Poyer was not an impressive signing either at the time when it happened and had an injury slowed him down in camp the same thing that is now happening with edwards very well may have happened to him which is the point I was making you may ultimately be right that edwards isn’t good but it’s just too soon to tell anything

Hines was a completely different situation. It was mostly a player for player trade of a guy (Zach moss) that really wasn’t doing much for us and we acquired a gadget-y player with a high ceiling for little to no risk. trying to compare ‘how to use’ Samuel and MVS to Amari Cooper is wild and I feel like you know that 🤣 don’t think I have to get into that one too much how do you know it’s not gonna be ‘teach him a handful of plays to get him on the field the same week’ from what mcd said in the press conference is what I don’t understand from your posts. You say you just paraphrased but its pretty much just your personal bias that’s getting you there. the mcd press conference criticism stuff has been very weird, you have to think of it as everything he is telling you in the press conference he is also telling his upcoming opponents. He’s not gonna share the inner workings of the teams plans in a public forum like that. In fact if I had to guess, I think cooper probably is playing and beane spilled the beans by mistake on that podcast because he couldn’t help himself lol

I think that’s part of the issue with diggs…our front office was reportedly pretty worried about how diggs would react to losing receptions to another big time wr when we were looking into Deandre Hopkins. If Diggs wasn’t so prickly im pretty sure we would’ve grabbed Hopkins in free agency Diggs wanted to be the guy and it just wasn’t working…seemed like he hit a wall last year and couldn’t handle the wr1 role anymore but didn’t seem too keen on anyone else stealing his thunder either.

He’s a known low key guy like that. I’m sure he’s thrilled he got traded and can work his way towards a big contract next year Watson was costing him a lot of money lol gets a chance to compete too.

The placement on those slants was all terrible but yea a bunch of those were on coop. Its gotta be hard to get in a rhythm playing with Watson because there were so many targets that were frustratingly terrible throws that aren’t seen here

You are comparing Mike Edwards’ time before he was in the bills system to poyers time in the bills system which isn’t apples to apples. poyer was frequently in the mid to high 50s in pff score with Cleveland before he came to Buffalo and wasn’t really thought of as a big time signing either at the time. They were lookin at him as safety depth…I think he played corner for Cleveland though

I mean I can’t speak for everybody disagreeing obviously haha but you got the disagreement from me for trying to extrapolate a coach’s tone in answering a question in a press conference into ‘the bills won’t know how to use cooper’ i thought that was a huge stretch. if you just said he didn’t sound actively excited in the press conference I wouldn’t have disagreed at all I think ulbrich is a bit of a dummy for confirming Adams is playing tbh I’m not really sure what that proves. Feels like a bit of a rookie mistake

There’s always a few modest restructures…probably will have in the 30 mil range id think (if we cut von) assuming a few of those. i don’t think it’s completely crazy to think cooper is resigned if it goes well especially if he likes where he’s at and does it at a slight discount

Context is pretty important id say…sometimes a really bad throw qualifies as a drop but when we read he has drop issues we’re picturing balls clanking right off his hands Watson has thrown him quite a few horrendous passes that yea maybe he should catch them but it’s understandable that he didn’t

Jets d is solid and afc playoff team worthy (I don’t think they’re tops in the league but they’re probably in the top third) and we absolutely pushed them around. The second half was mostly bollocks drive killing penalties as their defense (ex: Spencer brown just blocking a guy as normal) 😂. There’s definitely games like the jags game that I for sure wouldn’t read into at all. They seem bad at everything

There’s evidence of cooper doing it moving from Oakland to Dallas which id think is even more important. After the trade he played 9 games with Dallas and had over 700 yards and 6 TDs. He had two games with less than 7 targets in those 9 games and the first two games weren’t one of them

Oh yea they’re top 10 and definitely good but if you looked at just the season yardage stats without factoring in opponents you’d think they were a heck of a lot closer to 1 than 10

Diggs’ stats got a josh Allen boost for sure though and cooper hasn’t had that opportunity yet so that method of comparison is pretty misleading The qbs cooper has played for have not been nearly as good as what diggs had in buffalo not trying to say you’re wrong for preferring diggs necessarily it’s just not that ridiculous of a take I don’t really see it as an argument ender…I don’t see how cooper or any other good wr wouldn’t have made the same play in the same situation. The defender mistimed the hit and had to go super low to avoid an obvious pi that’s gotta be top 10 worst plays by an nfl defender of all time

Not trying to say cooper is way better post season for sure but this is a bit misleading, I feel like the bulk of those diggs playoff stats came in 2020 and he’s been mostly ehhhh since. cooper has had one playoff game with under 59 receiving yards in his career. Diggs def no shows at a higher rate I’d say

A lot of this is subjective and not worth debating but I really do think beane was eyeing this cooper move since the offseason and waited for terrible Deshaun Watson to tank coopers value a bit. We started out hot so it didn’t seem like as glaring of a need immediately too and honestly they pushed the jets defense around without cooper or diggs about as good as they ever have but were hampered by stupid pre snap penalties/dubious unnecessary roughness penalties in the second half. obviously they’re not gonna come out and say ‘yea our wrs are butt please anyone trade us one’ in the lead up to this season even if it was an internal concern 😂 I don’t know what you guys really are expecting out of press conferences from reading some of these posts today haha
