets/dolphins/packers coaching wise…maybe this is a bit conspiracy theory but I think those three teams’ offensive coordinators talked when working on their own game plans lol.  The jets OC is Matt lafleur’s brother and Mike McDaniel is good friends with Matt Lafleur also.

  7. My dream of the dolphins missing the playoffs after all that hype they got took a hit today 😂. On the flip side if they miss still they are way into historically epic collapse territory lol they’d have to finish with 5 losses out of 6 probably

Watched it again. It's pretty obvious to say - but that game easily could have gone the other way.  The D got the big stops when it counted, and Allen showed once again that he has the clutch gene w/ 2 very crucial late drives.

Re: Cam Lewis - it's easy to criticize the mistakes he has made. Those always stand out, because there are no highlights or game-turning moments for "solid" play, which is what he generally gives us.  He's a good player.  Roughing the punter was a bad mistake, but it's easy to forget after 1) we won the game, and 2) the Pats/Raiders game the next day.

It’s all injuries vs the dolphins.  That defense is garbage.  They would’ve gotten torched both games if we weren’t forced to play van roten at center for 4 of the 8 quarters against them.  It easily could’ve gone the other other way and been a buffalo blowout 😂

Say what you will, but when Allen released the ball vs. Minny I thought TD as there was no need to throw in the endzone as still lot's of room to work with and options (was second down).  Then to see it no where close to a receiver and a simple int I was flabbergasted.

We all are Allen fans, but that second half and the mistakes were just terrible.

Of course would have been moot if either he doesn't fumble at the goal line or (and yes I'm throwing Diggs under the bus, because of the play and a drop) Allen's perfect pass to him on third & 15 with 3:40 left was caught (would have pretty much ended the game).

Give the Bills defense credit on the Mahomes int, good pressure, great int.

Oh yea they were both bad mistakes…but I’d take a bad throw over a big time mental error personally though.  Davis had a step and Harrison smith got pulled by the inside route so there was a ton of room to get the ball for a td or at the very worst an incompletion. it really wasn’t a bad read by any means.   Also Allen hit knox on a perfect pass the previous play that he certainly could’ve made a play on.  I think josh gets SOME goodwill back for the fg drive to tie it up late too (despite gabe getting away with that drop)

idk I’m not that high on that mahomes play.  He sees the route isn’t there and double pumps the ball and the pressure is coming so he’s like ehhh let’s just throw it anyway.  It wasn’t like taron jumped the route out of nowhere, mahomes completely telegraphed it.  If pressure is an excuse for bad qb play then josh gets way more points added than mahomes because our offensive line is poop 😂

certainly not trying to minimize Josh’s mistakes…he made too many in that second half.  But mahomes blew that bills game every bit as much as Allen blew the Vikings game imo

I think the run defense was so bad because the defense sold out to stop the pass. They refuse to leave that Nickle package.

Looked like oliver and Milano were playing hurt also…Miami has really benefitted from buffalo injuries this year.  Idk how they can allow an 8 point comeback to a team with van roten playing center lol

Yes but compared to the Viking second half/ot, doesn't compare.  The Int at the end of the KC game was a great defensive play and pressure. Josh's ints vs. Minny were just outright bad (and then there was the fumble).

I don’t think the mahomes game ending int against buffalo was any better...honestly I think it was worse.    Davis was open on a post on that ot pick vs Minnesota and Allen just missed the throw badly.  It really wasn’t a bad read he just threw the ball like sh*t and it was way behind Davis.  I’m sure it was at least partly due to his banged up elbow.  An overwhelming majority of the time that’s an incompletion or a td.

mahomes’ pick he held the ball way too long to make that throw…it wasn’t a good decision and if you’re gonna double clutch a throw like that there’s a good chance the defense is gonna jump the route.  Once he pumped you’ve gotta eat that sack or try to throw it away.

