Predict the narrative win or lose!
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Sharky7337's topic in The Stadium Wall
Whole thing is so funny cuz the chiefs absolutely own the ravens and for some reason nobody talks about it 😂. Lamar should absolutely be getting the Josh Allen ‘can’t win the big game’ treatment win or lose here. Harbaugh/lamar can’t beat them regular season or playoffs. The one time the ravens won out of the 6 attempts the chiefs fumbled the game away in game winning fg range -
Just to be fair I think being more familiar with the conditions and home crowd noise type stuff is directly related to the game your criticism of stuff like ‘we can’t lose 3 in a row’ is def spot on though lol
-
That Cleveland team they beat week 18 was one of the worst offenses in recent history imo. Calling them 22nd is based on games earlier in the season when the roster looked a lot different. Zappe at qb, no njoku, cooper traded away weeks ago, foreman at rb. That team was absolutely horrendous at least Winston is good for a bunch of passing yards but he turns it over a ton. Zappe gives you nothing

The market kind of dried up on RBs because it’s a passing league and having two-three pretty good RBs that specialize in different areas started makin a lot more sense than subjecting one feature back to injury by having them do everything especially when they tick closer to 30+. We’ll see how it works out for them but to me the ravens are well equipped to take teams out that built their roster to slow down the chiefs but I just don’t think the ceiling is high enough for their style of play to beat KC then someone like Philly or detroit. So really all they’ve done in my mind is built a team that makes it harder for the chiefs to lose in the playoffs lol we harp on mcds playoff success against kc but Harbaugh isn’t beating them in the regular season or playoffs. Ravens are 1-5 against kc in the Lamar era with that 1 win being a 1 pointer that the ravens just held onto due to a late chiefs fumble in fg range It’s so odd to me that the ravens ineptitude against the chiefs just doesn’t get discussed as much as bills chiefs 😂
-
Should be a lot easier when only one of them is shaky in coverage instead of all three of them like the regular season 😂. Spector Williams Morrow being the 3 LB set completely invalidates the regular season results imo…that is absolutely brutal. And the alternative was stay in nickel with Lewis at nickel corner and no rapp also brutal
-
Not really how it works…the 10-20 yard type runs that happen sparingly bring the average up. If you’re running the ball every play a lot of times you’re gonna gain 0-1 and it’s gonna kill drives and force you into obvious throwing situations
-
It was mostly the same last time these two teams played in the playoffs then the excuse train started when it didn’t go the way the media/negative contingent of bills fans thought it would lol both teams were right around the win totals they are at this year, Baltimore coming to Buffalo, Lamar is gonna run all over them yada yada think we were a small favorite in that one technically but most of the media was picking Baltimore
-
Bills failed on offense on a bunch of short yardage plays too/had a couple big drops it wasn’t like they weren’t moving the ball
-
I don’t think the cold thing is completely illogical tbh. Bills are leading the league in fumbles forced and have the least lost fumbles and are more used to that field/the conditions. Ravens love to run the ball. Obviously anyone saying they’re definitely gonna win because it’s cold are a little crazy haha but it’s in the pro column I’d say

Regular season has a massive impact on playoff success haha I chuckle every time people discount it. It’s happening right before our eyes…we currently have to go Baltimore-KC which would be two 60/40 type games even in the best of circumstances. If we had the 1 seed it would be a fairly easy win against Houston then just one of Baltimore/KC. That’s a humongous probability difference
-
Probably depends a lot on how well prepared fans are. People definitely underestimate what standing mostly in one place on frozen concrete for hours is gonna do to them the first time lol
-
I can’t imagine how maddening it’s gotta be for all these guys to constantly hear that Josh Allen is the whole team and there’s a guy that’s more valuable than Josh simultaneously 😂
-
I’m gonna spend way too much time trying to think of what the two losses were from memory lol
-
The moneyline isn’t even good value for either team…you can get Josh Allen scoring a td for the same odds as the bills or ravens winning pretty much lol I kind of like Josh Allen 300 passing yards for +340. Ravens defense is good but I think they’re getting a bit overvalued with props like that.
-
Strictly head coach speaking I feel like Flores is pretty solid…idk about grigson though or Mccown earning a promotion lol the ceiling for the jets HC is probably around there seeing as they are a known nightmare ownership wise team would’ve looked different for sure but Flores really wasn’t far off from McDaniel’s W/L results in Miami and he was pretty early on in the rebuild when fired. Hard to even say he was wrong for hating tua even if you only wanted to focus on injury history
-
I’ve actually seen a bunch of Buffalo picks surprisingly haha used to love nflpickwatch but it requires a subscription now so I’m not sure of overall percentages but they’re out there
-
Not only is everyone healthy but throughout the regular season we were definitely super cautious holding guys out that probably could’ve played to keep everyone healthy so it’s a double whammy.

Comparing this game to Bengals playoff game

Lol making excuses for the bills opponents to cheapen two wins against 15-2 teams then calling the other person misguided. Riiiiight I think this ‘chiefs playoff stride’ thing is absolute utter nonsense, those bills chiefs games are full playoff atmosphere with both teams emptying the tank and like the playoff games they could each go either way easily and that’s even before factoring in them having an undefeated season on the line. Chiefs definitely sleepwalk at times in the regular season but never in huge games like that. They have honestly usually looked their worst to close out the season and sharp earlier so I’m not even sure what a late regular season ‘playoff stride’ even looks like for them. But while we’re on the topic of playing your best football at the best time, that 2022 bills team just didn’t feel like it was doing it and many posters called it out not just the usual negative suspects lol I don’t think an advanced total season metric like dvoa really could’ve caught that situation well I’ve got no issue with the hindsight point at all it could certainly go down like that. I doubt we get our a** beat like we did against cincy though. I think the cracks were a lot clearer late in the 2022 season though…even the offense was struggling against mediocre opponents. This year I can see a path to things going differently especially with us seemingly doing a bit of load management on the defensive side. Getting stuck with aj klein against kc seemed to be a big wake up call and it feels like we were really cautious with defensive injuries because of it. -
Some people have been saying this doesn’t matter much and even if you believe that (which I don’t) I think the ravens are one receiver getting banged up in game away from game over if flowers can’t play

A 3rd consecutive Divisional Round home loss? No chance

If you swapped the bills with the niners in their divisions/conferences the bills make at least 1 Super Bowl and niners would probably have 0 appearances imo -

Yea Shanahan coaching sure has an impeccable playoff record against the chiefs/in superbowls 🤣. Not to mention your scathing insult has mcd as nearly a top 10 coach in the league hahaha amazing -
lol that’s not what I was saying I just thought it would be a better way to phrase it…the bills do a lot of what the broncos did to us in the first half, force you into long drives that feel like pulling teeth at times where the odds of making a mistake like a fumble,INT,etc start to go up higher and higher especially with them disguising coverages pretty well. so by defensive/offensive philosophy it gets really difficult for us to lose the turnover battle. People criticize it when teams score but don’t really give it much credit when it does what it’s supposed to. Just always gives me a chuckle when every turnover is called luck 🤣

Idk beating both the 1 seeds is a pretty big deal. That 2022 team looked a little shaky against bad teams down the stretch too which was pointed out by many people as it was happening. that Detroit-Miami stretch leading up to the cincy regular season game didn’t feel super good to a lot of people here probably yourself included 🤣 -

This argument really means nothing when those two teams were the two 1 seeds 🤣 and on top of that, it was 3 and on top of THAT, the dolphins roster we beat twice probably wins 10-11 games lol
