  1. That third down play looked good on the first drive someone just missed the pick can’t remember who it was. It was diggs on a quick out in single coverage with a pick helping
  2. By rule it’s correct but there are plenty of times they don’t call that…it’s the inconsistencies across various crews that frustrates me. Totally get your point though I don’t think there’s been a play in his career where Eli apple hasn’t hit someone early when he’s not getting torched lol watched him do it all game Sunday night
  3. Grounding needs a MASSIVE overhaul if that’s not grounding
  4. That was a shame his positioning was great and he just blew the tackle lol.
  5. The initial quote I did not like but def agree with your post lol. Only real disagreement I have is those playoff games were losing the defense is not playing like the #1 or #2 defense. they had a great game against baltimore in the divisional a few years ago but that was pretty much it. josh rescued them from a loss to Indy the week before that, he darned near pulled that chiefs divisional game out the next year and the defense collapsed, vs cincy everyone was bad, vs NE everyone was good. There hasn’t really been a time where the defense has stepped up and bailed us out in the playoffs outside of that taron Johnson pick six. the bills defense has kind of reminded me of the dolphins offense, they do a ton of damage against bad/mediocre teams and then don’t really show up when you need a couple plays/stops out of them in the playoffs they can’t get them. Then you’ve got someone like kc on the flip side who’s defense doesn’t get the accolades during the regular season but they are always making those big stops in the playoffs
  6. This is real backseat driver type criticism that he’s been goin through lol. This board will call him sugar high josh when he comes in amped up and tries to make ridiculous plays happen, but the guy is trying to get into a good headspace where he can make smart decisions now and he’s being criticized? It’s a very mental game
  7. This argument is really getting pushed to the limit with the officiating across the league this year lol like how much better than your opponent can you really be expected to play to make up for hugely impactful blown calls? if it was one here or there I’m with you…but it seems like every late game stretch is just plagued with them now all across the league
  8. Mike evans has always seemed like he only runs deep routes no matter what the situation/opponent is doing lol I don’t think they’ll hold up in the trenches long enough for that The interior got smoked in that game but nobody is as bad as saffold…him somehow weaseling his way onto the pro bowl roster then nobody picking him up in the offseason made me chuckle
  9. I don’t think Miami is gonna dominate the division…they have still yet to win a game against a good, non injury plagued team in mcdaniel’s tenure so far. Everyone gets lost in the gaudy stats but it’s all against meaningless teams and they serve no purpose in predicting how they will play against the better teams the tua injury gets used as an excuse but he definitely didn’t look good against the bengals pre injury and he had that 4 game losing streak against chargers, niners, bills, packers this year they’ve looked very average against the bills and eagles and the pats had a good second half on defense against them also
  10. I think we’ll get the classic bucs move the ball and get held mostly to fgs game and josh will make 1-2 ridiculous plays that are the difference in the game. One of these weeks the bills are gonna say f it and just run no huddle most of the game and destroy somebody lol why not this one I’m goin 31-20
  11. He can get the plays in a little sooner to actually give his qb a chance to read the defense lol…you just can’t have plays coming in at the very end of the communication period…it puts you at a massive disadvantage. Substitutions are late, you can’t really vary the snap count much, qb gets less time to audible/diagnose presnap reads. I’ve been back and forth on Dorsey…when you watch the film there’s usually counters to whatever the defense is doing on any given play, I just don’t know how realistic it is that the qb can diagnose that quickly when they’re getting to the line with the playclock winding down every snap. Seems like when josh goes no huddle everything looks a lot more streamlined idk that Dorsey is calling a bad game necessarily but he’s gotta get those plays in faster.
  12. Short week at home…lot of important bucs probably playing banged up. Bucs are at a big disadvantage before you even get to the X’s and O’s. Spread has actually gotten bigger in buffalo’s favor this feels like one of those games where people are gonna overthink it betting wise and end up being very wrong to me lol even with the offense gettin roughed up we have still been a little bit better execution on 1-2 plays away from winning all our games
  13. They’re really 0-3 getting late game stops the last 3 weeks but got bailed out by the refs against the giants. It’s getting a little ridiculous like I know there’s injuries but you can’t get one of those stops? I think that’s a pretty low bar only silver lining is we’ve looked pretty decent against the run even missing Ed/Daquan
  14. I don’t think he’s regressed I think he’s just having more games where he and the oline aren’t helpin eachother out. He had some absolute stinkers in the Daboll days when that was the case as well ala the 6-9 loss to the jags. Daboll got out when stuff got really hairy in the trenches, he missed the year of saffold and brown playing like garbage at the same time lol. And this year it looks like morse is cooked and Dawkins has taken a step or two back from the Daboll days. Josh is def gonna have to find ways to improve for sure but he was just as bad if not worse under these conditions in previous years so I wouldn’t say he’s trending downwards a lot of offenses have been struggling this season but with the great teams which I am sure we were one of pre all those defensive injuries, the defense bails the offense out when needed To go further than that, the actual situation of the interception matters a lot too. A 60 yard bomb on third down that goes for a pick really doesn’t hurt strategically at all and is way more benign than throwing a pick on your own side of the field I think about half of his turnovers have not been very impactful
  15. Idk how much a player new to the roster would contribute before playoff time so we’re still gonna have to gut out a playoff run even if we make a trade.
