  1. It definitely matters…none of the receivers ever located the football…I’ve never seen anything like it. It was an absolute moonshot. people saying ‘we almost lost’ when not a single receiver anywhere near the football knew it was coming is making me chuckle looked like Godwin got completely surprised by it as it whizzed past him
  2. Looked like he got a lot of single coverage looks in the second half…can’t blame the team for going to your best player in those situations. If the refs weren’t in ‘let’s keep this a game’ mode, diggs probably gets some of those holding calls I’d agree that under center goal lines runs are probably less successful but not sneaking it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Seemed like op was makin the point that an under center non sneak is just as bad if not worse than a shotgun run
  3. Taron defended that play you’re talking about quite well it was just a great throw/catch. this Hail Mary criticism is laughable…no one on the field knew where the ball was because baker had to arc it 100 miles in the air since it was out of his range but we’re gonna continue this charade that we were close to giving up a td because it landed a few feet away from a receiver that never saw it? margin of error didn’t seem thin tonight, the ball bounced the bucs way every chance it got and we gave them two free first downs on 4th down yet the closest they came to winning was a 60+ yard pass that literally no one even attempted to make a play on
  4. If you didn’t see this game as an improvement over the previous two I just don’t know what to tell you. The bucs defense is better than the giants and pats considerably and we got a lot of players involved on offense and let the bucs run themselves right out of the game
  5. He might be talking about the penalties in the second half…they were absolute killers. We threw away a ton of good field position with ST penalties punting was outstanding
  6. They weren’t playing cincy kc or philly…this is honestly the craziest argument lol if they were playing those teams they probably go for it
  7. Ah my mistake then back to 0 excuses…I don’t even know what’s cute about a shotgun run on the goal line lol it’s not like it’s super creative or anything. Like a toss play to the outside under center is cuter than that and probably has an exponentially better chance of working
  8. Evans pushed off big time on that play too and no call haha that’s really my argument for punting late…a ton went the bucs way and the closest they could conceivably come to winning with that bad field position most of the second half was a 1/1000 Hail Mary attempt where nobody even knew where the ball was
  9. If anyone blew it tonight it was those holding penalties on the special teams and nobody will criticize it cuz of the punting/aggressiveness controversy haha offense was dominating the field position battle, the returns were always good too and the holds never looked super consequential. We threw away a lot of points on just ST penalties
  10. I still really don’t understand that one…the only answer I’ll maybe accept is they were worried josh was banged up on a previous play. I will defend the punts all night long on this board but that shotgun run on the goal line is a real head scratcher. I can kind of understand it in other areas of the field because you don’t want to telegraph if a play is a pass or a run based on formations/substitutions but on the goal line I just can’t understand it
  11. It’s a calculated risk that we all get to criticize with the power of hindsight. For instance, that pass attempt to a wide open knox to close out the giants game did not work out and everyone jumped all over it. Fairly aggressive play but very high percentage and we missed it
  12. I’m not misunderstanding you at all I think you are grossly misusing ‘ballgame’. That Hail Mary was at the very edge of the range where baker could even reach…nobody could even locate it cuz it was in the air forever. That’s a 1/1000 type play and the way the bucs were mismanaging the clock late there was no way the game was going to end any other way. It was taking them far too long to move the ball. if you go for one/a few of those 4th and shorts and get stopped, then your defense that you don’t trust is defending one/multiple short fields and the clock is no longer a factor. Every one of those punts was the right call against a team like the bucs every single time and all of the punts were outstanding but we whiffed downing that final one deep
  13. I don’t think you’re the savvy football fan you think you are if you weren’t a fan of that timeout before halftime…really incredible to me that everyone is supposedly smarter than mcd here and the one time he does something that a smart coach would do they don’t recognize it 😂
  14. Decent shot!? Haha they complete that pass probably less that 1 in 100 tries…if you go for every 4th and short in the second half the bucs odds are much better than that. It’s a wild argument from fans that just wanted to see more offense…I understand where the sentiment is coming from but rational thought has left the building 😂. People think dropping 100 tonight would make them feel better about the games we lost but it doesn’t change the past
  15. No it’s all if them not just the last…if it’s gonna take 8+ minutes for tb to punch in the td why would you want to risk giving them good field position? plenty of time lol how? they are vastly shortening a game that we were up two scores. A Hail Mary attempt that baker could only reach with the ball arced a mile in the air is hardly a ballgame…was us running a hook and ladder on the final play against the jags a ballgame? Y’all are just broken from a Hail Mary a few years ago clearly 😂. That play was not even close
  16. People are out of their minds tonight…that Hail Mary was not even close lol it’s just about as far as you can get on a ball that made it to the end zone baker didn’t have the arm strength to get it there so he had to throw an absolute rainbow
  17. Y’all are making it sound like a receiver had their hands on it or something lol this is the exaggeration of a lifetime…that Hail Mary might have been one of the furthest from being completed I’ve ever seen. Nobody even located the football to make a play on it
  18. Board is off their rocker tonight imo with some of this…the timeout to close out the first half was actually really savvy. Tb wanted that fg attempt to close out the half with no risk of buffalo getting the ball back. the goal line run out of shotgun absolutely deserves to be criticized a receiver being 2 feet away from a Hail Mary is almost winning a game? Come on. No one even knew where the ball was on either team because it was an absolute duck lol
  19. The analytics would absolutely say to punt against an opponent like the bucs and it is not even remotely close… that td drive required a lot of luck and took foreverrrrr
  20. Your logic is flawed….they are making these in game decisions with the current opponent in mind. That is my whole point. They’re not gonna say ‘well the chiefs have a good offense so let’s go for this 4th and short on the 40 against the bucs’ lol it’s illogical. Tbs win percentage probably goes way up if we attempted those 4th and shorts. One stop and it’s a ballgame. They’ve got a bottom tier offense but a pretty good defense giants and pats the offense struggles moving the football and the offensive line got pulverized. Tonight was a much better result against a better defense
  21. Tb ran themselves straight out of the game and scored 8 points on complete lucky plays aided by an absolutely blatant push off by evans. Still didn’t have better than a 1/100 shot of winning it despite that
  22. Those ST penalties were absolute killers….we were dominating the field position battle and just throwing it away
  23. It definitely will be against teams not named the buccaneers….that’s why I’m not really connecting with this criticism tonight. I will be right there with y’all if we’re punting in that situation against kc mark my words
  24. Not understandable at all imo…you do what maximizes your percentage of winning the game in question and there was little to no chance the bucs were winning this way I know y’all want to see points and so on and want your qb to throw for 500 yards but if a team wants to run the clock out on themselves you let them every time. I think past emotional trauma is giving the illusion that that game was closer than it was, not so much the actual game itself tampas defense is pretty good one stop around midfield and you completely lose having the clock as your best defender. if the bills oline can hold up like that consistently they’ve got a shot in every game
  25. Nearly lost? No one was remotely close to catching that lol this is peak crazy town. This is like saying the jags almost lost to us cuz we had a chance at a hook and ladder play at the end 😂
