Our team seems to only play well when the pressure is at its absolute highest possible point these days lol this might have scared me more a few years ago. Spread is up to -10 despite the over/under dropping to account for the weather for all those wind doomers out there 🤣 -
Gabe Davis PCL sprain, not considered major

Def hurts those outside runs and he randomly has a huge game but there’s a lot of mistakes in the josh/davis connection too -

It’s really not that simple…if you can’t really attempt to pass, the run game suffers also if you can’t at least threaten that you’re two dimensional still. Yes there’s a point where there’s so much wind that neither team could pass but we are not near that level. The steelers run game is directly linked to how their qb is playing and it really didn’t pick up consistently until Rudolph started hitting passes downfield. A good chunk of the season the Steelers offense was an absolute disaster -

I mean you’re both makin valid points but the Steelers are 1-10 without watt lol that seems pretty relevant and isn’t exactly a small sample size. They could still win sure but I think you are big time underselling how good watt is…its not far off from us missing josh nobody seems to care about defense when talkin about best players in the league but you could def argue watt is the best player in the league -

I mean your logic is flawless when talking about playing football in a hurricane which will absolutely never happen lol. But in real life, most running football teams have to mix some passes in to keep safeties out of the box and struggle when they cannot do so. No one is taking mason rudolph seriously in 30mph winds and we will just load up against the run. With josh or mahomes etc you don’t have that luxury and the offense is still multi dimensional. -

These weather talks always make me chuckle lol josh is literally the prototypical bad weather qb and I don’t even think it’s really debatable. You’re worried because his stats get worse in bad weather and won’t even consider what that weather is doing to qbs that can’t throw 60 yard ropes or run like a fullback? the turnover points I totally agree with obviously but my response was to ‘the wind doesn’t care if you have a strong arm’ lol the wind absolutely cares -

Watt means more to the Steelers than all those guys combined mean to the dolphins…if people cared about defense when they handed out awards he’d be the mvp every year lol the dolphins d didn’t give us fits we gave ourselves fits with terrible execution once we hit the Miami 35 yard line…we marched up and down the field on them all night. -

I mean I think you’re saying the wind does care by adding ‘to some degree’ at the end of that lol a weaker armed qbs ball is getting blown off course much much more than a strong armed qb. josh plays worse in bad weather it’s no surprise at all but that doesn’t mean the other guy he’s up against in that weather doesn’t play even worse than their normal compared to josh vs his normal. He also runs like a fullback which makes bad weather tilt games his way too. -

I think people don’t really conceptualize point spreads that right way…they see the -9.5 on paper next to the smaller spreads for other games and theyre like oh wow the game won’t even be close but in reality you can have a 10 point game that’s really competitive the whole way to go a step further, -9.5 means they think they’ll get even betting between people thinking the bills win by more than 10 and people that don’t. It doesn’t really mean Vegas thinks we’ll win by 10. it’s a big spread by nfl standards but when you compare it to those ‘alright this one team doesn’t have much of a chance’ type college games that are usually in the 20s it isn’t anything like that -

18/20 for 134 yards when one of those plays was a 71 yard td against the ravens is the most nonsensical stat line I’ve ever seen. Without that play (which assuredly would not have happened with Kyle Hamilton playing) he was 17/19 for 63 yards lol -

They’re a 7 win team that was gifted 3 division games by outrageous good fortune and easily the weakest team in the afc playoff field without watt. Even with watt they’re probably the weakest but it’s closer. If we are worried about this game we would’ve been worried about every game lol Any boost Rudolph has brought over Pickett/trubisky is negated by not having watt and you’ve gotta wonder in the back of your mind why Rudolph was the last to get a shot of those guys lol -

It really kind of did lol we were passing the ball into the wind without much issue late in that one to the point where I think even belichick was pretty shocked. Not sure why we didn’t attempt it sooner. -

Idk that it does…Rudolph doesn’t have any zip on the ball and the Steelers rushing attack isn’t exactly otherworldly. They’ll be one dimensional all game. When we were weaker in the trenches on both sides this argument made more sense but I think bad weather favors Buffalo even more in this one -

It could be McDaniel just not running it as well it’s tough for me to say without being in the organization haha but it’s so odd to me that it’s like the same two-three route combinations all day that tua is throwing in the same amount of time at the same location on the field. They’re never gonna consistently beat good teams this way it just isn’t possible. My suspicion based on seeing tua pre McDaniel is tua is the issue but there’s no way to know for sure. seeing McDaniel praised as some offensive guru kind of makes me chuckle honestly lol. They disguise it pretty well presnap and it will fool the bad teams but it’s just too predictable for the better DCs -

I really don’t even think he’s a good qb for the mcdaniel/shanahan system either. Tua is holding the system back imo. Bills blitzed one time and gave tua plenty of time and he looked even more uncomfortable than usual which just can’t happen at an nfl level. Purdy runs it much better…he will at least hold the ball and attempt to make all the throws/give wrs a chance to adjust their routes. McDaniel seems like he has training wheels on the Shanahan system to baby tua along -

For sure and it’s completely illogical for so many other reasons too…I’m assuming the argument for his bills prediction was ‘well the division is much more competitive’ but apparently only more competitive against the bills and not the dolphins 😂 -

Imagine being 15 games off in the predictions of just your teams own division (assuming he’s a bills or dolphins fan) lol Can’t even hate on predictions that the dolphins win the division because they came close but man a team that famously never shows up against good teams turning in a crazy impressive regular season like that is just absurd. 11 wins was scraping the dolphins ceiling I’d say…I think the best they possibly could’ve done is 12. Predicting they win 15 on a bills board is borderline trolling -

The ‘not even close’ on the play just before halftime really got to me for some reason lol Johnson had a ton of momentum and it took a questionably illegal hit to reverse his momentum and keep him out of the end zone. It was in fact very close 😂 -

And we would be fortunate if Miami beats Baltimore somehow even though that validates them a bit so if we see Miami again it’s very good news -
I’m sure I’m in the minority but a couple of those felt pretty explicable to me lol. That defensive depth chart we had available mid jags game through NE(and especially NE because no Ed Oliver in that one either) was one of the worst units that took the field for any team this year talent wise. Even the bad defenses have 1 or two big time disrupters on the defensive side and we just had no one if Douglas was acclimated in the defense and on the roster right when tre white went down I think we win 13 games and maybe 14. Still an inexplicable loss to NYJ though 😂
