Bills would’ve equally shredded cincy too…the bills oline was absolutely dominating. The bengals oline was holding like crazy. I don’t think anyone is arguing the bengals would’ve moved the ball though. That was headed for a shootout. -

They get tons of pi calls when they’re on offense too so it’s a double whammy -

Is there any way to tell how the owners voted? Seems like the cincy coaches are pretty displeased I’m curious if their owner voted in favor of the rule changes -

I hope it’s there to make these chiefs fans even angrier lol. Pitt is much closer to buffalo -
I honestly don’t think the chiefs have anything to be pissed about…unless they have a crystal ball and could’ve guaranteed the bills were going to lose the bengals game. That’s where the chiefs fans are coming from with being pissed and it’s ridiculous imo. Both teams were easily moving the ball and the bengals had an extra possession. Bills definitely could’ve double dipped before/after halftime and picked up 14 points so even a 14-3 lead would not have been any type of panic situation. if there was no freak injury, the game was going to continue, and you offered Andy Reid this same deal early in the first quarter he would take it every single time. They traded a very sizable chance at no bye/no home field advantage for the 1 seed nearly guaranteed and all they gave up was a couple specific potential iterations of the AFC championship being played at a neutral site. If the bills don’t make it, the chiefs got the one seed/bye/home field advantage for free. and if they truly believe cincy is that much better of a team than us that our loss the other night was guaranteed, they have nothing to worry about at all most likely. We’re all probably going to win and then we would get cincy in the divisional round and lose and it will be business as usual in arrowhead if cincy is the better team
-
When I read that bit you’re responding to I think they meant it as more of a probabilistic statement like ‘what are the odds this freak injury happens to the same player twice’. I don’t think you’re at an any higher or lower risk of recurrence after going through this once. (Assuming he makes a full recovery)
-
They nearly have both anyway with virtually zero risk of losing them lol. And a buffalo kc afc championship which may or may not even happen is at a neutral site it’s not like it’s in buffalo. I just don’t understand where you’re coming from. If you flipped the situation kc fans would be pissed we were getting the bye when they had the edge in the 1 seed and an act of god canceled a game. Even more pissed than they are right now I’d wager you have chosen to say the actual winning argument isn’t relevant when it very much is 😂. It has nothing to do with anyone else not understanding anything. If you flipped a coin to decide the winner of the game and we win it, kc would’ve been pissed that they lost the 1 seed because of a coin.
-
I have flipped the situation and I/chiefs fans would see it as a bills gift too if we were the recipient of their situation. They got a free half game boost and the bills now have a very small chance of getting home field/a bye. And the alternatives were forcing them to play twice the amount of games as everyone else in the last week or so of the season or everyone but buffalo and cincy gets an extra bye week. All profit for kc…they benefitted big time from this situation

We would’ve been in the driver seat for the 1 seed before kc and Denver was canceled, that’s a completely different scenario. If we were a half game back from the 1 seed when the bills bengals game was canceled, there’s no way the nfl would be considering this. Also we didn’t play Denver this year. You’ve got the optics of both buf and cincy beating kc this season at play too. They should honestly be pretty thankful, if the nfl forced us to play this game it would’ve been awful optics wise but there’s a pretty good chance the chiefs would’ve lost the bye and home field advantage. That was a 50/50 game at worst even with the way it was going for the cincy offense. Josh Allen with good pass blocking and a running game is pretty much unstoppable. The cincy RT situation is an absolute timebomb…I think it would’ve been a shootout with a few big sacks of joe burrow late. Their oline was holding like crazy that first drive and a half
-
A straight beat down? Lol that was going to be a close game for sure. Idk what’s with fans overreacting to the first couple drives…even our own fans 😂. We give up a decent amount of points in the first quarter of games then the defense really stiffens up as the game goes on. And on the offensive side, when we can run the football we are pretty much unstoppable. Our offensive line was whooping their banged up defensive line. That game was almost certainly headed for 14-10 at the end of the first quarter
-
The bills and bengals knew the consequences and made the right decision not to continue the game anyway. If they tried to give the bills a loss I might be closer to agreeing with you. Both teams made sacrifices and showed an incredible amount of class in a terrible situation and the NFL is doing its best to continue the season. I think it would be cruel if they forced the bills to continue that game honestly
-
Do you happen to know what tiebreaker it is? The ESPN playoff machine has cincy as the 2 seed if that’s the case but it could be a quirk with strength of victory because the final game obviously doesn’t have a winning margin associated with it yet
-
Sounds like they want to play if you heard the press conference from today…they want to go out and win it for damar. If they didn’t get the good news we heard today things would certainly be different
-
Yea we were blitzing a lot though and we would not have continued blitzing if our guys were just getting held and nothing was being done about it. So it’s pretty hard to extrapolate that offensive drive and a half from the bengals into a full game. The defensive philosophy absolutely would’ve changed. Our defense always improves as the game goes on too I think it would’ve been a shootout with the refs continuing to swallow their whistles on holds on the OL and the bengals are more likely to give up a big sack/turnover. I still liked our chances…our oline was steamrolling them and we must’ve had some faith in the defense to not go for that 4th and 3. It’s impossible to say though. I don’t see cincy navigating their way through the afc playoffs…they’re loaded at the skill positions but pretty weak in the trenches due in large part to some key injuries. I’d be more worried about kc still who is much stronger in the trenches. They’re both good teams though no question
-
We were testing their patchwork oline and winning imo but not getting the calls. The bengals oline was holding like crazy. Either we would’ve started going home as the game went on or Frazier would’ve gone away from the blitz…either way that game was gonna change. It’s impossible to predict what would’ve happened though of course.

