They’re saying him slamming on the brakes to change direction was him giving up on the play because the defense got burnt so badly that in their minds that had to be what happened. See mahomes slows down gradually to a jog and crouches down to try to draw a late hit…that’s the scummy bush league fake slide that you’re trying to label this as. Allen slamming on the brakes and changing direction is nowhere near either of these two plays it’s just complete nonsense that any nfl defender would interpret that as a slide. They took bad angles,tried to adjust, and got beat none of them quit on the play I will and have openly admitted when josh flops or does something bush league and this was neither

A fake slide should be penalized and if that rule existed it absolutely never would’ve been called on a play like this

They think the defensive players freezing momentarily on the juke is the same as giving up on the play lol. People callin it a fake slide are justifying it based on what the defense did and not what Josh did. Didn’t look like a sliding motion at all and he stopped so abruptly which would make literally no sense if he was planning on sliding…he could’ve jogged a few more yards and slid

Yes lol that’s the point of a juke…the safety completely blew his angle and ran himself out of the play. The defense didn’t just quit like the play was over at all they were TOO aggressive

There was a juke before that and the defender took a horrible angle because of it…he didn’t let up at all. If this somehow was a fake slide (it wasn’t) it didn’t work at all

Lolll ultimate troll job I applaud you sir…no one on the Steelers thought he was sliding there he was clearly loading up to truck a defender after juking…then when he very clearly was sliding later in the game they hit him late I do think they could be a little more lenient on the sliding qb late hits but there was no universe where that was a fake slide

I think there’s a bit of trolling in our gameday threads lol. Throughout the week there’s well articulated posts critical of the team that make sense but in the gameday thread it is the Wild West of bad football takes 😂
