  1. No, but he does control personnel and this defensive group can't stop the run and adding players is what GMs do. He also has depth issues at corner and the 2nd string receivers had their way with our dbs on Sunday. You like standing pat, fans like you give him a pass on being a stiff.
  2. Beane is Driver's seat! This team is defenseless and Beane knows it. Why wouldn't he make one acquisition to shore up the run defense. He's not as good as I thought. His free agents have stunk ,and the schedule is very difficult. Obviously he thinks Bills fans are happy to just make the playoffs, but we will have to win shootouts with a shaky kicker. Good luck.
  3. Josh was bad against Tenn, the KC game was elements and zero defense. The Jets and Patriots, he moved the ball up and down and couldn't make up for dumb penalties leading to FGs. Bottom line, 6 out of 8 games he's all you need to get a home game in the playoffs.
  4. Why would you not endorse making a move to address a glaring weakness. The future is now when you are in a division without Brady or any significant QB. With an offense that now has run and big play potential, Beane should shove the process and get a run defender. He doesn't have to trade high draft choices, it's just moving cap money around. If you think this process is working after watching the defensive performance in the 2nd half yesterday, I would disagree.
  5. The one thing I felt good about was the return of Feliciano. What a nasty ,hard nosed run blocker. A versatile performer who came in and played center and we didn't miss a beat. The offence is starting to be hard to defend. Running for over 200 yds is a big deal.
  6. Perfect assessment. I couldn't agree more. The question now is will he go against his form and make a move to shore up this porous defense. The offense is becoming really good.
  7. The win was devastating for Cam and the Patriots. You could see his shocked reaction. Having said that, Bills fans can't really feel too gratified because we were waiting to get beat by a beat up, decimated outfit that played better. What happened to this once proud defense?
  8. Why did anyone think this slow reacting front 7 would stop any run game? They also get routinely pushed around by good o-lines. Then the Pat's backup receivers dominate our defensive backs. Beane should rush in and get some good defenders at the deadline or we are doomed to lose to any solid playoff quality team we play. We stink on defense.
  9. They run the ball at will in the 2nd half and that's personnel missing tackles and linebackers getting pushed around. How many times does AJ Klein miss a tackle that gets us off the field. If you want to blame Sean fine, but Davis drops a sure TD and the offense had a great 2nd half. Beane can save the season by getting a run stuffing lb or a big time tackle. They're both doable.
  10. The only problem is Hyde is a player that exemplifies the physicality the Bills need to play with, more than anyone on the roster. Finesse teams get buried in the NFL. That hit in the Jets game was clean but more importantly , inspirational to teammates and fans. Hyde is a leader and he has plenty left
  11. I'm with you , a big JA fan and knowledgeable on the defensive side.
  12. Statistically we were far better against the run and pass. My argument is with the defensive acquisitions, the money spent, and the lack of production. If we're building a product, getting pushed around and having to rely on winning shootouts is not the way.
  13. Did you ever think the loss of Phillips would be so devastating. The guy was something special and his impact made Oliver, Murphy and Hughes better. Edmund's and Milano were better last year as well.
  14. A winning culture is getting better each year. Going from elite to allowing pts and yards at the bottom of the league after spending a ton of free agent money on underperformers on defense is not building anything. This group needs another tackle, or a linebacker to defend the run and a corner to replace Norman or Wallace, who get targeted every week and are nicked up to boot. Stop worrying about blowing a load and hold Beane responsible to fix this problem. As it is , the spending last off season was the blown load if we can't fix this.
  15. Enjoy the next 10 years being irrelevant for the last 20. Being 0 for the Super Bowl era. Having a big time QB and an elite defense one year and regressing after spending a ton of money in the off season. You don't worry about long term relevance in the age of free agency. The loss of Brady has opened up the division and we have an opportunity now. Our ownership is outstanding and our window is JAs rookie contract. We should be looking to go deep into the playoffs and create an environment that is inviting to free agents. Remember, this just started to be a desireable destination since we made the playoffs 2 out of the last 3 years.
  16. You said originally that we have enough talent and that Beane doesn't owe fans anything. Don't delude yourself with the defense played against the woeful Jets, who are trying to lose to get Lawrence. The Bills looked clueless against LA, Tenn and KC defensively. Our defense was elite last year. We need a spark. I wouldn't disparage conversational walls. They have a place in society.
  17. Dunlap has been benched and he doesn't command a lot. He got his signing bonus and he wants out. I don't know why you're against exploring possibilities for improvement. This defense doesn't stop anybody. Look at the yardage we've allowed. I know players on teams that have given up are available for late rounders.
  18. Grow and nurture, what is this a plant? 3-5-7 years. It's fans like you that have sanctioned ineptitude and abject failure for 25 years. This is a time when teams have to win or coaches and GMs get fired. No owner will give coaches and GMs 3-5-7 year outlooks. The turnover year to year changes the team profoundly. Expect more for your loyalty. If the ownership thinks fans want growth and production, maybe we'll finally get a Super Bowl.
  19. So you're in favor of standing pat, great. The Giants give away a good lb, Golden for a 6th to the Cards. The Jets swap late round picks with the Bucs, who play better run defense than us,for Steve MaClendon, their run stuffing lineman. How about Dunlap? He could be had for a late rounder. If you want me to scour the waiver wire, forget it. I'm just a fan, that's Beane's job. Defenses that were good, and regress, sometimes need to bring in a guy who can be productive. This is what defines good GMs. In our situation, the back end has been weakened by Wallace and Norman also. With Tre ,playing injured don't you think we need depth? If you're satisfied with the way this team gives up pts and run yards, I can't convince you.
  20. Stop making excuses, that's what executives do, move money around. The need for acquisitions is due to the defense being porous and not stopping good ,offenses, especially running teams(ie Tenn, KC , LA). The Beane signings have not been good so far and the reliance on Phillips, Milano, Wallace and Murphy have hurt us. The offense is good enough to make us competitive but this defense has to be better this season. Good GMs don't survive long term rebuilding projects because free agency changes the dynamic of teams. Fans have stayed loyal thru mind numbing incompetence in talent evaluation and coaching deficiencies. The GM must honor this loyalty and realize this is our opportunity. If fans want to support long, openended plans to fix things their doomed to mediocrity. I have had enough rationalizing the team is on the right track.
  21. Obviously you are a rational young fan that has not bled internally with this underachieving team. Finally our ownership group has assembled a tandem of coach and GM that has given desperate , long suffering and loyal 40 year fans a reason to believe, at the same time that the division has lost the GOAT. No, there is an urgency to making acquisitions, especially after taking a step back on defense after being dominant the previous 2 years. You be patient and look at long term big pictures, not me anymore.
  22. 20 years in purgatory, with incompetence at the helm, featuring numerous head coaches and qbs, and the fans support in a small market providing one of the top 3 homefield advantages in the NFL. Yea, he owes us.
  23. Beane owes it to this fan base to aggressively pursue a front seven stud even if it means parting with a high draft choice. A tackle or a run stuffing linebacker. A db would be nice as well, but Jackson gives us hope as a depth guy. This team can be as good as our defense allows it to be. Beane should own up to whiffing on keeping the wrong Phillips and the effectiveness of Epenesa in his rookie year. Jefferson and Addison are ok, but we need 2 more quality run defenders for rotational purposes and depth. This can be a special year if our upper management goes all in.
  24. What an addition he would be. Jets would have to be suspended from the N F L if they traded him in division. Never happen.
  25. Looked good. Nose for the ball, tough and good man to man coverage. Pleasant surprise. Only one game but let's see more.