I’ve been trying to explain to my buddies who are not bills fans the difference between a tie and a no contest as far as playoff seeding goes and it would be wild if the chiefs and raiders tie making that a huge deal
-
If going 0-4 against the 49ers,chargers,bills, and packers is a foregone conclusion that can be excused as easily after the fact as you are making it sound, you need to fire your coach. If they weren’t playing a third place schedule, that would’ve added even more matchups against playoff caliber teams that they would’ve lost if they are expected to lose games like that. Also, they got lucky running into quite a few very injured teams themselves so their injury excuse isn’t as strong as you think imo. First bills matchup and the ravens game were definite losses for them if we are normalizing team’s injury situations. Bengals game tua was struggling just as much or more so than bridgewater did in the second half. I’d give them the Vikings win and pats win but take away the bills and ravens win and they’d be right back where they started. Tua would’ve absolutely struggled against the jets it’s a monumental collapse finishing 0-6 when you need just one more win to make the playoffs id assume most of the firing talk is based on them wanting their Sean Payton and Brady plan again though and not so much them thinking McDaniel is an bad coach.
-
I doubt it, unless they let him take tyreek and waddle with him for free lol. Someone would probably give him a chance but it’s far from a guarantee The dude is massively underperforming with a fringe superbowl caliber roster I don’t understand why people can’t see that. Even if you swap tua for prime Brady, that defense that’s loaded with talent still can’t stop anybody. If McDaniel got hired by someone else he would 100% be going to a team with significantly less talent than this dolphins team he has won 8 games with
-
I don’t mean to brag but I predicted all of this in the offseason 😂. Big step forward for their offense and big step backwards for their defense which would end up with the same results if I had to guess, there was a battle between Flores and the gm/owner about his treatment of tua even though Fitzpatrick was clearly the better qb. i don’t think they’ll end up firing McDaniel, I’m assuming they’d let him scapegoat the DC first. But it’s hard to say because they were 8-3 and nearly all the teams competing for the wildcard imploded. They only needed to go 1-5 down the stretch to make the playoffs and if they can’t do that some tough questions need to be asked.
-
It really is pretty pathetic…idk why this constantly gets overlooked. The average fan seems to only care about offense. If he gets fired that is going to be why. That defense is loaded with playermakers and I’m having trouble thinking of a defensive depth chart of that quality performing this badly ever. Flores never made it to the end of the rebuild but if you gave him chubb, armstead,Connor Williams, and tyreek hill I’m certain he would’ve won more than 8 games in a 17 game season no matter who the qb was
-
He absolutely did not the first game. That bills roster in the second half of that game was one of the worst squads fielded by anyone in the league due to all the injuries and they barely hung on to a 2 point win. We were missing like 13 starters by that point. Second game is debatable…I’m not sure if he ‘outcoached’ us or our players had a bad night tackling. either way, he’s a good offensive coordinator at best. Mcdaniel has done the anti-Flores and improved the offense but absolutely torpedoed the defense which has resulted in the same results Flores used to get with a much less talented roster
