Linebackers can though and we brought a lot of simulated pressure with linebackers blitzing and DL dropping it seemed like to me. I’ve gotta watch the all 22 which I will be happy to do since there’s not much better than watching us blow out the dolphins 😂 that late sack absolutely seemed like a LB jumped the snap due to timing his rush based on the motion but maybe that was more of a one off thing and that one play stood out to me more than it should have though. Can’t remember who it was but they got a big time running start

Oh yea I am definitely pro hill trade for them he’s a lot of what makes that offense work, it just took away a lot of their safety net if they missed on a few picks/trades and sped up the timeline on when their window of being competitive opened up. I don’t think he’s a guy they’ll ever be able to replace and idk how long a burner wr can be at max effectiveness without losing a step. I think the jets were built in a way where they could get a couple years out of rodgers and draft a guy to take over and they’d be competitive longer than the dolphins. of course who knows now with the rodgers injury they might fall into the infinite loop of drafting a qb and throwing them to the wolves with that bad offensive line
-
Oh yea that’s impossible to argue cuz the Brady tampering they lost a first for no return lol chubb was such a weird trade though they are loaded with pass rushers…I think they thought they had a chance to mask their lb/cb coverage issues if they just brought the house often which gave them a path to playoff success but it just didn’t work out that way. These great afc qbs are athletic and can buy themselves time which exposes all the issues on the back end of their defense even if tua was healthy and they snuck by us there’s no shot they were beating the chiefs too that kc oline was too good last year.
-
They absolutely tanked their rebuild with that trade and the Brady tampering. Those two firsts could’ve gone a long way if used correctly the hill trade they traded pretty much all their wiggle room if they made a front office misstep for a great player If they added a linebacker that’s a beast in coverage and a good corner to play across from Ramsey Kohou could go back to the slot where he belongs and their defense would have a shot at being good

Not common at all, requires a very high completion percentage and yards per attempt. You need over 77.5% completion percentage, no ints, and 12.5 yards per attempt tua did not hit the max in the 70 point game against the broncos that should tell you how hard it is haha Mike white hit it on two passes though 😂
-
It’s a crazy mathematical formula based on yards per pass and completion percentage and turnovers a perfect score requires 77.5% completion percentage, 12.5 yards per attempt, no ints. There’s quite a few steps along the way where if you are over a certain number it gets rounded down so you don’t need to complete every pass to hit the max number

Imagine having a perfect qb rating and less incompletions than tds and you’re the second ranked player on your team 😂

It’s an awkward situation where people are likely gonna blame the dolphins for not being as good as people thought more than giving credit to the bills defense. it’s entirely possible that the dolphins offense is that good and McDermott put together a masterful gameplan though. people only really remember 13 seconds and the bengals smoking us in the playoffs which is not surprising but the bills have had some stellar defensive performances in big games too. That 17-3 playoff win over the ravens was pretty impressive and he has made mahomes look pretty bad the last few meetings too obviously yesterday was a great effort on the defensive side as well
-
I just can’t understand why the dolphins didn’t look at what the jets are doing and try to emulate it. The dolphins are 100% win now from a front office perspective but their team needs to rely on winning a shootout against josh Allen and the bills defense to win the division. their team is built completely backwards to compete with the top dogs in the AFC. Tua is not gonna win a shootout/track meet against mahomes or josh Allen. If the bengals don’t get their offensive line turned around the dolphins match up pretty well with them at least because pretty much all they’ve loaded up with on the defensive side is pass rushers the jets could pick up a veteran qb for relatively cheap and they are at the same level of being a contender as the dolphins…it may be less fun to watch than what the dolphins are doing but who cares

The Dolphins are in huge cap trouble moving forward...

Their team is vastly underperforming the last few years based on the resources they’ve spent and nobody is really talking about it they are in firm ‘win now’ territory from a front office perspective but the team still has massive holes. Blowing that first on Bradley Chubb and losing a first for Brady tampering sunk them when tyreek starts to decline they are a 5 win team -
If armstead or Connor Williams are out for an extended period I think his mvp chances are out the window. Even a lot of the bad/mediocre teams in the league have good defensive lines. They’ve still got: chiefs jets x 2 eagles cowboys titans Commanders Bills with von miller patriots ravens Can’t play the broncos every week lol and his competition for mvp has 1 or 2 games against the broncos remaining Chiefs have two against the broncos and two against the raiders. Honestly mahomes winning mvps should come with an asterisk at this point, josh has 4 games against two of the best defenses in the league, tua has 6 games against three of the best defenses in the league, burrows got 4 against good defenses no idea what to make of the Steelers yet, mahomes has 6 games a year against bad defenses
-
Josh has also been pulled early/has just run out the clock in 3 straight games because his team is absolutely destroying people. He’s the leader of an offense who’s point differential is comically large haven’t looked it up yet but I’d guess josh is a slight mvp favorite right now. The mvp odds aren’t just a snapshot of who has the best stats at the current moment either, they have to bake some future predictions into it as well. For that reason I doubt tua is even 2. The offensive line discrepancy between the bills and chiefs vs the dolphins is massive so it’s really hard to envision tua winning the mvp when you’re trying to predict out the rest of the season

Dolphins need a full defensive rebuild to compete with buffalo…just a terrible matchup for them. Their defense is built pretty much the complete opposite way of what it should be and their one advantage of having a bunch of good pass rushers has been pretty much neutralized by the bills oline improvements and josh being mobile on an individual game basis anything can happen of course, but in a big sample size Miami is gonna lose a lot more than they win against us. They are just allergic to picking up LBers that can hold up in pass coverage
-
It’s crazy because even the game we lost against them last year we moved the ball with ease and it was pretty flukey that we didn’t score more points. They really haven’t made josh look even mediocre a single time. That other loss his rookie year he had a couple turnovers but went off for 135 rushing yards and 221 passing yards
-
I swear it started off as a joke about him trying to give her a friendship bracelet then both their pr people were like ‘hold up I think we’ve got something here’ lol
-
Yea maybe not…especially after that fumble. Rough
-
I think we are the first team that wised up to using the motion to help us jump the snap count for whatever reason. the DL was all over the throwing lanes right off the snap like they were getting shot out of cannons. There seems to be a disadvantage to the way the dolphins use motion that wasn’t really capitalized on until this week.
-
8 maybe…depends on what happens with this one. The chiefs offense looking disjointed is no fluke though is all I’m saying.
-
It’s mediocre in the right way…there’s no world where Wilson is better than rodgers but he is avoiding a ton of sacks that rodgers likely wouldn’t.
-
Jets legitimately have the defensive weapons to stop the chiefs…this isn’t like a ‘just sneaking past the raiders because we don’t care that much’ type situation imo
-
Yea that’s one of those plays that’s a penalty by rule but I’m sure guys get away with that all the time
-
Jets are just well built to slow down teams like the bills and chiefs. They can stop the run from a light box and blanket wrs all at once. I feel like we’ve gotta go more under center/play action in the next matchup Spreading the field with wrs and mixing in an occasional run out of shotgun just isn’t doing it
-
I still don’t really get this label… he makes positive ‘sugar high josh’ plays with regularity and everyone takes it for granted. But the moment one goes wrong everybody instantly piles on
-
Mahomes can use the whole field and actually go through progressions/make plays when the pocket breaks down. With tua you at least know exactly what you’re going to get coming into the game From a skill position talent level though I’d agree
