  1. Not a gut punch. Expected. The team moved forward, like incremental steps each year, until last year (I know, I know, 13 seconds, but that was one of the best football games that I've ever seen -- and felt that it could be built on). Like most Bills' fans I was hoping the best for this year, but at the same time I had my reservations. My gut reaction was that the team felt that between 13 seconds and disdain for McD overall -- that they were gonna be off. You watch a lot of Bills' football (and football in general) for 45 years and you get to the point when you just know that it's just not gonna be smooth sailing. Could the Bills make the playoffs this year? Of course. Do I think that they will? No. Yesterday, sadly, was a confirmation that this team, regardless of its ending record this year, seems DOA in 2023.
  2. Aye, the hot pants Given what Miller's put on film, who would trade for him? I wish that the Bills could unload him but the same time I am dubious.
  3. If they did it would be bulletin board material -- and I'd hope for better results. 🙂
  4. Best show ever. It's a shame that CBS never figured out what to do with it. Got the updated DVD set last year. This one has all of the original tunes, unlike the original DVD release: https://shoutfactory.com/products/wkrp-in-cincinnati-the-complete-series-1?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw7oeqBhBwEiwALyHLM9D4qKX0FlSVBNhGqdUwK1sga6BJWkHMi5_2PL5XRvXcVjj5EOKKbxoC_nsQAvD_BwE
  5. Hmm, I thought it was this one.
  6. Jet lag Detachment They aren't good enough Kelce got a taste of Hollywood Andy Reid has lost the team
  7. Hmm, where have I heard a version of this story before? Hint: rhymes with rchard arc
  8. Early in this season I envisioned a 9ers Bills SB and I was glad. But now? Who wants to see a game where 300 points are scored, everyone gets injured and it ends in a tie? (Of course I am aware that it cannot but it would be so on brand.)
  9. Exactly. I thought that until recently he had stopped being interested in playing football several seasons ago.
  10. CoS was an album that Rush made for Rush -- in spite of their best intentions. As someone who's made music for 30+ years (writing tunes, gigging, touring, mixing, engineering, etc), it's easy to fall into that trap. But what surprises me more about CoS is that they followed up with... 2112, and that 2112 resonated with people. 2112, for whatever reason, is weird and wonderful in ways that CoS isn't.
  11. I read here that the problem is jetlag.
  12. I remember this game slightly, slightly meaning that I remember bits and pieces of it, because I ended up with a concussion. I distinctly remember Flutie running into the end zone FTW, and jumping up off my couch in delight. Unfortunately I'm 6'6" and my ceilings were around 7' in my old, old house at the time. I hit my head on a beam, causing massive damage to the sheet rock that covered it. The rest, as my former neighbors told me, was them just checking in to say hi, an ambulance ride and an ER trip, and (by their telling) brain fog for several days. Solid win tho. HAHA!
  13. What is this... an airplane for ants?! This airplane should be at least 3 times its size. </zoolander>
  14. Great thread, OP (that wasn't sarcasm). Coaching still kind of concerns me, and I'm being low key with this remark. Could this team win the SB this year? Yes. Could this team finish .500 or less this year? Yes. Going into this season I'm just feeling cautious. You go from 17 years of (wrongly) talking yourself into thinking that EJM and others of his ilk would QB this team into the playoffs to two years of utter letdowns. This team is really good, but it's also got its warts. That's the tough part to reconcile going into this season.
  15. Maybe it was already said (busy day for me today), but I just Schatz my pantz.
  16. Maybe it got lost in the ether. I know that I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the Executive Summary. HAHA.
  17. I guess I don't understand one's pathology -- where they are so hellbent on being right that they just can't help themselves from keepin' on keepin' on.
  18. So very true. That's the same reason I had to put the kibosh on my subscription to "The Economist". Couldn't keep up, too expensive, and ended up in the recycling.
  19. Same here, pretty much, well except that it's not me who's been subscribing, but my dad, and I think that I've almost talked him into stopping his subscription. The paper version of the BN -- not that I've ever mistaken the BN for the NYT in the 45 years that I've been reading it, and not that I ever wanted BN to be the NYT -- is woeful. The Sunday edition, something that I used to look forward to, is *rolls eyes*. Very interesting thread here otherwise. Been a long offseason for the lot of us, or so it would seem.
  20. True dat. My wife saw them in Portland (Maine) at Thompson's Point on 7/3. I wish that when she asked if I wanted to see the show that I said to get me a ticket. Her video footage on her phone, and her response after the concert -- confirms what you wrote. It was beautiful and moving, and my god can that Plant guy still sing!
  21. Your office has all of the necessary elements. Well done!
  22. Alas! From Wegman's in Niagara Falls. Walked the aisle, was hoping for some kind of Warsaw Experience, or something Walesa branded -- yet saw no one.
  23. Yeah, it was that bad. For four years. XXV, great played game, well outside of not maintaining TOP. Oh, and Ottis. Goddamn. Redskins ugh. Cowboys I was a living abortion. Cowboys II was totally on brand. Bills showed up, bumble*****ed their way into losing, then lost again.