  12. 20 minutes ago, Billsfan1972 said:

Because those would have been considered "team" losses, vs. 3 very bad mistakes that will be pinned on Allen.

Plus the narrative that he has done it with a new receiving core and loss of Hill.

Not saying it is right, but the National Media doesn't like to throw Mahomes under the bus.

I don’t think the mvp voters get too into individual game performances like that but if they did josh did blow that Vikings second half sure,  but he also pulled off quite a few impressive comebacks against good teams where he put the team on his back.  KC has kind of been bumbling along just edging out bad teams

If buffalo and kc both win out, I’d expect mvp to go to josh assuming he plays well.  He will have a win over just about every team in the afc playoff picture and he will be likely leading his team in rushing. Not sure how much this effects things but hurts might miss a couple games down the stretch here; I’d expect him to sit week 18 with the 1 seed locked up and he could miss the Dallas game due to injury

Let’s be honest this award has become a who puts up the best stats as a QB award, it’s no longer MVP. To think that it’s not is naive. When you look at the stats Mahomes has a sizable advantage over the other 2, it’s his award to lose and I’m not sure there’s enough time for either guy to catch him

This is true and it’s stupid haha if josh had mahomes’ offensive line he’d win mvp easily.  It’s honestly pretty crazy he has been 95% as effective as mahomes with an exponentially worse offensive line.

  14. A lot of it is injury related…like everything else this year lol.  It’s pretty normal to be down an offensive linemen but since we were down boettger and bates too, van roten gets forced to play center when Mitch morse gets hurt. We were doing a great job against miamis front 7 before morse went down…it felt like josh had all day to throw the whole first half

couple that with the fact that there just aren’t many good offensive linemen coming out of college anymore.

Most qbs drafted early get picked by horrible teams and I’m like hmm maybe in the right situation they would’ve developed.  Zach Wilson is definitely not in that situation 😂. The 2022 jets are one of the best situations for an early qb draft pick.

Honestly it’s obvious that refs do affect the outcomes of games sometimes.  The NFL has worked to make every game close, so any one score game is potentially one bad call away from being affected.  Doesn’t always happen but I’ve seen plenty of close games where a 20 point swing can be attributed to 2-3 horrible calls.

does everyone remember our playoff game v the Texans, where their return guy caught the ball in the end zone then dropped it, and we recovered for a TD?  Some random nfl employees came on the field and took the TD away without an explanation.   The NFL changed the rule that off-season. Eliminating the need to kneel down, because of that play.  Clearly cost us 7 points in a playoff game.  There were other obnoxious calls in that game that all benefited the Texans.

I have no idea what the fish fans are complaining about, it seems fairly fair this game but the few things I notice- 2 chop block no calls against Milano - McKenzie a catch they ruled wasn’t - those were the most obvious ones I thought that were missed and they helped the fish.

Watching our teams play I do get the feeling their coaching staff is doing more with less.  They will be a force to recon with but luckily we have Josh allen and they don’t.

Seems like people disregard defense entirely from the convos like this I’ve had about the dolphins in this thread 😂.  On offense they’re doing about the same as us  with the same talent level…josh is certainly better than tua but they are way ahead at wr2 and our banged up offensive line hasn’t been as good.

On defense though, man they are doing a lot less with pretty similar ish defensive talent

To be honest there's some truth to this post with some of these points.

This division is everything (and more) that a lot of pundits felt the AFC West would be this year. And it's still very possible that the current window slams shut after this year which adds to the pressure of getting to and winning a SB right now.

Obviously nobody has crystal ball and things could change dramatically between Feb and next fall but have to expect the Dolphins and Jets to improve even further in the offseason. Patriots are a true wildcard because of Belichik's future hanging in the balance. But overall the Bills are in the toughest spot from a cap standpoint and will have a lot of challenges improving the roster and addressing the current holes, let alone preventing a major falloff due to pending FA departures and roster cuts.

