  1. It’s going to be 3 in a row in buffalo after that…the afc east vs afc west division placement games have doubled up home teams in back to back years the last few rotations
  2. ‘Great news about the team coming this week’ I think was the wording
  3. Yea that’s true…i goofed on when he had the surgery too so I’d agree it’s extremely unlikely. Figured it was closer to the bills titans game but it was about a month later. 4 months I could see it being in that ‘fully healed but risky to return’ window where a player might go for it since it’s the playoffs (assuming the medical staff clears them and depending on the severity of the injury). But 3 months just seems too risky
  4. Tua being that much better than bridgewater is exaggerated imo. They have different skill sets which gave tua a big edge early while there wasn’t much film on the new look dolphins offense but the diminishing returns were huge. He’s accurate and he gets rid of the ball quick but teams wised up to where he likes to go with the football. Bridgewater is better at going through reads and improvising when a play breaks down. tua is just always injured for tough defensive matchups which makes the total win/loss of the various qbs argument completely meaningless. The bills and ravens defenses were absolutely decimated by injuries early in the year then tua got a long string of layup games. Bridgewater/Thompson started against NYJ X 2 and NE behind a very shoddy oline due to injuries. the Vikings d was gettable and bridgewater moved the ball fine he just had a couple tough turnovers. Vs cincy, bridgewater actually looked better than tua when he came in in the second half. So out of the 5 games tua missed, 3 were against great defenses,1 was against a good defense, and one was against a good team with a bad defense tua would’ve looked horrible also in the NYJ game last weekend. I thought Thompson played pretty well considering. No armstead or Brandon shell, no mostert, and tyreek hill and waddle were both far from 100% If we saw tua light up the jets once maybe the vibe would be different, but he mostly ran up the score against terrible teams imo.
  5. He had a herniated disc in his neck? There’s enormous variability in how long recovery could take with or without surgery. From life experience (obviously I’m not a professional football player lol) 6-9 months sounds outrageously overly cautious if you’re strictly accounting for physical healing. The physical recovery only takes about 2-3 months. could be mental things at work for why it usually takes players longer which are entirely on him. I don’t think he’d be working out at practice if he didn’t see it as at all possible
  6. Right I thought that would be too confusing to throw in there haha so I focused on why you can get two away division placement games against the same division in a row 😂
  7. Hyde’s been working out at practice hasn’t he? It’s probably unlikely but ya never know
  8. Was just gonna say that…every team needs one home division placement type game and one away one(ignoring the extra nfc game for simplicity) the years you play a certain entire division you don’t do a division placement game against that division and those divisions rotate. this year we had division placement games against AFC West and AFC south and next year we have division placement games against the AFC south and AFC north and play the entire AFC West. the last two seasons we had two division placement games in a row against the AFC west which led to us traveling to kc both times so the division placement stuff lined up right for every team.
  9. Seems like a really risky proposition with their offensive line banged up. Armstead may be playing hurt or miss the game, Brandon shell will probably miss the game. If armstead and shell can’t go they’ll be starting Greg little who is absolutely horrendous and Robert jones. I don’t think I’d even put a healthy qb behind those guys lol
  10. I normally wouldn’t mind because the right decision was reached and the focus should be on the trainers for saving Hamlins life but McDermott and Taylor deserve all the credit in the world for standing up to the league and this NFL cover up buries that. it’s not really about wanting another reason to be mad at the league at all. Especially for zac Taylor who had every reason to want the game resumed later in the week
  11. It must be because the majority of the people in r/nfl were praising the nfl for handling it perfectly and anyone suggesting the nfl wanted to continue the game was pretty much attacked lol. Maybe we have a different perspective in Bills world the theory was ‘joe Buck misrepresented the normal ambulance protocol as what was happening currently on the field’ but ESPN stuck to their guns so that went out the window pretty fast I was told ‘so you actually think ESPN broadcasters have a way to communicate with the league office?’ many times and the answer to that was clearly a yes lol
  12. I took some flak on Reddit for suggesting the NFL did not handle this very well and the bills/bengals saved the nfl’s bacon. I wonder if it was all NFL employee burner accounts haha it was pretty obvious that was what happened. The bengals wouldn’t have randomly started warming up during an indefinite delay
  13. I watched that game for an unfortunately long time and tua would not have fared much better imo. Skylar was constantly being pressured off his spots because the dolphins oline is Swiss cheese right now. Tuas decision making completely breaks down when he has to adjust in the pocket…I think Skylar and bridgewater are actually better than tua in that regard
  14. I’ve heard a few people say they’re nervous about the game if tua plays around here to be fair to the OP OP is talking about 😂. I think they have too many other injuries for it to matter much though. I wouldn’t trot tua out there after at least 2 concussions and a long time off missing his RT and with terron armstead and his best two receivers playing hurt anyway
  15. I think 4 games against NE and NYJ balances that out…every team is gonna play a handful of garbage defenses in a ‘17’ game schedule.
  16. They said all week the bills were fired up to play? I don’t remember hearing that but I could be wrong. I think it’ll be bridgewater trying to read through the lines of what McDaniel has been saying. Sounds like he was just about ready yesterday
  17. I think romo and nance were talking about a period closer to kickoff than Girardi is talking about. Once damar conferenced with them they were probably fired up
  18. Didn’t even really work for them when we were missing two offensive line starters in the last meeting.
  19. To be fair, that’s every game day thread the first time something doesn’t go the Bills way haha all these negative posters come out of nowhere and fill up the thread then disappear when we win by multiple scores haha im still baffled by that…I think a bunch of people show up that don’t post here on a regular basis
  20. This bills team has been one of the least up and down teams I’ve ever seen lol I’m not sure what people are expecting. Every loss was by a tiny margin and there weren’t any games like we’ve seen the last few years where we are bad in all three phases we blew out a couple teams early in the year and people now expect it every time?
  21. I still don’t see the Dorsey criticism…idk if he’s great but he’s certainly better than any guys that are unemployed right now. There were extremely make-able plays that our guys just didn’t execute in all three losses.
  22. The eye test from our fans seems pretty biased though in that we give our opponents zero credit. Cincy who is apparently the best thing since sliced bread got taken right down to the wire by NE and would’ve lost that game if it weren’t for a key fumble.
  23. Idk the formula but we are the best on third down and we are second in ypg and ppg. We scored less than 20 once all season and that was because our entire offensive line was injured lol DVOA factors in opponents and we’ve got two division rivals with really tough defenses to score on
  24. Might be able to play some man depending on how banged up tyreek and waddle are. They did not look healthy yesterday. Pass rush is usually the best friend of a mediocre secondary and if the dolphins are missing a few offensive linemen they could be in trouble offensively. With a qb that hasn’t played in weeks and their two best skill position players banged up behind a patchwork offensive line, I just don’t see how they could outscore us. We put up points on them last time missing multiple offensive linemen, I don’t think we would’ve punted if morse and bates were healthy
  25. Based on Josh’s reaction you can usually tell who’s at fault. Looked like there were a couple of each in this game. Also a few of those ‘thrown behind him’ type balls were very catchable. The overthrow in the end zone looked like josh was being cautious and throwing it away because the linebacker was lurking so I wouldn’t really blame either for that one. If gabe caught 50/50 balls with a little more regularity I’d have no problem chalking some of it up to certain throws weren’t great. But he hardly ever comes down with them it seems
