5th year option on Allen or bid on Watson in FA in 22
Hampton Josh fan replied to Mango's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why consider Wilson In his mid thirties at the time to extend JA if he wins a few divisions and playoff games. The question was Watson, and I just think JA has a bigger upside. Give him another season with Diggs and better O-line play and that thread will seem silly. I'm a JA fan so factor that in. -
5th year option on Allen or bid on Watson in FA in 22

Why would any rational fan give up on JA after watching him perform with the less than stellar skill players in his first 2 years. He is a warrior and plays the whole season. His teammates love the guys toughness and plays better at the end of games. Deshawn is good but is more likely to get hurt and has played with a better supporting cast. JA has 2 more years to prove he can take us all the way. Support this man. He is capable of great things with better o-line play and the receivers Beane has provided , he should be markedly better. Phil Simms was either hurt or bad for 5 seasons before he became borderline HOF. A lot of this is learning the league and continuity of coaching and personnel. -
For those that want a RB in the first few rounds
Hampton Josh fan replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The need for a good complimentary back not only will make us harder to defend, but more importantly will provide carries that will keep Motor fresh in the 4th quarter. The only way to get a good one is earlier in the draft, or overpay with one of the remaining free agents. Beane masterfully created depth with defensive and O-line free agency additions, so RB is a real need. -
Your critical analysis is appreciated, but the question is could anyone available stopgap us for a game or two. This offense will be customized to play well enough to allow the defense to be the difference. The optimum scenario is to get a guy who has won games before, but these journeyman are backups for a reason. If you have a vet backup in mind without significant warts, fire away.

No doubt, but could they take a good Biils offense and win a game or two if JA gets his bell wrung like last season.

Barkley is not the guy for a team with Super bowl aspirations. Please get a vet. QB who had some success like a Mariota or a Bridgewater. The targets for me would be Dalton or Matt Moore, with old buddy Fitzpatrick as an alternative better than Barkley..

Bills signing Daryl Williams OT
Hampton Josh fan replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If they don't move Ford inside, he shouldn't play unless it's an emergency. He looked lost in pass protection in many games. True he was a rookie, but with Williams now, I can't see exposing JA too unnecessarily hits with the passing game opening up. -
RB is a really GLARING need, right?
Hampton Josh fan replied to Richard Noggin's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
RB is a major need, but the remaining FAs are not worth the asking price. The draft won't get us anything difference making late in the 2nd rd.The answer is moving up for little Edwards-Helaire or Dobbins. The draft capital can be in future drafts, but this is the year we go all in. -
Naturally you pay this man with incentives for staying on the field. He is a talented corner but either his style of play or his physical limitations cut his availability every year. Now if you platoon him, cutting his snaps in a meaningful way, maybe you have for the playoff run and the postseason.

Dawson Knox will be a top TE in the next few years. He stretches the field and is tough to bring down. Rookies drop passes and miss blocks but with a full year under his belt and good coaching , I'm confident he will take a big step forward this year.

The Bills had a great defense in the Stratton era.The underrated Marty Schottenheimer and Mlb Harry Jacob's along with John Tracy were Mike's linebacker teammates. What a joy for Bills fans to watch them flying around and make hits like the one big Mike made on Lincoln to clinch the championship. This team made me a lifetime fan although I lived in Brooklyn.

How About Some Love for Knox
Hampton Josh fan replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am a Knox fan. I love his ability to stretch the field and get yac and break tackles. This season he must improve blocking skills and fix the drops. I believe in this player and if Kroft plays up to expectations now healthy, the TEs will be a strength. -
passing of Kemp2warlick

One of the all time great linebackers. My earliest fan memory was watching that great Bills championship win and big #58 saving the day RIP Mike. What a winner and teammate. -
Josh Allen "Prove it" Season In Year 3
Hampton Josh fan replied to longtimebillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Josh is a young guy who knows he has to improve. He works hard and is a great leader. Now he has a better offense surrounding him, and 2 years of starts. If he wins the division and a playoff game, why wouldn't he deserve consideration to get paid with top 5 QBs. The guy was thrust into the starting position as a rookie and had less than average o-line and skill players. Last year was better but still subpar receivers. The guy is durable, super athletic, and has great arm talent. As a fan, I believe Josh takes a huge step forward this season. Dabol also must trust Josh to be aggressive in the 2nd half of games with leads. -
Draft: RB Prospect Opinions

If that's the cost maybe it's too much.My strong instinct is that this kid will be a force in the league. -
Draft: RB Prospect Opinions

If they trade up to the end of the 1st or the beginning of the 2nd for Edwards-Helaire,I would love to pair him with Motor. Otherwise take a. 1 year flyer on a veteran in free agency. -
Josh Allen "Prove it" Season In Year 3
Hampton Josh fan replied to longtimebillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Josh must show improved deep ball completion ability . He must run a more efficient offense with better weapons and give Dabol the confidence to open it up in the 2nd half of games. I'm confident that he will benefit from the 2nd year O-line improved cohesion and the receiver quality. The guy will lead us to the playoffs, but he's got to win a game in postseason. -
Knox dropped balls, missed blocks and did everything rookies do. He also stretches the field, had great catches with broken tackles and plays with attitude. Kroft will be better with time to get Dabol's and JA's trust along with being healthy. Remember that with 3 or 4 top receivers and 2 good backs, the TE position will get one one coverage with linebackers and safeties. The position will be better next season.

If Jameis came here it would be a formula for disaster. He's a great kid from what I hear from Tampa fans, but JA doesn't need a QB controversy if he has a bad performance. Remember this guy is a very high draft choice and 4 year starter. I don't like Barkley either, but a veteran guy who knows his role, and does not expect to compete for the starting job would be better than a young guy who would bristle at riding the bench.

The defense needed to be made whole after losing 2 big contributors. The offense needed a #1 receiver and a complimentary back to Motor. If they get depth at receiver, particularly a red zone big target, in the draft and a swing Offensive tackle, this club is the class of the division . A running back is a definite.
-
D-line had to be addressed because of the two defections. Remember that defense overcame offensive shortcomings with JA development. The O-line was fortified with resigning Spain, Lawaddle, Long etc. Keeping continuity is critical with offensive line play. The TE position was addressed with resigning Kroft. This guy has to better if healthy. The running back will be a draft need or maybe a big FA signing to come.
