  1. Could be they don’t play it but I think they’re trying to ensure people understand the priority is hamlins health right now. I wouldn’t say this is proof that they aren’t going to finish the game
  2. The medical response was absolutely without a doubt top notch and that is the only important thing at the end of the day. I have no interest in vilifying the nfl when I talk about what happened behind the scenes with the decision to suspend the game but if it was in fact a coaches decision I really want to see Zac Taylor and McDermott get their due.
  3. I remember aikman saying something like they were trying to get him loaded into the ambulance and the 5 minute announcement was made but then they could not get him in the ambulance at that time. He said it in a way that implied it actually happened but he absolutely could have misspoke
  4. I’m a little confused but I want to trust him…multiple ESPN commentators said that announcement was made. Maybe a ref amidst the chaos was informing teams of the standard ambulance protocol?
  5. I would be very happy if this is true…even SVP and the ESPN commentators were saying the 5 minute announcement was made though so I’m curious who that all is getting sourced from. I admittedly can’t remember if they said they were seeing it from tweets or not though.
  6. not that I disagree with your overall points but the players having to push back is pretty serious as far as public perception goes imo if that’s in fact the case. I just have trouble believing the nfl officials weren’t in contact with the head office informing them Hamlins heart had to essentially get restarted on the field and asking what they should do before that ‘be ready to play in 5 minutes’ announcement. Of course the nfl may clear up the timeline of who said what to who etc. To me it’s more likely than not at this point that the game would’ve gone on if both coaches didn’t pull their players off the field but we are still in the early aftermath of this where things tend to get exaggerated.
  7. I don’t see how even a twitter troll can blame Higgins on that one…won’t stop them from trying though of course
  8. Is it from anyone reputable? Diggs ubered to the hospital and I doubt they’d leave him behind
  9. They’ll continue the game imo…bills will probably fly back out there. Maybe they’ll push the bills pats Sunday game back a bit.
  10. I’d normally agree…but how often has a player gotten his jersey cut off and received an AED and had cpr performed for 8 minutes. There is just not really any precedence for this situation in football…even including the grisly neck injuries. This was on another level entirely even a minute or two slower response and Hamlin could’ve died on the field…this was an absolute crisis situation
  11. It might not be as bad as some are making it sound, but the head office absolutely was consulted and told the player was down on the field getting cpr and it took them quite a bit of time to call the game at best (for the nfl). They still come out looking pretty bad even with maximum benefit of the doubt imo
  12. The reports of ‘the coaches/players had to stop the nfl from continuing the game’ seem to be slowly transitioning from rumor towards fact. I take reporters on twitter with a grain of salt but there are a lot of them claiming they have sources indicating that is the case. definitely can’t claim it’s a fact yet though and everything does tend to get exaggerated in the moment
  13. This is a wild guess but I think the bills were prepared to forfeit if needed so they started packing up their stuff first and Zac Taylor may have agreed to postpone the game. Maybe the nfl left it up to the coaches or the coaches straight up decided they weren’t playing on their own so the nfl needed to come out with a statement that matched Something definitely seems off here with the NFL’s response
  14. I don’t believe that’s the same thing…they put you under so they can put the breathing tube in. It’s a normal practice
  15. Yea that’s probably true and it takes time to coordinate with the nflpa and come out with a statement too
  16. They were probably giving themselves a chance to hear if they were able to stabilize damar in the hospital. Not saying that was the right thing to do but it’s my best guess.
  17. I have a feeling the nfl left it up to the coaches and McDermott offered to forfeit and Zac Taylor said no we’re not playing either. I hope we find out if that ends up being the case because that would be a very classy move
  18. It might be the league was trying to continue the game and both coaches threw up their hands and said heck no. We just don’t know yet
  19. I am absolutely no doctor but it looks and sounds like commotio cordis which there’s a few examples of in the sports world
  20. His heart stopped which caused him to fall the second time is my best guess…not that my opinion matters at all
  21. Not that it’s any time to think about this but a tie is essentially a loss so I doubt the players would want that…not that it will be left up to them necessarily anyway. Hoping that they push everything a week but I would be pleasantly shocked if the nfl made a decision like that my guess is they’re giving themselves a chance to be able to announce that Hamlin is stable and they’ll think about continuing tonight if that’s the case but if not they’re going to push it until tomorrow
  22. If we had Milano/edmunds and poyer out there I don’t think the jets would’ve scored a point. They just picked on Bernard all game. It was a pretty cheesy win for them and clearly wasn’t sustainable. On top of that Zach Wilson made some average throws which takes a bit of luck too 😂
  23. I haven’t seen really any evidence that tua is a big qb upgrade over bridgewater honestly. Tua is just frequently injured when they draw a tough defensive matchup. He did all his damage against pretty bad teams. they’ve gotten very lucky playing extremely injured teams too so I’d say the tua injuries evened out their luck. The ravens/bills games were definitely losses if those teams were a little bit healthier. And at some point it’s a reflection on the dolphins organization for trying to build around an injury prone qb so it doesn’t make a lot of sense to use tua injuries as an excuse
  24. Looked like a huge hold on that td 😁