  16. I’m not a film expert by any means but it looks like the qb spy/pocket getting wrecked straight up the middle without the defense having to commit too many extra resources has been limiting his scramble opportunities. I also doubt they’re telling him ‘don’t scramble if it’s there’
  17. It’s definitely a little of both so I don’t disagree with that either. Instant pressure up the middle without even having to blitz seems pretty frequent now and you’ve got 3 linemen in your lap and no throwing lanes I think edge pressure is a little easier to deal with because it isn’t really obscuring your vision or messing up throwing lanes he absolutely passes up plays he should take and the oline has been bad though both are certainly true. If morse turns it around I think it’s gonna clean up a lot…feels like he’s getting tossed around the last few weeks
  18. It’s not even the amount of injuries I feel like we’re on par with other teams there, it’s that the injuries just found the most important players on defense lol idk if we could’ve picked more impactful players for them to happen to on defense if we tried
  19. Offenses are getting massacred by defensive lines this year it seems like…even with the nfl turning a blind eye to pretty obvious holds
  20. It’s def much improved from a physical skill perspective but they are getting outschemed badly the last few weeks it seems i think that time to throw comes with a huge asterisk…there’s def times he holds it too long for sure or misses a hot read but there’s also many times that instant pressure forces him to run around like a lunatic for 5 seconds. If we had an average qb back there the time to throw numbers would be much worse and the sacks would be much higher
  21. It’s easier to create but how often does that hypothetical team play in the Super Bowl? Maybe you can count the eagles nick foles Super Bowl as that although that was kind of forced due to an injury they were still paying another qb. Great pass blocking has felt like the constant for me in very successful teams. Cincy is up and down based on how those guys are playing up front as are we. Kc is always near the leagues best in pass blocking, Detroit has been near the leagues best since they went on their tear midseason last year, philly is near the leagues best, baltimores offensive line is playing well this season. not to say josh is blameless by any means but qbs start to spiral/lose confidence when they are frequently under pressure and they start second guessing everything which causes the mistakes to pile up. I think we made a solid attempt at building our roster by the appropriate model it just hasn’t worked out so far…a sure thing wr, sure handed slot ‘receiver’ that can move the chains, solid investments in the offensive line, qb that can elevate a few role players, defense that has a few game changers that can get the big stops in the playoffs. things have been going sideways the last few weeks though. morse looks washed which is causing immense pressure on the interior. defense lost literally all its gamechanging players. Qb is overwhelmed and losing confidence. There’s a lot of things that are causing bad play to snowball right now and nobody trusts the other units to bail them out I went on a wild tangent haha but I think the odds of making a superbowl is a very long shot without 1-2 great receivers and a qb that can turn broken plays into huge gains and elevate the 3rd or 4th wr options. 49ers will always be consistent with purdy but I don’t think they’ll ever win it.
  22. The context gets lost when we’re losing and spiraling on this board. Josh absolutely misses reads and doesn’t set the correct protections at times and misses throws but all the great qbs do. People just don’t dig into the film of other teams much playing in non bills games can he improve absolutely, does he have inherent flaws that put him way behind other top qbs…I don’t think so
  23. I wonder if niners fans are saying the opposite right now haha. They just lost to a Justin Jefferson-less Vikings team and the pj walker browns so they’re goin through it also right now 😂 A win ahead of us with easily the best roster in the nfl. Kirk cousins curse means they ain’t appearing in the superbowl too haha nobody has ever lost to Kirk cousins and made a superbowl in the same year
  24. I don’t think he’s regressing…he’s had these issues forever but he’s been playing under ideal circumstances in the regular season a much higher percentage of the time up until this point. I think he’s actually playing a little bit better under these circumstances than before honestly. Usually when his internal clock gets scrambled like it has been and he loses confidence we are absolutely dreadful Somehow quoted myself and can’t delete it 😂
  25. I agree with a lot of this, the average time to throw was a bit inflated by a handful of jailbreak scenarios where he had to run around like an idiot though. the giants game felt a lot more like josh was a victim than this one to me. I think the delayed blitzes the last few weeks have him rattled and he’s completely lost faith in his internal clock it all kind of goes hand in hand, if the offensive line holds up a little better josh will improve and if josh plays a little better the offensive line will improve
