Drew Brees: Controversial comments
Hampton Josh fan replied to billrooter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Look at the group giving him a problem. Lebron, Crissy Teigen, Ben Affleck, Selena Gomez, Rogan, and other Hollywood and Sports stars. They support Black Lives Matter having a role in making criminal justice reform. Two policies that are non-negotiable are defunding police departments and no cash bail reform, releasing 90%of criminal actors to commit crimes again without consequences. Brees has to walk back those comments, that most people respect him for, because his teammates are hypersensitive in this environment. The hypocrisy is that the group that criticized him, all live in gated communities with tons of private security. How can they tell people in heavy crime riddled neighborhoods not to have law enforcement to protect them and small businesses. -
This is disappointing given the incredible potential Oliver has. The only thing to say is he better understand he has arrived at the crossroads of his career. Look in the mirror and realize he does not have another misstep available. The NFL will allow a young pro to screw up one time. The next time he's damaged good, not worth the gamble. I hope he has good family support and advisors that he trusts. I like Oliver, but I don't have the capacity to support a guy who can't understand the big picture and responsibility to team.

Anybody want to go on record about Josh?
Hampton Josh fan replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We had no idea about Cam"s me first, team second mentality. Any time you see a guy in a goofy different outfit in every post game press conference, he's trying to be the story. Josh will be low key and lead by example. -

Who cares what any of these guys do in college. We're talking about a guy that had some early success and cancerized his career and the trajectory of the franchise by injuries and moreover not being likeable with teammates, management and ultimately the fan base. In two years, Josh has established leadership skills, unselfishness, (he blames himself for losses) and clutch 4th qtr play. Root against him at your own peril. -

Cam had a me first, bang on his chest attitude. His skill set was good but Josh has higher ceiling skills with incredible leadership intangibles. Your comparison lacks the appreciation for a team first, winning mentality. After 2 years of steady progress and a playoff berth, why the Josh negativity? -
If it's not Buffalo, we're in trouble. We need our defense to dominate. They did not last year. That's why we lost the playoff game and the NE game last year. Let see if McDermott's defense can win a bunch of games. I believe in JA17 but he may be a year away from greatness. We don't need him to be great but we need our defense to be top 3.

A great picture and great moment in Bills History
Hampton Josh fan replied to LB48's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's the game that put the Bills on the map. Sports Illustrated had the Stratton hit on Lincoln that saved the game. While the Packers were doing their thing against Dallas, we were the upstart AFL champions. It was that team along with the Chiefs, Raiders and Oilers that laid the groundwork for the merger. -
Allen is the face of the franchise. The QBs get paid to take all the heat. Dabol is trying to work up to a HC job consideration. The Bills success for the next 5 or 6 years depends on a 1st rd blue chip prospect panning out. Dabol is important to Allen taking the next step, but make no mistake Allen will take all the responsibility for under achievement. Dabol might be replaced or get a HC job, so he is not a key figure for long term success. Allen is on the griddle because of the playoff berth. He's got to produce and I firmly believe he will.

Mario Addison meets with media 5/4
Hampton Josh fan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How could you not love this guy? He wanted to be here since last year when he had joint practices. He knows our system and thinks he'll thrive in it. He knows that they rotate linemen and he's fine with it. Mark this man down for 10 sacks and being a pain in the butt for opposing offenses. -
How About Some Love for Knox
Hampton Josh fan replied to BisonMan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hear fans looking for mechanical or psychological reasons why a big athletic TE dropped some balls as a rookie. The guy got 5 or 6 targets at Ole Miss. He was probably the most talented of any TE on this team and spreads the field better than most with his speed. He breaks tackles and will run over people. Had a big catch in the playoff game.He missed some blocks also. All in all, the kid was a great 4th rd pick. Looking for great things this year. -
Well crafted post. That says it all when it comes to fans facing reality with their sports teams and the inevitable wall that they hit if they have great success. Thats the way modern sports work. The Pat's are the gold standard but as Shaughnessy will learn ,it's best to have humility when the walls start coming down. Killing long suffering franchises just makes you look like a jerk and a frontrunner.
-
Now that the Patriots will be ordinary, Dan Shaughnesy will have to pay someone to get on a national sports talk show. Shaughnessy outlived his usefulness when Brady left. Who wants to hear a partisan jerk ,with a thick Boston accent, talk about the glory days. Dan, your team had a historic run and you and your cohorts stuck in everyone's ears. Now sit back and watch Buffalo take a stranglehold of the AFC east. The Hoodie will fade off into the sunset and you will be irrelevant. On a personal note, I felt your articles were amateurish and ridiculously predictable given your blind loyalties. Early retirement is a good career path.

Thanks for that. I have lived my entire life in the NY metro area amongst deranged Jets and Giants fans. When I was 8 or 9, my folks took me up to Buffalo to visit my sister at college. My dad got tickets to the rock pile to see Sestak, Stratton, Kemp and Golden Wheels and Cookie. That did it for me. My kids who have come with me on this wild ride, often ask why I made them Bill's fans especially while the Giants were winning Super Bowls. I usually say , you're doing God's work.

aWhy would anyone criticize a young QB after 2 years. The ideal situation is to sit a guy for a year and surround him with weapons and a decent o-line year 2. We got a playoff birth despite having a below average receiving Corp in year 2. The people that jump on JA17 are understandably skeptical because our management has given them names like Losman,Edwards, EJ.,Rob Johnson, Fitz etc. I'm a big fan of the kid, but he gives me more hope than anyone since Kelly. He has a big arm, great legs and the team respects his leadership. Sit back and enjoy the ride. .
-
Dan, you're a simpleton and an insufferable homer. Let me be the first to give you a hearty welcome to football irrelevance. Belicek and the system and the oblivious beat writers will be also rans until the coach retires in a year or two. Fan base be damned , the hoodie won't sully his legacy and have the critics ask if Brady was the key to all the championships. Six or seven wins for all you spoiled asshats.
-
Excellent analysis, we can win the division and compete for the conference with what Josh was last year. With a representative receiving Corp, better o-line play and a defense that will control most games , Josh just has to limit turnovers and not try to do too much. Remember, this guy was thrown into starting right away and has slowly improved over 2 campaigns. Now, Beane has surrounded him with weapons and a dominant defense. Even Buffalo detractors know this team will be a force to be reckoned with.

Rd 5, Pick 167: QB Jake Fromm, Georgia
Hampton Josh fan replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Jake can be coached up to be a competent backup and manager. He's cool under pressure and has faced top competition and could have won a championship if things broke right. His arm strength is a problem especially in northeast stadiums with wind but he doesn't turn it over. If he can be insulated from having to win games with his arm ,I think he can guide us to wins. -
Please, Please Please...Never mind
Hampton Josh fan replied to Lurker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a true NFL super star in the most important capacity to a franchise, talent evaluation and acquisition. This guy has consistently made superior moves in free agency and the draft. He must be kept at all costs. He will bring continual excellence to a franchise that has suffered from poor management for 2decades.
