Agreed - and as it now stands, our depth is improved. A healthy rotation of defensive lineman going after opposing offenses will serve us well. Let them all have playing time & turn them loose.

I'd rather draft someone - there are usually serviceable running backs that can be acquired in the mid & later rounds of the draft that will provide the same production as Fournette - without the necessity to give up draft capital - and at significantly reduced salary requirement compared to someone like Fournette. Don't waste excessive salary cap space & draft capital on a running back when an equivalent can be acquired for much less.

With the signings of both Taiwan Jones & Tyler Matakevich - clearly the Front Office was significantly concerned with upgrading the performance of the special teams units in this upcoming season. Good for them - it seemed to me that, especially our kick coverage teams, were a liability at times for us last year. As we have plans of being a contender in the AFC this year, we cannot afford to give games away due to special teams weakness. These types of "under the radar" signings can make the difference between making the playoffs or just missing out - or better yet make the difference between playing at home in the playoffs versus going on the road. I hope these guys work out well for our special teams units.

This was our best free agent signing so far - I believe that fans will be very pleased with Jefferson's performance for us. A versatile guy on the DL who can play both the run & rush the passer. We also did not have to break the bank to sign him. Love this signing!

I admit that I have had an unhealthy hysteria with following the Buffalo Bills so closely since 1970. So an interruption in football activities (even off-season ones) has an impact on my daily mind set. Perhaps it is time for me to find some other obsession to cloud my mind, besides our beloved Bills. There are so many to chose from -- Besides the current favorite - the Corona Virus - perhaps I could choose to obsess about Global Warming (oops - I mean "Climate Change"), or perhaps I could worry about plastic bags from grocery stores destroying the oceans & marine life - though I remember when we were once told that we had to switch from paper bags to the plastic ones to save trees (A very rational concern considering we live in the great North America Forest and have been planting trees for many years). There are so many to choose from! On second thought - I think I'll just continue my now 5 decade long obsession with all things Buffalo Bills! Despite all the recent cancellations & hysteria - I am still looking forward to another awesome year of Buffalo Bills football. It will take more than this to shake me from my Buffalo Bills obsession/Hysteria!

I have mostly enjoyed reading Marcel Louis-Jacques written reports & listening to his radio appearances. However - how can anyone think that Star Lotuleiei contributed less to the Bills than such stellar FA's like Reggie Bush & Vontae Davis? Those were too guys that sure added a lot to the cause!

I agree - the issue about this will be that his contract demands & positional demands will make likely make the possible acquisition of Williams a "no go" from the start for the Bills. I also do not agree that Williams would not be a "process guy" - it seems the situation with him in Washington was more the result of the horrendous Redskins franchise than anything about Williams personally. However -- as it stands we are a little short on guys named "Williams" on the team right now - perhaps adding him could move us back up closer our normal complement of Williams'.

Don't give up on players after their rookie season - unless they were ridiculously bad - which he was not. Need to give these guys a full off-season of NFL quality training and preparation before beginning to make conclusions about a guy. Many of these linemen have always been significantly bigger and stronger than everyone they have played against in high school & college - therefore they don't really have to learn proper technique. Once they are in the NFL - everyone else is a big & strong as they are and all of the sudden technique means everything. Plus - NFL quality training & medical for a full off-season can make a huge difference to a player. Bottom line - too early to give up on a young player like Cody Ford.

Hopefully this may mean that an extension is coming soon for McDermott (& perhaps for the GM too.).

That's great - Leslie has done a great job for us. I am really enjoying some of the stability that seems to be developing with the franchise. As a guy who has been a fan of the team for over 40 years - that last sentence is something that I have rarely contemplated over the years.

Yes - nothing props up the perception of a guys manhood like needing your wife to speak for you. Maybe his Mom could put out a few words of support for him too!

Given the state of the economy in Upstate New York - I cannot support the idea of massive public taxpayer funding for the construction of a new stadium for the Bills. Instead - Extensively remodel New Era Field to keep our expenses down - while still insuring the future of the franchise. Yes - I do know that extensive stadium remodeling will also be quite expensive ... but, a joint public/private stadium upgrade project, done in conjunction with the NFL (to insure their buy-in) could serve the needs of the team, the public, and the NFL - while not putting undue additional strain on local taxpayers.

