  1. It’s apples and oranges…the jets are not tanking and will not be pulling absolutely unexpected plays out of their butts because why the heck not 😂. Severely doubt whatever happened behind the scenes did anything but divide the team further too. If they played their normal jets football they had a very good chance to win this one. There’s no way this move did anything but hurt their win percentage. we may lose it anyway but it won’t be because they fired their coach a team firing their defensive coach who’s defense was performing well in the midst of a division race is completely unprecedented…teams are 0-0 in this situation
  2. It was a game the jets had a very good chance of winning with their current coach though…usually what you’re thinking of is a tanking team with nothing to lose pulling out all the stops and upsetting somebody that was not the case here
  3. That feels like a gm thing more than a Saleh thing and I don’t think Rodgers can get him fired mid season but who knows 🤣 if Saleh didn’t want Adams it’s pretty doubtful Douglas does. And if Douglas wanted him and Saleh didn’t it probably happens anyway
  4. They are reportedly ‘shocked’ Is this sarcasm? Haha I mean wait to see if the jets go on a run at least before this post because this shock firing is getting universally panned right now 😂 ulbrich will probably do a decent job but that upheaval in a division race makes no sense
  5. Hearing he got escorted out I don’t see why mcd wouldn’t try that 🤣. They’re clearly worried it pissed him off enough that he’d take something with him
  6. Yea their performance the last two games seemed like the right time to bounce Hackett but they fired Saleh so the whole thing is pretty interesting
  7. Nobody cares about defense even though there seems to be a big time swing back towards it the last year or so. I think the second mcd goes we quickly realize a lot of our defensive players are extremely well coached scheme fits and the defense completely falls apart when a new coach brings in a new system. Maybe the offense improves but I don’t personally think it’ll be enough to improve the team in the short term 3 or so years of a new coach then maybe you’ve got a shot to outperform mcd if you get the hire right. Just doesn’t seem worth it until our playoff exits stop being extremely narrow losses to the chiefs while missing our most important defensive talent. Once that changes though and we start seeing more of that bengals playoff game then yea pull the trigger
  8. Maybe Saleh wanted Hackett gone but Rodgers stepped in and woody sides with Rodgers? Just spitballing here but it’s possible
  9. Yea that definitely could be and I’m not sure how the flight fiddles with things either. I don’t think they knew they were firing him until very recently but maybe the announcement timing isn’t solid evidence of that its coming out now he got escorted out by security, wasn’t allowed to address the players, and the defense is shocked by it which is all really interesting
  10. Yea that’s possible…do the coaches completely take Monday off though? I’m genuinely not sure. Tuesday at 11 seems like it puts you a bit behind the 8 ball I feel like where I’d probably wait til after the big division game coming up to do it. I think there was probably some big Saleh vs rodgers showdown that happened today that caused it anyway and they did it as early as they could but my main point was it doesn’t make a lot of sense that it was specifically game performance related
  11. Compounding dumb mistakes…i still think he’s a good coach but he’s so old and rodgers is so old…maybe you’re good for a year or so before they both retire? 🤣
  12. None of those teams puzzlingly fired the head coach before a huge division game for first place so I’m not sure this applies. There’s no way Saleh being removed has united the team. It very likely made whatever rift there is even worse
  13. Yea that’s definitely possible
  14. I literally cannot even fathom what else it could be haha. Rodgers must’ve told woody Saleh isn’t letting him do everything he wants to do. There’s no way Saleh had no supporters on this team so it’s gotta cause a divide. a lot of the times a team feels like they’re failing their head coach that they like, he gets fired, and it’s a shock to the system and they pick it up for a few games. I don’t think that’s what is happening here. there’s probably a Saleh supporting camp and a Rodgers supporting camp and the Saleh side is pissed
  15. I feel like this practice is pretty overblown…the jets would likely use the knowledge Saleh gave us against us knowing he’s going to do it and you basically end up in the same spot as you didn’t get any info at all it would be pretty funny though 😂
  16. I don’t think this is your standard ‘the whole team is united under a new head coach’ situation. Its pretty reasonable rodgers forced Saleh out and the team is in even more disarray now because Rodgers sees himself as the real head coach. the firing makes absolutely no sense otherwise.. in fact, I think this turned a 50/50 loss into an 80/20 win if you’re gonna fire a head coach mid season, it’s happening IMMEDIATELY after the most recent game unless there is massive massive dysfunction which completely forces your hand. You don’t wait until after the prep would’ve started for the next game. If the team was straight up tanking it wouldn’t matter much, but there’s no way they’re tanking with Rodgers
  17. I don’t think this decision is primarily based on the play on the field at all. Has to be a behind the scenes type thing
  18. His ‘I want to go to the jets’ talk really feels like he’s trying to get the bills and jets to battle it out over extension offers to me lol if that’s what it is it’s a pretty clever move
  19. This really strikes me as Rodgers kind of forced it turning players against Saleh and there’s a big time rift. I don’t think they qualify for the ‘the team rallies around a new head coach’ temporary boost
  20. I don’t disagree with a lot of this which is why I just don’t understand the firing at all…something absolutely crazy must’ve happened behind the scenes that forced their hand. They had a real shot to take the division lead this weekend and it’s a bit diminished now. I don’t entirely believe that Adams is watching the jets and 100% wants to go there though. I think he’s trying to get the bills and jets in a bit of a bidding war over an extension probably and I’m sure the raiders are all for it because they may get more return in the trade too. It likely won’t work and the raiders may unload him to the jets anyway if that’s what he’s doing though 🤣
  21. Man idk…that’s normally a ‘the team isn’t prepared for a significantly worse opponent playing with nothing to lose’ type situation and doesn’t really apply to a huge division game with massive implications in the standings the jets had a good shot in this game with Saleh and canned him. This is straight up unprecedented and makes me feel a little better about the game
  22. Did Saleh lose the locker room? Firing a coach in the lead up to a divisional game where the winner takes first place is probably the wildest decision I’ve ever seen
  23. You’re making conceptual mistakes here…the Coleman TD was RULED a td on the field. So there needs to be OVERWHELMING evidence in the review process to overturn it. Did his heel ever come down out of bounds in that infamous screenshot? It’s pretty much impossible to tell which is exactly what they concluded if it was ruled that he stepped out, it would’ve been tough to overturn also. The ruling on the field completely shapes the review process because the evidence needed to overturn the initial call needs to be clear But it was ruled incomplete on the field and you are glossing over that. Can you make a case it should’ve been ruled a catch on the field? Yea maybe. But that is not at all the same thing as there’s enough evidence to overturn it in a challenge. There’s absolutely no chance that call is overturned
  24. I was at that projection pre Milano injury then that dropped us to might not win the division but probably a wildcard team at worst. Then we lost Bernard and taron Johnson pretty early I just can’t think of three worst defensive players to take away really. People overlook it but the fact we stymied the tua dolphins with the available players we had is kind of unbelievable lol I really think that cardinals team is pretty good too.
  25. This might be a bit of a hot take but given the absolute mess of injuries on top of all the new players adjusting on top of the lack of wideout talent on top of a pretty tough three straight road game tilt early, I think we’re actually ahead of expectations at 3-2 and that might actually make grabbing a wr a logical move. This was looking like it was going to be a completely lost season leading in to week 1 before we even lost a few more impact players so spending future resources on a wideout probably didn’t seem worth it at first with all the holes I think you almost have to do it now because there’s definitely a path to a team that can go on a run. Some defensive players have really stepped up and the ones that havent should be back on the bench once some guys heal up
