  1. Lamar looked completely unprepared for the bills to not be running nickel all game which was a huge contributing factor in his two turnovers…took them far too long to figure it out.. coaching played a huge role imo and often does when Lamar has a bad game they were just forcing Henry into a brick wall and putting Lamar in obvious passing situations really often early and Milano did a really nice job spying him outside of one play where Lamar ran right through him somehow lol. Seemed like they wised up a bit and brought in justice hill who gave them an outlet in the passing game and brought Henry back in when the defense wore out a bit but it was just too late
  2. It does…I think that was the original whole point of this thread lol people would consistently talk up Harbaugh while sh*tting on mcd for experiencing a lot of the same stuff back when this was originally posted. I don’t think anyone has a problem with people being anti both guys
  3. If Allen was doing that stuff I respectfully don’t think the heat would be off mcd/brady at all based on some of the posts I read on here often and nor should it be really a lot of people complain about it as too conservative or whatever but reducing turnovers was a core focus of our offensive philosophy this year from a coaching/playcalling level all the way down to a player level. A qb out there consistently torpedoing his teams playoff run by taking crazy risks has to reflect on the coach at some point and I think we’re at that point with Baltimore. Lamar seems to get flustered when a defense throws something unexpected together and a lot of times regular season teams just run what they’re good at without varying too much but these better coaches in the playoffs can throw anything at you. I think they’re failing from a coaching perspective quite a bit
  4. Idk why we hold opposing coaches to a lower standard than our own when having these discussions. The ravens were unprepared for the heavier stuff the bills ran on defense and Lamar was completely flustered early. A full half of football just to get your team going is way too long in the later rounds of the playoffs and that’s exactly what would be getting said by everyone here about mcd had the results been reversed.
  5. At some point being ‘in the position’ but not doing anything with it has to mean something…it’s the same situation as mcd it’s a real difficult decision to tell where that point is. Not sure where that point is myself but by all advanced metrics that ravens team was an absolute monster this year and they didn’t even come particularly close to a superbowl and continued their pretty dismal run against the chiefs and lost to the bills in the playoffs again. It’s gotta not feel great in Baltimore right now
  6. They’ll do a better job in that dept than Houston did imo…Baltimore was tough cuz they’ve got two really good TEs. Noah gray ain’t a slouch at all but I don’t think that duo is Andrews/likely level at this stage of kelces career despite Andrews kind of blowing the game 🤣. Bills chiefs is essentially a division game at this point I don’t think Houston had as much intel
  7. This year he had one of the best DVOA offenses in nfl history going against a supposedly pretty mediocre defense and lost too. If you reverse the teams here and the bills were the team doing that I don’t think there’d be a pro mcd side at all on here lol I’m pretty high on mcd and id have trouble supporting him after that
  8. I think they probably do send in objections/complaints to the league officially idk how much it matters though
  9. Lol I bring this up all the time and probably have in this thread already but lost track 🤣…and in 2023 the chiefs could’ve delivered the likely killshot to us making the playoffs in the regular season and they blew the game and quite literally cried about it. At worst the bills are 2-3 against kc in full playoff atmosphere/both teams completely emptying the tank type games. It’s just pure luck for kc it has shaken out the way it has…a lot of those games playoffs or not easily could’ve gone either way
  10. The bills get more straight up phantom holds called on them than any other team I’ve watched and it’s always rather suspiciously when they’re about to run away with a game lol probably a coincidence but it’s uncanny
  11. If the team is not trying in the last big hurdle to an undefeated season or when you’ve got a shot to prevent really the only team that beats you from making the playoffs in 2023 I’m not sure what the hell they’re doing 🤣 these teams play eachother tough and any game could go either way…it’s mostly luck the tiny sample size of playoff games all fell one way and the huge regular season games fell the other and I don’t think they want to believe that. Makes every game a little scarier
  12. If that second tush push got stopped it’s a sure loss imo..the third down call still sucked assuming Josh just didn’t go rogue but I think the ‘worst case scenario’ is getting downplayed a bit