And his twin brother Rob would make a great Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Bills - imagine what a great example of taking proper care of your body he would be for all the incoming new players!

Doug Flutie was not an arrogant, self-centered jerk - he was actually a great guy, and the ideal teammate and a positive presence in the locker room too. Yes - I am kidding about this -- lol. I hate the Bills Red Color Splash Uniforms. Most people that I have talked to seem to love those things. They are obnoxious and hurt my eyes. The Bills belong in the predominately Blue & White uniforms (the bit of red accent is ok). It just doesn't look like the Bills out there when they are wearing those loud red pajamas.

It was down right creepy when we had a tight end on the team (Sheldon Jackson) that painted his toe nails purple - and he seemed to be excessively proud of it too. To my memory, most people back then thought that it was cute or that Jackson was a free spirit who was just comfortable being "himself". I tell you - it was cringe worthy. Lets avoid any new players with this personal habit.

Cody Ford - given the opportunity & the time to develop - will become a quality NFL starting right tackle.

For any of you old timers out there (like me) -- Robert James was a better cornerback than all of them. Too bad his career was derailed by injury far too quickly. You young kids out there can google the early 1970's Bills to figure out who he was.

I also believe that Beane would be willing to give up a limited amount of assets to acquire an "elite" weapon to pair with Josh Allen. I am no expert on college football or the ability to effectively scout college prospects - but I think that I can tell that Beane & McDermott are definitely "all in" on Josh Allen. There may still be doubts in some of our minds - but there appear to be none in the minds of the GM & Coach. If they believe that a key piece can be had a few spots higher than were they sit at #22 - I have no doubt that a move up by them is quite possible. Generally I tend to see the only worthwhile 1st round trade up is for a potential franchise quarterback - too much capital is required for the move to make any other position worthwhile. That's probably the reason that I am just a guy commenting on a board - I'm not daring enough to be an actual successful NFL executive.

With all the injuries inherent to the NFL - player availability & durability is a major concern for any draft pick, however there is no truly reliable combine test to assess the potential risk that a prospect might carry (in addition to any "proven" durability that may have been evident in a players college career). I propose the "Kevin Kolb Durability/Availability Test" -- players would be required to run while stepping on a variety of different rubber mats. It would be a sort of "Running the Gauntlet" type of test - if a player can make it through without slipping, the probability of him at least surviving training camp can be demonstrated.

Ok - so he's past his prime & yet another ex-Panther that could possibly become a Buffalo Bill. However, this move could result in the end of Lee Smith's tenure on the roster of the Bills - just imagine the improvement we might see in holding penalties & pre-snap infractions - might be worth it just for that alone to have him as the new Frank Gore of the tight end room.

All these worthy blunders over the years - wow - to quote Dick Jauron (sort of) - "Its hard to be a Bills Fan". Look at it this way - it is better than being a Sabre's fan (oh wait ...).

Ahh - there are so many wonderful head scratchers everyone has posted in this thread. While most all of them are worthy of anyone scratching his head - it seems that most people have that one special moment that stands out above all the others. I've been a fan since 1970 - so not too well versed on the Bill's 1960's blunders. My most skin crawling moments as a Bills fan occurred every time I heard/saw Buddy Nix doing a press conference (we chose that guy to be our GM??!!). Show me the baby - oh boy!. For me - those days were my darkest as a Bills fan - so bleak - there seemed to be no hope on the horizon. Thinking back to that time makes me appreciate the current regime.

There often has seemed to be the search for that "Big Receiver" that we so "desperately" need. Do you remember James Hardy - I think he was 6'6" with that coveted huge catch radius. It was popular back then to say that he ran like Frankenstein - although that may have been shortchanging Mr. Frankenstein's mobility a little bit. Let's hope that this years new crop of receivers doesn't include another swing & miss on a "big" receiver, just because he is tall.