There’s 0 truth to it.  This division being close for awhile was a mirage created by scheduling.  We had all our road division games before playing any home ones and Miami didn’t hit their difficult stretch of schedule until the end of the season and went 0-3 in that stretch.  This is as comfortable of a division lead as we’ve ever had.

Miami got lucky against us twice with our offensive line being ravaged by injuries or we would’ve blown them out both times. They are at the end of a rebuild after mortgaging a ton of resources on tyreek hill.  Their team is just not set up well to compete with the bills long term.  the jets are more on the right track but they have a ton of question marks also.  Miami is a one year wonder unless they have a huge defensive shakeup

what evidence is there that the bills are going to trail off? We were missing just about every high impact player on the defensive side for a big chunk of the season and we were still winning games.

seems like people are under the false assumption that Miami/NYJ can continue to make these big splashes in the offseason and they really can’t.  Miami traded a ton for hill/Chubb and lost a first rounder from tampering.  Both those teams will draft later than they have been too.  It’s really more about what coaching staff can develop talent and seeing as the dolphins have ran a talented defense straight into the ground I don’t have much faith in them in that regard

Check out some of their sour grapes on twitter. It is unbelievable. All one sided of course. Oh well, it sucks to be them.

I haven’t seen a single actual nfl analyst say that play was controversial so they’re really reaching on this one 😂. It is still absolutely baffling because Kohou 100% irrefutably held on the same play and got called for that too.  We would’ve had a first down if the dpi was called or not

the dolphins are the 2021 pats…beat us once mostly due to external factors,  played us pretty tough once and lost, struggled against quality opponents down the stretch coughing up the division lead, and will likely be stomped by us in the first round of the playoffs if they make it

    1. This is year one for Mike as a Coach and he already ahead of Sean Mc Dermott
    2. Our Dline and pass rush barring major injuries is going to be elite. Chubb will come along
and Phillips is going to be a Probowler
    3. Tua and thw WR units are only going to get better in this system
    4. Wilson and Monstert are going to be a major running attack combo that even our coach can not ignore.
    5. Defense will not have the rash of injuries to secondary like this year.
    6. Josh Allen is going to wear his body down as he keeps running and abusing it.
    7. If Buffalo does not get to the Superbowl this year they will drop off.
    8. We will find a way to get everyone paid by letting Gesicki and Jones walk
    and over restructring.
    9. We were one game out of the division even with our QB out 3.5 games
    10. Tua can play in the snow and heat."

"We're the better team with the better coach and the better WRs and the better QB. Said it all season and offseason too. Bills are very lucky and I'm not sure how they've won 11 games but then the vikings win every week and they're average so go figure"

We had a third string guard playing center against them for 4 quarters across both matchups and we got lucky? Lol they would’ve gotten blown out both games if that didn’t happen.

McDaniel is a great offensive coordinator but he’s not a head coach.  They are last in points allowed in the AFC and have a whopping one net point despite being loaded with playmakers on both sides of the ball

You will when Josh gets clocked and is out with an injury. I have no issues with him scrambling or an occassional designed run. But Dorsey is using him as much as Dabs. With how bad the pass blocking has been,  josh running the football is protecting him if anything.  Lots of rib injury/concussion injury potential when you’re taking a hard hit on a sack which is why the nfl has been so aggressive with enforcing roughing the passer rules.

While it's great to see the Patriots struggle and lose a game in such an absurd manner, I'm still not writing off Mac Jones after having one of the best rookie seasons ever and showing he can be a big time player in this league.

But you do get the sense that we are nearing the end of the Belichik era and any hope Jones does have of taking the next step is contingent on bringing in a fresh perspective to the Patriots organization (i.e. a real NFL OC) that understands how to build an offense that can compete with the leagues best QBs, including the Bills and JA17.

It is completely clear that mac was carried by a strong running game/defense and they were able to make the playoffs thanks to an easy schedule.  Their offensive line regressed a bit and the whole team has now completely fallen apart
