Any stat heads out there know what the opposing teams fg percentage is on us from 59+ lol the last three I can remember were the eagles 59 yarder last year and the chiefs 62 yarder a couple years back all makes -

Ah yea that was it…the throwing was not the right decision for sure but this notion that the Texans expected it so a run would’ve worked is completely wrong imo. I think there’s a very good chance they stuff three runs for no gain or a loss. so we definitely did the wrong thing and I’m all for people being angry but I think the coaching staff overcorrected for the situation where we get stuffed, kick an average Martin punt from the end zone and lose without the Texans even needing to run a play before the fg. it’s definitely on the coach for not trusting the punter who ended up getting a good punt off at minimum any way you look at it because he did punt it well. If they knew what the Texans drive start would be ahead of time there’s no way they pass -

They couldn’t run on obvious running downs at all too for the record haha not saying you’re wrong though 🤣. I haven’t quite given up on the offense yet, I think SOME of it is the new guys not really knowing what Josh likes them to do on those scramble drill type plays yet which there were a lot of because of the oline play. Samuel was wide open on one of those final three throws and Josh either completely missed him or thought he would sit and not continue running across the field. there was an earlier play where Mack continued running across to the opposite side of where Josh scrambled to despite being wide open if he sat in the middle of the field -
Do we trust McBeane in next years draft.

Some of this ‘blue chip’ business I’d argue is media biased. Benford is playing great the last year plus but gets no play from the national media just as an example. If he was in a market like New Jersey 😂 he would get his own cool nickname and be talked about all the time and then you have kind of the opposite situation where the media thinks someone like James cook is great but posters here don’t so he doesn’t qualify for blue chip status either then sprinkle in guys like tre white and von miller playing great then having career altering leg injuries, Milano missing a few playoff runs, etc. I’m pretty sure in that afc championship all our receivers were absolutely mangled too lol If things get really bad this season then sure blow everything up but losing mostly squeakers to the chiefs with the pretty bad luck we’ve had doesn’t warrant that yet imo -

I mentioned the chiefs because I’ve spent a lot of time doing exactly what you’re suggesting before 🤣. They hit on some picks years ago that now command big contracts and have been mostly struggling to add talent with that limiting factor…parity has been eroding a previously insanely talented team despite dumping tyreek for even more picks. last year they were the healthiest team in the playoffs by a considerable margin which I believe evened out some of their deficiencies and this year it’s been evening out so we’ll see how it goes down the stretch -

Oh yea I was responding to a poster asking which of his comments i thought were exaggerations haha I should’ve put them in quotes -

And we snagged a DT that is lookin quite good in the process lol people are complaining we got an additional good player and the wr we wanted? 🤣 -
Whatever. Move onto next week.

They changed the turf out before the start of last season I believe but people continued talking about the MetLife turf like nothing changed 😂 -
Whatever. Move onto next week.

I would understand this point more if we lost like we did to cincy more often in the playoffs…these are absurdly close games more often than not where a bit of luck can swing the whole thing in either direction though -
Whatever. Move onto next week.

I mean that’s how it goes for most good teams. To make that superbowl run you’ve gotta be playing your best football at the right time and get some good fortune. Just gotta keep getting back to the playoffs if you want to win it -
Do we trust McBeane in next years draft.
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Buffalo Boy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea people look at how many hits/busts he has without context. You’ve gotta look at the other perennially good teams that are drafting in the late first year in and year out the chiefs whiff all the time and they are a well run franchise. Late first there really are no sure things -
Do we trust McBeane in next years draft.

No sir…the guy we got with the supposedly meaningless pick upgrade in that trade down lol. Rookie DT I think you are who I’ve been having the ‘we give up on young players too early in this board’ convo but Carter has looked like a difference maker right away I think Coleman is progressing pretty well…that’s not who I was talking about though 🤣 -
Do we trust McBeane in next years draft.
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Buffalo Boy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oh yea you could argue that…but he was overwhelmingly given up on on these boards so him holding his own is a pretty big mismatch with how he was talked about haha shakir could be one of those types too but I figured he needs some more time to make a call on it -
Do we trust McBeane in next years draft.

Early returns so far but Carter was the bills ‘star’ of the game (if you had to pick one 🤣) in my opinion. I would love the irony if he turns out to be great after the trade down with kc was such a big issue for people -

I feel like everyone and their mother knows there was no chance in hell that call was getting overturned and people here wanted to challenge it out of pure frustration. mcd wanted to get the stop with three timeouts intact for his offense which is exactly what happened -
I think they were caught off guard and probably dodged a small bullet honestly lol. They were definitely feeling confident about stopping three telegraphed runs and getting the ball back in fg range knowing Martin isn’t a good punter and josh had a few single coverage looks that he missed. I still think it was wrong but it wasn’t godawful like some are making it sound. if the bills knew Martin was gonna actually boot one there they absolutely run three straight times. Three straight runs and I think you’re lookin at a Texans drive start in fairbairn fg range much more often than not though

That could be…parity seems to be doing its job even more than usual this year That second paragraph is what always makes me chuckle in the gameday threads lol. They just keep saying ‘the bills won’t win the superbowl’ when we win which is not a particularly bold statement for any team in the league 😂. When we lose it’s ’see I told you so’ despite them saying we are going to lose countless games that we’ve won. -

I really don’t think we’ve even played a flat out bad team lol. Jags even have been competitive but coming up short -

I mean he’s getting dropped in coverage probably because he’s Mack hollins 🤣. Don’t think davante Adams has that happen -

Stroud does boneheaded stuff in close games whenever I watch…idk if it’s me or what 😂 not sure how much of that was luck lol -

Spencer brown was absolutely despised on here Terrell Bernard too for sure. There’s really a lot of people calling all our picks busts at various times on here 🤣 so nearly any good draft pick you could say it about haha -

I think people still have this perception that we’re drafting early/mid 1st round for some reason and your Coleman big no comment definitely gives me that vibe. Malik Nabers is not the bar for comparison when you’re drafting in the late first which I’ve seen some people in here trying to argue lol -
Do we trust McBeane in next years draft.
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Buffalo Boy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Benford is great, Douglas was great but has had a slower start to this year. Carter is lookin like a hit on a draft pick while we’re making snap judgements on drafted players way too early…or can only ‘bust’ be assigned early 🤣 -

Are you referring to the chiefs? They had two timeouts and used them both on that 13 seconds drive lol my goodness edit: they actually had all 3 so 33% funnier haha forgot they used one before the fg
