  1. Do you happen to know what tiebreaker it is? The ESPN playoff machine has cincy as the 2 seed if that’s the case but it could be a quirk with strength of victory because the final game obviously doesn’t have a winning margin associated with it yet
  2. Sounds like they want to play if you heard the press conference from today…they want to go out and win it for damar. If they didn’t get the good news we heard today things would certainly be different
  3. Yea we were blitzing a lot though and we would not have continued blitzing if our guys were just getting held and nothing was being done about it. So it’s pretty hard to extrapolate that offensive drive and a half from the bengals into a full game. The defensive philosophy absolutely would’ve changed. Our defense always improves as the game goes on too I think it would’ve been a shootout with the refs continuing to swallow their whistles on holds on the OL and the bengals are more likely to give up a big sack/turnover. I still liked our chances…our oline was steamrolling them and we must’ve had some faith in the defense to not go for that 4th and 3. It’s impossible to say though. I don’t see cincy navigating their way through the afc playoffs…they’re loaded at the skill positions but pretty weak in the trenches due in large part to some key injuries. I’d be more worried about kc still who is much stronger in the trenches. They’re both good teams though no question
  4. We were testing their patchwork oline and winning imo but not getting the calls. The bengals oline was holding like crazy. Either we would’ve started going home as the game went on or Frazier would’ve gone away from the blitz…either way that game was gonna change. It’s impossible to predict what would’ve happened though of course.
  5. I’ve been trying to explain to my buddies who are not bills fans the difference between a tie and a no contest as far as playoff seeding goes and it would be wild if the chiefs and raiders tie making that a huge deal
  6. This seems like the best solution…chiefs will pick the bye and will be on the road if they see the bills or bengals. I doubt they go through with it though
  7. True but being at home gives you an edge in the game you are more likely to lose in the second round. I think most teams would pick the bye but it’s the most fair thing I’ve heard. I wonder how they decide who gets to pick though…I’d assume kc has the first crack
  8. If going 0-4 against the 49ers,chargers,bills, and packers is a foregone conclusion that can be excused as easily after the fact as you are making it sound, you need to fire your coach. If they weren’t playing a third place schedule, that would’ve added even more matchups against playoff caliber teams that they would’ve lost if they are expected to lose games like that. Also, they got lucky running into quite a few very injured teams themselves so their injury excuse isn’t as strong as you think imo. First bills matchup and the ravens game were definite losses for them if we are normalizing team’s injury situations. Bengals game tua was struggling just as much or more so than bridgewater did in the second half. I’d give them the Vikings win and pats win but take away the bills and ravens win and they’d be right back where they started. Tua would’ve absolutely struggled against the jets it’s a monumental collapse finishing 0-6 when you need just one more win to make the playoffs id assume most of the firing talk is based on them wanting their Sean Payton and Brady plan again though and not so much them thinking McDaniel is an bad coach.
  9. I doubt it, unless they let him take tyreek and waddle with him for free lol. Someone would probably give him a chance but it’s far from a guarantee The dude is massively underperforming with a fringe superbowl caliber roster I don’t understand why people can’t see that. Even if you swap tua for prime Brady, that defense that’s loaded with talent still can’t stop anybody. If McDaniel got hired by someone else he would 100% be going to a team with significantly less talent than this dolphins team he has won 8 games with
  10. I don’t mean to brag but I predicted all of this in the offseason 😂. Big step forward for their offense and big step backwards for their defense which would end up with the same results if I had to guess, there was a battle between Flores and the gm/owner about his treatment of tua even though Fitzpatrick was clearly the better qb. i don’t think they’ll end up firing McDaniel, I’m assuming they’d let him scapegoat the DC first. But it’s hard to say because they were 8-3 and nearly all the teams competing for the wildcard imploded. They only needed to go 1-5 down the stretch to make the playoffs and if they can’t do that some tough questions need to be asked.
