Hurricane Season 2022 - Florida Now in the Bullseye
TheCockSportif replied to T&C's topic in Off the Wall
Regarding Miami, I was there (south beach) this past week for a work conference. Hot, humid, cloudy, followed by lots of rain and wind. It started raining Monday afternoon and by mid Tuesday it was definitely tropical storm like. It basically stopped by Wednesday night. In the end it was a LOT of rain in a short amount of time, and Miami seems to flood easily. Naturally, the weather was beautiful on Thursday, the day we were leaving, oh, and the tiny bikini crowd started making an appearance by the hotel pool. On the Uber to the airport, you could see that some damage had taken place during the storm: toppled palm trees, flooded yards, sunken or upside down boats, and so on. To my surprise, flying out wasn't that bad. We were delayed by maybe an hour, and they took a different path to get around the storm. It wasn't nearly as turbulent as I expected. In the end, we were maybe half hour late getting into Boston, which was totally fine. Overall, having a group of a couple hundred people together during a weather event like this one was a "team building" experience. -
Way too many mistakes and missed opportunities
TheCockSportif replied to Xwnyer's topic in The Stadium Wall
I asked myself a similar question earlier, and given the miscues from the Bills, this game wouldn't have been close. (I suppose that you may also been kidding as well.) -
Help me understand an OBJ trade
TheCockSportif replied to Behindenemylines's topic in The Stadium Wall
What a difference a week or so makes! WR depth is nice if your OL isn't a liability, if you can run reliably, and if your D doesn't have massive injuries everywhere. I could see OBJ hoisting the Lombardi with this team, but that's not where we are at the moment. -
Poor coaching by McDermott is becoming a theme
TheCockSportif replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm keeping this to a dull roar as I did last season, so this is my last response until playoffs. Coaching is a problem once again. When this team is rolling, I like their chances. If they are in a dogfight, and making mistakes along the way, I don't like their chances at all. -
Need to start utilizing Knox more

Assuming that his head remains connected to his body going into next week, I agree. -
NFL Week #3 - Bills at the Dolphins - Post game thread
TheCockSportif replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'll let you know how humidity is in Miami tomorrow, because I think (?) that it's the same as today. Headed there for a work event tomorrow. I guess there's some kind of hurricane approaching as well. -

The problem for me with this loss is that it's BBFS all over again. JA17 is the reason why this game wasn't awful overall, but not sure about the coaching, not sure about the game plan, and most certainly the number of mistakes were off the chart. I've seen this type of game over and over -- over the decades -- and it's hopefully not a harbinger this time around. You hope for the best, and I know it's game 3 and all, but that effort, injuries and all, wasn't good today. At all. -
A Few Thoughts About the Dolphins Game, in no particular order
TheCockSportif replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm critical of his pass in the dirt, but without JA17, this team would've been smoked. Can't (or won't) run consistently, OL questionable on a good day, defense decimated by injuries and/or bad scheming in 3rd and long, and the Fins would've dropped 40 on this team a few years before Allen emerged. -

Correct on all counts. Season not over, but gut check time, and early this season. -

Worst game that I've seen in a long time from this team. What a missed opportunity. But on to the next one. -

Was at the market at halftime. Wish that I had bought some of those undergarments. -

Just a bit outside. JFC, though. Had a COVID booster and flu shot yesterday, and not feeling so hot since the late evening. Mowed the lawn earlier, sweat a little bit of the funk off. But this is definitely not helping. -
BM in a can is... on brand.

Such a band thing, and heard. We've both been through it probably a million times.

You are so right about that YYZed performance. So good. So very, very good. Cool take around that era. That is my favorite Rush era, and I'll have to pull my old music mags off the mothballs to revisit as I am able. Thumbs down around Gail, but I'll keep checking your site. Enjoyed the band immensely, and will catch you in the future. Had promised to come out, in particular since I grew up in NT on top of everything else, and wanted to close the loop.

It's interesting that you mention hot drunk chicks. I started with the Rush shows in the mid 1980s, and it was mostly a sausage fest. Not that there's anything wrong with it, says the heterosexual male / Seinfeld enthusiast.

Yeah, I forget the thread where you mentioned this. I would love for you to tell me the story someday. I hated the rap in the title track, but thinking through some more, Rush moved in a more approachable / AOR direction during the Atlantic years. "Animate" also comes to mind as a bouncy track. I'm gonna miss you in NT in November. My mom is not doing well at all at the moment, and my sister and I are trying to figure out how to manage two parents who are in their 80s, and who have a steadfast refusal about entering assisted living. Massive challenge.

HAHA, good, so I would become capo regime of grilled cheese. The key with what I mentioned is light on that combo and heavy on the cheese, because it's a grill cheese after all. You get the punch when you bite the sandwich, and a punch after the cheesy goodness that the sandwich provides. It's not like I'm recommending pineapple on a pizza. HAHA!

Getting promoted to east sales engineering leader with a 50k bump, on my birthday (yesterday), for a solid tech startup, really made my day.

It qualifies as a contraceptive / chastity device. Best guess, of course.

I admit that I don't listen a lot of new music. Part of the issue is that I put a hard stop on listening for enjoyment as I work on my music or produce / mix for somebody else. And the other part of it is that I *strongly dislike* the artificially loud nature of modern music. Big Data, though? Yeah, it's got the artificially loud delivery, but it also hits that sweet spot of the 1980s -- that I loved back in the day.
