  1. They brought consistent results over the past few years, and I'm not down on McD because of that. I just think that McD isn't good enough. Beane stays in the meantime, though, because when you think about GMs since Butler, he's >>>.
  2. I recommend an actual train and a partnership with CN. You'll hear an actual train as the Bills squad exits to the sideline as their opponents are flattened by a diesel locomotive. That'll learn 'em!
  3. Love ya, Shaw, but the Bills are simply not good enough to win it all. Hats off to McD and Beane for making them respectable again, and this cannot be overstated. But when things get ugly for this team, it chokes. I've read comparisons to 1989, and that's probably apt, but one wonders if the issues are due to a HC who has reached his ceiling. People forget that the 1987 Bills were trash, the 1988 Bills exceeded expectations, and then there was 1989. This team showed growth over 3 seasons... until this season. The current situation with this team is irksome to say the least.
  4. I'm not one to be that "fire everyone" guy... until now. The Bills, even with early season success, have seemed "off" to me in a way that they didn't last season. Was it coaching? QB contact distraction? Personal choices? Roster holes / overpaid and underperforming players? Mental / physical errors on the field? Ultimately I think that McD has lost control of this team. They could win 10 games this season, and yet they're still not good enough. And that's on coaching. The really good teams in this league don't have these kinds of regression.
  5. So, your wife is working on this SCOTUS case, you're stone cold sober and run like 5 miles, and then you come home and make this Whole 30 friendly meal for yourself, which you consume with a seltzer... yeah, I am ready for this *****. Bring it.
  6. I am absolutely disengaged with the NHL. Thanks, Sabres!
  7. I read this story once -- I think I was around 10 or 11 -- about Teddy "the Rough Rider" Roosevelt visiting someone's home and eating meat pies. Only one of the pies was loaded with cayenne pepper, and if you ate it you had to crawl under the table and either sing or chant. It was long ago, and I'll be damned if I can't find the story again today, but guess who ended up with the cayenne pie? The Rough Rider did; you betcha. Maybe I should invite POTUS (any POTUS, really) to our house and do a chip challenge. Hopefully Gitmo wouldn't be a part of my future. As an Indian-American, some friends trash talked me about how they could eat spicier food than I. So we had a "heats of strength" competition, and I think that they regretted their choice of having one. Granted, it was over 15 years ago, and my tolerance has gone down slightly (see also: colon, losing), but I pretty much won that competition hands down. Yeah, our poblanos, even for a mildish pepper, really sucked, and were kinda bland overall. Our green peppers turned out well. The habaneros and jalapenos, to your point, got a little bit spicier at end of season. But still, better luck next year? I bet that we have to order something online as the farmers market stuff around here doesn't cut it.
  8. That is odd. While my speaking voice is still the same and without rasp, my singing has gone down close to an octave. It started showing recently while doing karaoke. This is also why I engineer/mix now instead of performing with a band. 🙂
  9. Could be in the long term, but Brees arm talent was underrated early on. It's way too early to compare Tua to Brees in any case.
  10. They can't all be gems, and we know this. Unfortunately 2021 is not trending in the way that many of us thought it would...
  11. True, but you need a guy. Is Watson that guy, in particular if he can't keep it in his pants? The Dolphins need to figure it out, just like every other team needs to figure it out.
  12. So true, and as someone who lives in New England and who had to hear about the Pats CONSTANTLY, they're real friends who should also be lit up. HAHA!
  13. So, we built this sick garden last spring. It was hot early in Maine this past May, and things started growing quickly. But our peppers weren't hot enough, and that included the jalapeños and habaneros. I think that I overcompensated today. Many friends locally will get a gift of this angry sauce about two weeks from now.
  14. I remember a day when certain Bills fans opined that we should bring in Jay Cutler because he was better than EJ (not really a debatable point). At the end of the day, though, and I have no idea how this Bills' season will play out, you see the difference between drafting The Guy and recycling.
  15. I have lost the hair around my anus. Thank goodness that I'm on laundry duty tonight so I can remove that asterisk from our presence.
  16. HAHA! The recipe is actually on point, but the habaneros were way, way worse than I thought. So, without further ado... habaneros (8 is a mistake, which was mine today. use like 2-3, and seed them) the "meat" of two ripe mangos 1 medium yellow onion 5 cloves garlic 1tsp (or to taste) smoked paprika 1tsp (or to taste) ground cumin 1tsp (or to taste) ground mustard 8 tbsp raw honey 6oz tomato paste 3/4c apple cider vinegar 1/2c water salt, pepper Once this all cooks down then blend. Tighten your sphincter. Call Dr Phil. I don't care what you do, but my god, wear a mask and goggles. We should have plenty of masks around at this point. After shaving what?!
  17. Quietly the Dolphins are destroying the terrible teams... just like the Bills. Anything can happen, but Saint Tua? At some point Tua being under center will catch up to the Dolphins... you'd think.
  18. Leg warmers.
  19. Outside of mine? Recent favorite when I'm in town is Wellington Pub. I like many of the others in the list as well. For mine I cold smoke for 4 hours then fry then toss in sauce. Habanero carrot sauce w honey is my second go to after the traditional.
  20. So... I started smoking again during the early days of the pandemic, after 6+ years without it. I dunno, just kind of sitting around, getting fat (I've lost 75+ pounds as of today -- from this past spring) is kind of depressing. I switched from Marlboros to American Spirit during many, many days at home, and I will say this... First, I think that my dentist hates me, and this is probably with good reason. Second, my sister and brother in law are doctors, so when we see them now and again, and with our young nephews, I keep the smoking to a dull roar. Plus they live in Colorado. I should move to Colorado as I never feel like smoking there. Still, I can go for a week or two without smoking now, given that American Spirit stuff does not give me the joneses like other tobacco products used to.
  21. A little Helmet never hurt anyone, did they?
  22. So I got into BBQ (smoking) a few years ago, and today I started a brisket (flat) at around 9am. I just made this BBQ sauce with habanero and mango. Finally whizzed it up in the blender, and yeah there was coughing earlier when the habanero hit the hot pan, but jeeeeez... I think that after I finished blending it and tasting it, that after coughing, that my colon just fell out in my boxer briefs. The sauce is really good, btw. Spicy and sweet. But dang. You need a colon for a proper lifestyle, right?
