Fraud Bowl - Cowboys at Dolphins 4:25pm

It can’t backfire…the jags could win 11 and the colts or Texans win 10 and we are just as boned as if the jags win here. We have no tiebreakers against the colts or Texans at 10 wins either. Jags loss today is a big time positive result…maybe the division winner gets knocked down to 10 wins and no other team gets more than 9 this way -

It’s crazy that we talked about the scenario where we can miss the playoffs at 11 wins all week and literally every game needed for that appears to be going the other way so far 😂 -

I mean that isn’t really any better for us if the jags win 11 and colts win 10. Indy has us in conference record if that happens and we don’t win out. We gotta root for maximum afc south losses. Texans would have us in conference record if they win the last two and we lose to the dolphins also It’s huge that they both lost today because unless we lose out we leapfrogged one but there’s some work left to get us ahead of the other. We may not need it anyway depending on what the broncos and bengals do if all the afc south loses it opens up a lot more doors to a division winner winning 10 and everyone else stuck at 9 -

Knocking the whole division down a peg is nice though…keeps the options open. Maybe colts win it with 10 and the jags get stuck at 9 or something like that -

Huge results today if the colts and Texans losses hold up…one of them is essentially eliminated even if we only win 10 since they play eachother week 18…jags losing too would be crazy -

I don’t think those blocks would’ve held up which is why he didn’t run in that direction…of course we’ll never know though lol -
Did anyone get a lump in their throats...

Yea that’s the nuance that collingsworth whiffed in the broadcast lol…guys were already engaged with blockers 15 yards downfield from where the ball carrier had it…very much doubt that hole was holding up which is probably what spooked the chargers dude in the music city miracle the titans made that lateral and they had an escort of blockers running full speed at defenders -

My favorite is people saying we got lucky in the tb game because tb couldn’t complete a Hail Mary that not a single receiver could locate the ball during…not to mention tb only cut it to one score because they caught a fluky deflected pass td on the previous drive the more i think about it is the lucky camp thinks they should’ve scored on that lateral play which is a little outlandish imo 😂 -

Close losses normalize over time…we’ve been a good/great team all season from the point of view of all the advanced metrics. Whether that’s actually true is up to personal interpretation 😂 I do think there has been a big improvement to that post jax game stretch before we added Douglas and Joseph. We were dead last in defensive dvoa for that 4 game stretch -
Def not trying to call anyone wrong overall just speculating on what the chargers dude was thinking. He was still about 15-20 yards off from hitting that hole and guys were already engaging on their blocks…he was probably thinking they wouldn’t hold up and wanted to keep his lateral options open in the mcm play they had blockers out in front with full head of steam

I think he’s talking about the turnover narrative…there’s a lot of nuance to turnover stats that get lost when you just look at a total number imo but the media makes it sound like he is killing the team based on the totals..feels like a big chunk of his turnovers this year have been arm punts/deep throws. The muffed punt last night hurt a lot more than 90% of Joshs interceptions

What was lucky about that? We made the plays when it counted. That’s what the good teams do its kind of funny hearing fans claim we get lucky honestly…I can’t really think of an unluckier team. Kickers are 26/27 against us, wrs in close games pull the wildest most improbable td catches out of their a**, bass couldn’t make a fg in a close game, defenders have had insanely good hands anytime there is a ball anywhere near them…does anyone remember a single dropped interception? Lol I don’t. Injuries to pretty much every key defensive player, we were handpicked to be the guinea pig of jax having back to back London games. The list goes on. That gift in the giants game was a drop in the bucket -
Anyone saying the bills are lucky has not been paying attention lol. We might be the unluckiest team in the league…the giants gift didn’t really move the needle at all with how much bad luck we’ve had. Kickers never miss against us, wrs come down with wildly improbable tds against us with absolute regularity, bass has missed three fgs in our close losses, defenders intercept any pass that is anywhere near them, fumbles seem to never bounce back to us. Watching a non bills game is crazy defenders are dropping balls that hit them right in the bread basket 😂 injuries to pretty much every one of our key defensive players…its been a mess

We were due for a letdown in a short week after battling hard against great teams for three weeks…I’m not sure how much carryover to future games there will be. Guess we’ll find out

Bills @ Chargers post game thread

I missed a brief portion of the game having to pick up some stuff for a Christmas party…haha but the ‘missed wide open receivers’ that I saw was Josh having to throw off his back foot under pressure which is easier said than done. Ironically he made an absolutely huge play on the final drive doing just that so I’d say he more than redeemed himself a lot of times the broadcast angle makes throws look easier than they really are too because you don’t get to see what the passing lanes look like. There was another one where he had a guy open but had to throw the ball around a DLs arm. Kincaid still could’ve caught it but it wasn’t an easy catch. A view from behind the qb would be a lot more helpful in that regard -

I can’t claim to know how players feel but if you play hard and get beat up in a huge game then have one less day to recover and a cross country trip I could see coming out flat. I think it’s more about player recovery than getting to practice…guys were flying all over the field in that cowboys game and we didn’t see a lot of that last night I think they base their simulations on ELO ratings…I stumbled into a page explaining their methodology once but I doubt I’ll ever find it again 😂 -

It’s crazy that if you just pick the cowboys beating the dolphins without picking any other games the bills playoff odds don’t really increase at all in the nyt simulator haha. Seems like their simulations see the wildcard as the easier path now on that second point I think people might assume you’re talkin about a time zone change or something but really it’s about recovery time. Short week and you’ve gotta jam into a plane to fly cross country doesn’t seem optimal when the other team on a short week doesn’t have to do anything special. I’d be really interested to see the home vs road overall win percentage on short weeks -
I mean maybe you didn’t realize that that’s what you said? lol the gist was ‘people that think we can win it all are gonna be disappointed’ aka I can see things that the average person can’t because of my foresight that the bills won’t do something that is extremely extremely difficult for even the best roster to do and notoriously takes some good fortune. I see this around here a good amount…there’s nothing wrong with being critical at all but people around here are like no chance we beat the chiefs or cowboys we are screwed then we do and the retort is …well we won’t win the Super Bowl and people think that somehow validates all their negative opinions if they’re right 😂 a handful of good teams that could’ve won it all don’t every season. If you had said something like ‘the bills won’t make it out of the first round’ that’s at least a fairly bold statement with some substance. But saying a team won’t win the superbowl is essentially meaningless…even someone like the ravens is only 14% or so to win it right now so if you said ‘x team won’t win the superbowl’ about any afc team you’d probably be very safe.

That could possibly be a bills fan only thing? I heard a lot of people saying it had the feel of a trap game and the bills need to be careful. I read a lot of the betting picks type sites though so maybe that’s why I saw that lol There were actually a few posters here that said we never play well on the west coast now that I think about it. I think the biggest piece that made people nervous was the bills having a short week and having to travel cross country…I mean you may say that’s an excuse too but the way I’ve heard players talk about how much recovery time they need in interviews it sounds like that could be a big deal. I think it’s fair to say it shouldn’t have been that close but at the same time I don’t think that not great play will carry over to future games
-
I mean it’s a real thing so I think you went a little too hard on him haha interim coaches have a winning record and they all took over for coaches that got fired And look at someone like Josh Dobbs who went off for a few games before there was film of him in the minny offense then he got absolutely destroyed and promptly benched obviously you’re entitled to call it whatever you want it’s certainly up to personal interpretation

I didn’t miss that point I just disagreed with another point you made in the same post 😂
