All of those things are a factor but the offensive line is kickin it all off imo. Seems like josh just doesn’t have a good sense for when the pressure is coming because of all the assignment breakdowns these delayed blitzes are causing. Nothing is improving until we figure that out regardless of what skill position players or coaches we bring in here. Flip side of that is it’s not a talent issue on the offensive side and I think it’s something we have a good shot of figuring out I just hope it’s sooner than later defensive side we just don’t have the talent anymore with the injuries; the offense is going to have to carry us. All teams have injuries for sure but we are missing all our best players on defense

Idk if they’ll figure it out but if they could communicate better on these stunts/delayed blitzes the offense would improve exponentially in a hurry. It’s really been the same things killin us every game since jax

Even with our current struggles all 4 of the games you highlighted are winnable and every one of them have looked bad against bad/mediocre opponents at times much like we have

Can’t imagine how this board would react to Ben Johnson’s last game lol. They have one of the best offensive lines in football, we very much do not. Those guys up front didn’t show up Sunday and the lions got destroyed. We’d be currently calling for Ben to get fired if he was here 😂

I think it’s the opposite lol have to get to the red zone though 😂 The oline looks horrible to me this year…if josh wasn’t as athletic I can’t even imagine how many times he’d be sacked. Weeks 1-4 it really looked like we turned the corner finally but now it looks like we’ve regressed

I saw a stat that he’s last in the league in accuracy to open receivers…of course I can’t find it now so there’s a 20% chance I’m making it up lol

This always makes me giggle…the qbs don’t play against eachother directly in any way. Put Mac on the bills yesterday and he gets absolutely demolished

Those delayed blitzes have our whole offense rattled it seems josh included…I think he’s not really sure when he can hold the ball and attack downfield and when he’s gotta dump it off quick anymore. Sometimes he diagnoses a quick blitz effectively and throws it hot…sometimes a delayed blitz turns into a jailbreak type scenario because nobody can block anybody despite it being ‘delayed’ lol silver lining if we end up powering through this we’ll be a better team for it. That is a decently big ‘if’ though at this time still think this is the best josh we’ve seen I kind of feel bad for him honestly…he’s not perfect by any means but the last 3 weeks have been the typical games in past years where he’s absolutely awful and this year he’s played pretty well. the stats won’t reflect it though

Kc we are doomed I’m afraid…philly and Dallas I have no idea what to make of and we’ve got some time to right the ship before we see them. Hopefully von shows up at some point before then

Haha I thought you meant the commanders and was confused but it’s kc. I just don’t think Miami is very good. They install some new wrinkles to make tuas life a little easier then they seem to get figured out at the midpoint of the season. Tua might be the worst qb at improvising on off schedule plays in the league I don’t think the guy sees the field at all when he has to move in a collapsing pocket if we can’t catch Miami it likely means we weren’t good enough to do diddly in the playoffs anyway McDaniel has definitely hit the ceiling on what they can cover up with great play design imo. They’re also at a pretty big disadvantage on the road with all that presnap motion…that’s probably hard to pull off cleanly without penalties in a silent stadium let alone philly on a Sunday night

I’m starting to feel that way too…dolphins just get absolutely worked by the playoff level opponents on a regular basis. They had that flukey game against us where we outgained them by double despite missing our entire starting secondary and that massive comeback against the injury ravaged ravens last year and lost all the rest bills are up and down but josh has those games where he pulls magical sh*t out of his a** haha They’re frauds but so are we until proven otherwise 😂. Miamis offensive system really exploits bad defenses disproportionately to good ones but can’t hate on that right now as we can’t even beat the bad teams haha

Lol I watch on mute. That’s embarrassing if true…this team is now 2-6 under McDaniel against playoff teams with tua (assuming the bills make it) and 2-8 total. Their two wins were sneaking by absolutely injury ravaged ravens and bills teams (they got outgained in that bills game by nearly 250 yards)

Neither are beating the chiefs imo which is unfortunate. Dolphins don’t look like a contender either idk who’s left…ravens maybe?

Tua is only great at a very niche aspect of playing qb that just isn’t available against the better defenses often enough it’s unrealistic that his first read is gonna be open 80%+ of the time right off the snap in games like this and he gets tunnel vision trying to make plays happen I really hope they unload the brinks truck for his new contract that would be a huge win for us if we have a down year

They love the sad qb shot on network television…guarantee you he was pumping people up most of the game im sure he’s a bit frustrated this is 5 years now of hardly any pass pro. I’m sure he’s frustrated with himself for leaving plays out there too

Eagles don’t look unbeatable either…chiefs are a tier above them for sure. Chiefs are pretty darn close to an automatic loss…we match up worse against them than ever lol

One team was playin against a Swiss cheese defense with 0 pass rush lol josh would’ve won that game 50-0 if they swapped teams

I think it’s more that who’s gonna step in and make an instant improvement…do they have someone on the staff they make like better? I doubt it

Mahomes has it locked up…6 games against raiders chargers broncos is a cheat code. No idea what happened to those chargers and broncos defenses they have nosedived

Dorsey is as good as gone as late as the offseason barring a miracle. If they’re a game back of Miami for the foreseeable future I doubt they make any big time changes during the season though

On a one off situation maybe I’d give them some leeway due to injuries and whatnot but this is three games in a row the defense should not have gotten a stop late to seal the game for the opponent

Looked like taron Johnson was the goat of this game(the bad goat…weird it means both greatest of all time and hurt the team badly) lol How long can the d get a pass though? Pats d has tons of injuries also. As does the ravens every year. We’ve had three drives in the last three games where a stop gives us a good shot to win and our defense really went 0 for 3 against an average offense and two terrible ones (got bailed out by a no call though) not to say the offense is blameless but realistically that defense has to step up every so often down the stretch regardless of what the offense is doing

We’re in this weird loop where everyone wants to blame a single thing but we’re playing very non complementary football. The offense steps up then the defense disappears or vice versa…bass misses some kicks. It’s absurdly frustrating. Three games in a row the offense did nothing for a long stretch of the game then woke up and the defense could not get a stop. Injuries or not the defense cannot be blameless here. You HAVE to make one of those stops. Giants game doesn’t really count in my mind because they got bailed out with that no pi call
