Social media is always bitter to be fair haha I think talkin to real people about it leads to a real interesting debate about what the mvp should mean. In fact making Josh’s case heard should improve the validity of the award in the future imo even if he doesn’t win. If it’s an almost entirely stats driven thing that’s fine, just be consistent with it or it’s just a popularity contest. I don’t think it’s diminishing Lamar’s accomplishments at all to say he probably was not the number 1 most valuable player in the league last year and that the methodology that won him the award last year has been pretty much turned on its head this year. It really has nothing to do with him as a player at all and the issue is entirely with the voters in my mind. Lamar is a great player and seems like a genuinely good dude.

Isnt ‘wind’ the excuse the anti mcd crowd uses for why we beat Baltimore last time in the playoffs 😂 probably makes it a little easier to add LBers on defense without Josh being effected very much on the other side of the ball if it’s a little windy. A gale force wind pats game situation would not be good but a steady breeze hurts the ravens more imo
-
Yea that’s not getting talked about enough…seemed like we knew we’d win if we didn’t turn the ball over and were guarding against getting roped into a bills dolphins wildcard game type situation
-
Yea I believe the sharps are early mostly…sometimes you hear a story of a huge bet coming in late if the public drove a line way in the wrong direction m but there’s more action from them early on even sharps though are only right a little more than half the time they’re just right a little more than half the time in a huge sample size

Calling it right now we will win and flowers being out will be the excuse used by the media and our negative contingent of fans alike despite lending no credence to the bills defense being ravaged the last time these two teams met or the chiefs just dunking on aj Klein all game last year 😂
-
Lamar being announced mvp after losing to the bills I would enjoy probably even more than Josh winning MVP tbh lol a three time mvp winner hardly ever making it past the divisional round would be completely unprecedented and expose the award as the pretty silly popularity contest it is imo.

NFL MVP & All Pro - it’s the Associated Press that Decide!?

The pro bowl voting is mostly players and coaches I believe and that goes even worse than the mvp voting haha -
Sorry this is gonna be a little long 😂. Feel free to skim: ‘…against teams still in it right now’ you left off there haha like beating the Bucs of the league is great but doesn’t mean much of anything as you get further in the playoffs was my point. Those teams may have made the playoffs but they are average teams or worse and a regular season win over one of those isn’t any more meaningful than an unexpected loss to a team like the raiders is. I don’t think the ravens were even top 10 in SOS but most places are ranking teams SOS based on advanced metrics and not wins so you’ll get different results based on where you look. I think this afc east thing gets overblown a tad…like obviously there’s truth to it for sure but it’s getting exaggerated a bunch. Miami with tua ain’t any worse than pit imo and we got them with tua x2. nfl elo has pit and Miami ranked 18th and 19th in the league if we blew one of our regular season games against them like Baltimore did with pit they would’ve been 1 off pits win total even with an absolute backup qb clown show for 6 games. Yea obviously cincy is considerably better than the jets but Cleveland is dogsh*t and Cleveland starting DTR or Zappe at qb and the corpse of Donta foreman at rb is probably the worst team in years it’s just a weird argument to even bring up sweeping the afc east when the ravens lost two division games to afc east equivalent teams which is why they’re on the road for this one and the bills had an extra week to rest starters
-
Pretty similar record against teams still in it right now. Everything is a dead heat for me goin into this one. With that said I don’t think beating most of the fringe playoff teams in the league is statistically significant when determining a teams chances in the divisional round or later…something both fanbases know after losing to the playoff chiefs 😂

Random talking head says something about the Bills
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Somethin like ‘city of losers’ has to piss the whole team off pretty equally though lol I do think the whole idea of bulletin board material is a little bit overblown but that is an extreme example haha -
We ran that successfully a few times and infamously Coleman did not know the ball was coming that quick against the dolphins and a sure td turned into an INT on that play 😂
-
I think the conservative first half was by design. really the only way we were losing that one was turning the ball over and they were playing a lot of zone and forcing us to play small ball. Vs Baltimore you know you’re in a shootout from the opening snap and they’re gonna challenge your receivers with a lot of man
-
Milano should get the benefit of the doubt imo he only had a couple games under his belt since his previous season ending injury before suffering another long term injury. Looking good in that broncos game is a very very good sign…I think mcd was giving him a ton of snaps despite being a downgrade from Williams for awhile so he’d be ready to spy Lamar in the playoffs tbh
-
Bills completely wore out the broncos defense in that first half…they could’ve scored 50+ that game if they had to. That game was nowhere near as close as it looked (while it was close) imo Unfortunately for them they’re in a division they will likely never win and will always be coming in as a 6/7 seed. They’re gonna have an uphill battle every year
-
Manning up the bills with no Shakir or cooper and Coleman only having a couple games under his belt was much easier imo. I think that early regular season blowout benefits the bills for this rematch honestly. the ravens will likely roll with mostly the same defensive gameplan and it might blow up on them this time and on the defensive side we really didn’t show much of anything because a good chunk of the starters were out I’ve got a funny feeling we’ll see some more Curtis Samuel action lol
-
It’s a double down on them saying the bills weren’t gonna be good in the offseason imo…if the ravens win they can be like ‘told you the bills weren’t talented enough this year’ and redeem themselves a bit for their awful afc east takes haha same thing that has happened to josh his whole career…they predicted he would bust so they snub him at every turn before being forced into giving him some credit
-
This is nitpicky as burrow is obviously great but to me he doesn’t seem to have the same ability to elevate poor oline play as some other guys…that’s usually their issue early in the year. I don’t see him as as much of a one man army as somebody more mobile would be. If the bengals lose some pieces I think he could take a pretty big dip in effectiveness. strouds not super mobile either so that was mostly in response to the ‘look at what the bills are doing’ part lol

What % of the plays will we play 3 LBs on Sunday?

People are downplaying potentially no flowers but I think that makes things a bit easier to go heavy and will likely be the excuse used if we win 😂 -

Seemed like we tried morrow for awhile and we were like NEVERMIND haha. I’d have to rewatch to know what was truly a 3 lb set but morrow got 16 snaps apparently which is more than I thought -
Probably isn’t super rational but this is pretty much exactly what the lead up to the last ravens bills playoff game was like so it’s comforting in a way 😂
-
Could be wishful thinking but I get the vibe that the bills defense accidentally hid a lot by being really cautious with injuries/keeping guys healthy for the playoffs. The rams torched a healthy lineup but Milano was so rusty in that one…I think he would’ve gotten benched for Williams if that was a playoff scenario. Think he was only in there to get him up to speed for this very game
-
Vons low snap count during the regular season seems like a load management thing…feels like the bills did a lot of that this year let’s hope it pays off. I don’t think epenesa will see the field much
-
It’s easy for me to say from my couch but it’s crazy how guys just quit in an nfl playoff game lol. The entire Steelers team looked like they gave up before halftime. contrast that with the packers who were flying all over the place even when their offense was sh*tting the bed
