  1. All that definitely applies to just Josh too…a common theme in these bad games is he usually watches the defense get smoked early and tries to press a bunch, then the defense settles down a bit and he settles down a bit Baltimore was similar, the first half of Tampa a couple years back was similar, cincy playoff game was similar, there’s probably more but those immediately jump to mind 🤣
  2. This is from nfl analyst rumors so I’d def take it with a grain of salt but at the end of the day WE decided we didn’t want hopkins apparently not the other way around. He probably was very surprised by that and thought him wanting to go to Buffalo was the only part of the equation (if it’s true of course 😂) breer basically said we were worried how Diggs would take it if Hopkins took some of his touches so Hopkins is likely proof that social media stuff can matter actually
  3. I really do think Hopkins wanted to end up on the bills though so idk if that one is super irrelevant 🤣 beane just wasn’t gonna overpay and the titans did they were were worried they’d upset the flow of their offense aka diggs if they made that trade haha according to Albert Breer. No idea if that’s true but it is not an issue anymore lol
  4. I think his injured hand is makin it tough to really sell the play action for some reason…probably the oline not being great too
  5. Cam Lewis plays in the dime a lot right? I don’t think I’ve payed enough attention to it but if he was as bad at being the extra db in dime as he is at nickel corner I’d hope he wouldn’t be here 🤣
  6. The more I think about this game the more it feels like it’s got all the makings of a surprise over hit when everyone expected no points to be scored 😂. Was literally gonna pick your exact score but I’ll go: bills:24 jets:20
  7. I don’t think there’s one predictable ‘this always goes wrong’ issue when he has bad games. He threw a few balls with too much anticipation I’d say in quite a few ints last year where dbs easily baited him into a read, sometimes he bails pockets early cuz he loses confidence in his blocking, sometimes he passes up underneath stuff, sometimes he just can’t hit a throw in the intermediate-long ish range, sometimes he’ll take a huge sack waiting for a route to just about come open. I think one consistent issue is on the total ‘air it out’ type throws where he’s throwing it out there nearly as far as he can. He usually hits those 20-30ish yard lasers that we watched him miss a bunch of in that Texans game though. That game felt like a perfect storm of a lot of those things going wrong They don’t seem to be route adjusting the exact way he’s expecting all the time…not that that excuses plenty of throws he just flat out missed in that one it’s just an additive thing that made it even worse 🤣
  8. Probably a higher minor injury total but that right elbow injury on his throwing arm was absolutely the worst. That was like borderline ‘can’t play through it’
  9. That’s not really what I said, dumping more on the coach that is the only one doing his job and pulling his focus away could make the team worse and making a change that could very much make the team worse in the short term when you have aaron rodgers in the twilight of his career doesn’t make sense to me. you don’t see it that way and that’s totally cool too. We’ll have to wait and see how it plays out Yea of course the defense wasn’t happy that’s exactly what I’m saying lol. They wanted the offense to pull its weight so canning the defensive head coach a lot of them seem to really like probably had them very confused especially if he was going to do this same offensive playcalling move that ulbricht just did. Sauce was quoted as saying ‘If I’m being honest we’re doing this for him[Saleh] still…he changed my life’ so I don’t really believe this notion that everyone’s happy to see him go
  10. The one game being the last meeting seems relevant though to be fair haha. I watch enough jets football for it to classify as torture and that defense doesn’t look quite as great to me this year as years past…the dline play has been pretty bad. Corners are extremely good outside but nickel corner seems gettable even if Carter plays and the safety play has been meh. statistically they’ve faced three even worse offenses than us believe it or not so it’s masking some issues if you just look at stats. I don’t think the Darnold Vikings offense will be any better than ours when the dust settles either even if we are as bad as everyone is guessing They’ve actually faced a lot of good defenses though and Morgan Moses will be back replacing fashanu (who looks really bad so far) so I think this game is a pretty sneaky ‘the offenses play better than anyone expects’ type game
  11. You probably would if it came to that but I don’t see a world where it comes to that 😂. That wouldn’t move the needle for the raiders at all
  12. It’s so crazy that that is somehow not an excuse for losing a close game to a very healthy chiefs team lol. Injuries are no excuse sure but within reason. If the chiefs were the team that lost enough linebackers that aj klein got 98% of the linebacker snaps over Bolton they would’ve gotten boatraced