  11. It really is pretty pathetic…idk why this constantly gets overlooked. The average fan seems to only care about offense. If he gets fired that is going to be why. That defense is loaded with playermakers and I’m having trouble thinking of a defensive depth chart of that quality performing this badly ever. Flores never made it to the end of the rebuild but if you gave him chubb, armstead,Connor Williams, and tyreek hill I’m certain he would’ve won more than 8 games in a 17 game season no matter who the qb was
  12. He absolutely did not the first game. That bills roster in the second half of that game was one of the worst squads fielded by anyone in the league due to all the injuries and they barely hung on to a 2 point win. We were missing like 13 starters by that point. Second game is debatable…I’m not sure if he ‘outcoached’ us or our players had a bad night tackling. either way, he’s a good offensive coordinator at best. Mcdaniel has done the anti-Flores and improved the offense but absolutely torpedoed the defense which has resulted in the same results Flores used to get with a much less talented roster
  13. There’s a very strong chance that the decision about the bills/bengals game hurts us so the opposite of an asterisk should be attached lol
  14. It’s the standard procedure for situations involving cardiac arrest…they ease the patient into resuming normal brain activity.
  15. Is the second resuscitation confirmed by any reputable news sources? I haven’t heard anything about that
  16. What’s the survival rate of patients that survived the initial cardiac arrest and made it to the hospital would be my question. Could be wishful thinking but I’d expect demar’s chances to be much better than that currently
  17. I was reading through the chiefs forum briefly and it seems like they feel terrible about the whole situation but don’t believe their team should be penalized with games getting rescheduled and whatnot
  18. Oh yea it def does but there’s not a lot that can be done that doesn’t negatively impact somebody.
  19. I still don’t really agree with this even with the 5 minutes we saw…the bills oline was dominating and the bengals oline was holding on for dear life. If the bills can run the football they are nearly impossible to stop and it was much more likely the bills were going to get home for a big time sack than the bengals. that game was far from a likely loss
  20. You mentioned it in a throwaway sentence but I personally really only care about the playoff seeding because the players have worked so hard and fought through so much adversity this season. It may not happen in the next week or two, but they may rally and want a chance to win it all for demar. If the players and coaches decided they wanted to end the season right now I would 100% endorse that decision. I can’t speak for everyone but for me it has absolutely nothing to do with wanting to see my team win a Super Bowl. to me caring about demars health/the well being of the players is not some mutually exclusive idea to them being given a chance to compete still should they want it.
  21. There will hopefully be a positive update on Hamlin by tomorrow night if everything is progressing well. That could change a lot for the players
  22. At the end of the day both coaches seemed to agree to not finish the game. If one coach doesn’t want to restart the game and one does, then you might see a forfeit. But I doubt that’s going to happen. I really don’t think the bengals could’ve played in those conditions either…they might not have known demar personally but I’m sure it really shook them up as well. Especially Higgins
  23. His vitals being stable is not really the cause for potential concern at this point so there’s not a whole lot of info they could’ve said to put anyone at ease. His heart rate is normal now and they have him on a ventilator to ease his brain back into resuming normal activity while they monitor things but until they take him off that they really won’t know if there’s any long term damage. I think they have ways of telling if there is really serious brain damage while the patient is sedated so no news is good news at this point
  24. I find it hard to believe the cincy oline would continue to be allowed to hold as badly as they were for 4 quarters so I think the bills were moving the ball easier in reality. There was an absolutely egregious hold on just about every offensive snap for cincy. At some point the bills dline was going to take over or the bills would have stopped blitzing if they were just letting holds go in this one. It’s hard to say what would’ve happened defensively
  25. Assuming the ‘it was mcdermotts decision to not put his players out there to finish the game’ point is true , there’s no way I’d even consider doing anything to be an nfl company man after the actions of last night if I were McDermott. in that scenario McDermott and Taylor stepped in and saved the NFL from making possibly the biggest blunder in sports history and that’s how you’re gonna repay his team who has battling through adversity all year? if the nfl decides on a makeup date and the bills decide not to play, I’d leave it up to the bengals if they want the game to be treated as a forfeit or not but I would certainly not conclude a bills forfeit is the only option if I were the league .