  13. I think much like there’s homers that will defend anything there’s anti homers that will attack anything and sometimes a decent topic that’s somewhere in the middle and should lead to a good discussion like this one gets posted that one of the sides think is a classic overly negative/positive post 🤣 I can see the other side of this one but it gets harder and harder to keep saying turnovers are luck every single week for me. To me those two things are related and the only reason we got conservative was because of the turnovers. If you take the turnovers away you completely change the game for both teams yea maybe we have a game where we don’t force any turnovers and lose, but it’s just as likely we have a game we’re firmly in control of that we turn it over ourselves going for the throat and the other team steals a win imo It probably gets a little grating for the optimistic side that when we win a close one it’s always ‘we could’ve lost’ but if we lose a close one it’s not ‘we could’ve won if we made another play’ it’s ’we suck’ lol
  14. Mahomes threw two ints…one was on the first pass and one was desperation late
  15. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to me personally to cherry pick just the playoff games but maybe I’m in the minority. The chiefs last two games against us were to clear the last big hurdle towards an undefeated season and to eliminate the only team that beats them pretty consistently from the playoffs the year before. I would at minimum include those two games into the overall ‘how do the bills play against the chiefs in humongous games’ conversation. The playoffs only sample size just seems way too small to conclude anything especially when every game regular season or playoffs is your classic ‘could go either way late’ type game It’s crazy how much one game can change the whole narrative, last year we were probably a mess at linebacker away from being 5-1 against kc in our last 6 with the only loss being the 13 seconds debacle. But now it’s ‘we’ll never win the playoff game’
  16. Oh yea on the offensive side that’s kind of a different discussion because we we have a straight up freakishly low turnover number. Not sure what the lowest in history is but we have to be close. Defensive takeaways were in line with a handful of other teams, on the offensive side it’s pretty much just us and LAC. Some of it seems to be an offensive philosophy type thing for those two teams but that doesn’t explain all of it. The defense forcing an INT because they’re getting a lot of presssure/disguising coverages well and scooping up a fumble because Lamar was under pressure and frustrated in the first half didn’t feel like a lot of luck to me though. Not sure what to classify the Andrews punch out as…I guess lucky he didn’t secure it better? Still a really nice defensive play though I miss 538 sports
  17. Thinking the chiefs game is harder is more trust your gut type analysis than on field play/advanced metrics/matchup type analysis imo the bills win over the ravens is getting minimized a bit because people just automatically assume playoff Lamar will blow one at some point, the chiefs are getting hyped up cuz the narrative is they’re unbeatable. That ravens team by pretty much all advanced metrics was an all time great team. The chiefs are a very good team.. Chiefs definitely have a really good chance to win not trying to say it’s an easy game by any means but it’s a couple tiers below Baltimore imo. Doesn’t mean it’ll go the same way though. Football is way too high variance to pull the ‘well we beat the better team so we’re clearly gonna beat this team too’
  18. I wouldn’t argue they won because of turnovers…the point I disagree with is the implication going around that turnovers are ‘luck’. in fact I think your two points are related and the bills got more conservative on offense because of the turnovers. You take some of those away and you completely change what the bills offense does too this whole yea but if the ravens didn’t fumble…. type stuff is pretty irrational. You can’t just take a big play away from a team and assume all their decision making stays the same
  19. They’re kind of Baltimore lite…won’t be an easy game were it to happen but I’d feel a little better than the Baltimore game. Saquon adds a lot in the passing game so there’s a new wrinkle to worry about but Lamar is much better than hurts imo
  20. My wife and I completely lost our voices haha trying to talk to eachother the long ride home was pretty hilarious 🤣
  21. I mean…the guy was an all pro last year that frequently gets the toughest matchup on the field and is used in so many different ways. Nickel corner is arguably the hardest position in football. He’s not getting targeted because he’s ‘bad‘ you replace taron with anyone else in the league outside a small handful of guys and we get worse. If he can’t go we are in trouble
  22. Kind of worked out in our favor there tbh…ravens scored with wayyy too much time left
  23. Why do the negative posts keep getting worse the more we win 🤣 should we win the superbowl I just can’t wait for the compilation of these kind of posts haha
  24. Lamar looked absolutely lost in that first half which led directly to one of the turnovers and arguably both. Henry was held completely in check which seemed to cause a lot of panic on the Baltimore side. To not credit the bills players/coaches and make it sound like luck is completely ridiculous. Philly got outgained by a ton and beat Baltimore also, it’s not like the bills were the only team to win that style of game against them
  25. Granted we got that pretty soft dpi which balanced it out but I really think that game is a blowout if Dawkins doesn’t get called for that laughable hold after the INT.. we never quite ran it up into ‘ravens must abandon their gameplan’ territory but that drive probably would’ve done it
