  1. I do think at least part of it was josh losing confidence in the offensive line and he got into this mentality of ‘it’s only a matter of time before a hold or sack derails this drive so I better pick up chunks when I can’. He seems much more willing to hit the checkdowns/underneath throws when he’s not running for his life on a majority of plays. He seemed to lose some accuracy post elbow injury too which makes some of those tight window underneath throws a little dicey. of course he is a gunslinger as well no question lol but I do expect things to return to some normalcy next season.
  2. Floyd was pretty impactful in the playoffs for the rams superbowl run. Here’s to hoping him and von get another one that was a pretty big name signing late in free agency and it was just overshadowed by the dhop business
  3. That’s what it felt like to me…you get some inaccuracy protection by being able to overthrow receivers and the defense. Those throwing windows on a lot of the underneath stuff look huge on the broadcast angle but they are often a lot tighter than they look.
  4. They certainly have much better pass protection also which opens up a lot of the playbook And we match up better with the chiefs than the bengals imo lol. Turnin into a real rock paper scissors situation.
  5. The division is harder but we sleepwalked through a few division games last year so I’d expect our division record to be at worst the same
  6. I am surprised that others aren’t more into the Floyd signing. The pass rush absolutely fell off a cliff after von went down and it seemed like it was masked some by the second half of the schedule being a bit easier/other afc east teams having offensive line struggles. If cincy got all their injured olinemen back and we got daquon jones and von miller back I gotta think we come out ahead in that exchange without even getting to Leonard Floyd being in the mix. Of course we still probably lose the game though because our offensive line was garbage too but that’s for another thread lol you could’ve dropped prime jerry rice on that bills roster and we still would’ve lost that game. Poyer I’m genuinely not sure about as he was playing through injuries most of the season. Safety play seemed like a huge issue after the hyde injury though so idk how much we could afford to lose him. It seemed to me like he has a good year considering the circumstances but all anybody will remember is his bad game against cincy which is understandable
  7. If the case was just ‘a 17 year old girl snuck into a party, lied about her age, and Matt had consensual sex with her’ (which I’m sure is what the bills own investigation accurately concluded) I severely doubt there would have been any public outcry or pushback from the nfl at all it was the other prove-ably false details in the diary that caused this to blow up.
  8. I really don’t understand it either. Like yea I can see not being vindictive because he could’ve avoided the situation but what does he really have to apologize for? Someone a year underage snuck into his party and lied about her age…California would never even bring that to trial.
  9. Probably takes awhile to corroborate that with multiple witness accounts…he would’ve needed some rock solid alibi to prove what time he left and arrived somewhere else quickly without relying on witnesses.
  10. DT depth murdered us against cincy last year so it’s tough to dislike this signing
  11. The division is tough but we underperformed in the division last year I’d say. the division record from last year will likely remain the same. Also last years schedule looked very difficult on paper going into the season and it never shakes out the way you think it’s gonna.
  12. Are you replying to the right person? Lol idk where I said Kincaid ‘only’ plays slot. He can play virtually anywhere a wr or TE can play making him an ‘easy mode’ for an offensive coordinator is what I said 😂
  13. I feel like they had to go OL in round 1 though…McDonald is a good player but that is still a strange pick to me. The rodgers trade put them way into win now mode and don’t really have the luxury of hoping guys develop
  14. I’ve been saying the same thing lol. I feel like most people have this backwards because if anything a player like Kincaid is ‘easy mode’ for an allegedly not very creative offensive coordinator…the guy can line up anywhere and do pretty much anything a wr or pass catching TE can do. the only knock on him is blocking which is something Knox is pretty good at Knox is mostly a vertical TE in the passing game that does not have the route running prowess/hands that Kincaid does. There’s not a whole lot of overlap between the two of them. If we truly got another knox (like some people are incorrectly stating) then things get tough for an OC because you’ve got two guys that mostly only excel at verticals. A big factor in knox being underutilized in the passing game is he’s not as accomplished a route runner as someone like Kincaid is
  15. I’d say that first point is at the minimum debatable… we had a potential shot at the 1 seed despite experiencing just about as much adversity as I’ve ever seen a team face. No von, down two run stuffing DTs there’s virtually no way to stop the bengals. and on the offensive side we were missing a big target chain mover/red zone threat which we have addressed and the offensive line was an absolute mess which has been addressed also. If we get blown out in the second round of the playoffs again I’d start to get a little more in line with your way of thinking but I would not say they have ‘completely failed to build and utilize a roster that can get this team to the next level’ yet The bengals are getting a lot of production out of rookie contracts because they bottomed out/lost their qb to injury and stacked their roster with offensive talent…there’s no way they can resign all those guys. Im not even sure the chiefs roster is stacked on paper they just have two guys on offense that are absolute freaks of nature and they nailed down the offensive line which hopefully we have done this offseason
  16. ‘A special teamer right away’ doesn’t mean they don’t expect him to develop into a starting linebacker role to be fair. Wasn’t a deep mlb class…outside of jack Campbell I don’t think there was a ‘no doubter contribute right away mlb’ in the entire draft let alone late in the third. if we had a fourth rounder still maybe there’s a slight chance he’s still on the board in the 4th but I doubt it. I’d pick the guy with the highest ceiling there and it looks like that’s what we did…it’s not like they are incapable of increasing his playing weight/strength
  17. He has the talent to line up at any wr position…I really don’t get this notion that dorsey has to do rocket science to the scheme to try to incorporate two TEs lol kincaid is arguably the best pass catcher in the draft flat out, it’s not like ‘yea he’s pretty good at catching the ball/running routes for a tight end’
  18. I know nothing about this guy so I can’t provide input personally but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bigger disjoint between what fans are saying and what the nfl analysts are saying about a draft pick lol
  19. Thankfully Miami and NYJ have the same issues and I don’t think rodgers or tua are as capable in those situations. We might have had the best offensive line in the division last year and it was so bad 😂
  20. I saw a good video on it somewhere but can’t find it now of course lol. There’s a lot more danger underneath if your accuracy isn’t quite there compared to overthrowing guys deep too which seemed to be his common miss.
  21. Idk much about this guy but it seems like he’s got a high ceiling which is all you could ask for in the late third.
  22. Could be wishful thinking but I think the elbow injury really hurt his touch/accuracy on the underneath stuff. Also like you touched on its pretty tough to string a 10+ play drive together with the underneath throws/checkdowns when the probability of a holding penalty/sack blowing up the whole drive is super high with the offensive line we were trotting out there
  23. It’s honestly pretty crazy how much production we got on offense with a qb with a bum elbow and a couple big time weak links on the offensive line unfortunately it caught up with us in the playoffs
  24. Not that I completely agree with op but it is at the very least ‘strange’ lol
  25. True lol but he was still a heck of a lot closer to the worst guard in the league than the best 😂