  13. He was looking really good before the knee injury but the way it went down I’d agree. I think he had 8 sacks in like 10 games in that season I’ve gotta doublecheck obviously the DV suspension is all on him haha can’t blame the injury gods for that one can’t remember if we had any interest the year the rams traded for him but the cruel irony of all this is if we grabbed him mid season in 2021 I think we win the Super Bowl. He was great for the rams and looked just as good for us pre acl injury Yea this is not a flat bust situation where he underwhelmed with us pre injury. He was great in the playoffs with the rams and picked up right where he left off with us.. I remember people being very concerned when he was out and our pass rush fell off a cliff if memory serves
  14. Yea I remember us all saying all the same things we are now leading up to that second matchup because it was coming right on the heels of that broncos loss and we roughed them up. Granted their qb was Zach Wilson but still haha he had beaten us before. im still pretty peeved by that obvious block in the back on their punt return in that week 1 game but I guess it wouldn’t have changed much as we lost a home playoff game anyway
  15. I still think about that peterman game from time to time 🤣. It’s so funny cuz the offense was actually moving the ball the first couple plays and I believe the first pick was an unlucky-ish tipped ball or something like that and then it just snowballed out of control lol after the first two picks(one being a pick six) the game was only 7-7 somehow. Chargers missed a fg after that second pick
  16. It does seem uneccessarily semantic argument-like in here after games like that lol at the end of the day no matter what was who’s fault josh had a handful of plays he flat out missed that could’ve swung the game and he’s getting the big paychecks. Things are makin his life harder sure but he’d be the first to admit he could’ve won that one by just playing better on his own
  17. Wasn’t a jets safety pretty much Josh’s leading receiver in New Jersey last year 😂
  18. I think if ulbricht was head coach and had a competent DC in there it couldn’t be worse than Saleh, but now that he has head coaching responsibilities on top of his normal job things absolutely could get worse. They took the one guy doing his job and filled his plate with other stuff and replaced a terrible play caller with a terrible play caller. I mean we’ll see for sure…but I think they just torpedoed any possible chance of Rodgers doing anything in probably 50% of his remaining seasons also I doubt the players took it super well I get that it was a long shot that Saleh does anything meaningful this year but they went from long shot to no shot imo.
  19. I think they were facing a full on mutiny from players probably thinking ‘yea Saleh isn’t successful but how did this firing fix anything. Were still in this and you quit on us’ so they pretty much had to do something may or may not involve rodgers. When woody and Aaron are involved really anything is possible haha woody might’ve just woken up in a bad mood…I heard some people saying that woody had friends at that London game and called it a must win
  20. I was poking around the nfl reddit and fans with familiarity with downing at OC seem to think he is even worse than Hackett 🤣. He had a short stint at OC for the titans and the raiders a few years before that. Hardly ever held on to a multi year OC gig in a 20 year career that’s a bit of a red flag
  21. There’s just no way there’s players involved from us. 2nd and 5th is already more than beane would likely offer, and if we’re already offering those picks then the players have to be so inconsequential that they’d mean nothing to LA anyway. They’re much more valuable to us because they know our playbook and can come in in a pinch due to injury and would just be wasted roster space for LA. It just doesn’t make sense that that was our offer
  22. How many mid season player for player trades even are there in all of the nfl? Lol. I can’t think of any offhand I don’t know why you’d even send players to la in this situation it makes no sense
  23. I can see it, but on the flip side it’s almost impossible to know that the alternative is going to be better and they’re basically back to square 1 once Rodgers retires in 1-2 years. I would’ve rolled with Saleh for this year at least personally, mostly because you’re dumping a bunch of extra responsibility on top of ulbricht who was doing his thing well.
  24. Haha I bet they probably could honestly 😂. Could be just me but it seems like teams are being much more cautious with injuries the last few years. I guess you kind of have that luxury early in a season when no one is really gonna run away with the division
  25. This is a pretty interesting thought experiment from a team perspective (unless you’re guaranteed the Super Bowl of course 🤣). Let’s say you were the Super Bowl year rams and someone told you ‘if you make all these moves you’ve got a 50/50 shot at the superbowl but you will not be realistically competitive for 3 years after that and it is a complete unknown past then. Do you do it? even if you’re the best roster by a decent margin it’s still really tough getting through a single elimination playoff structure…its just so high variance
