Nah, he's toast. And it wasn't just this season. People have gotta know what's up / manage the reality of their own relationships. When they make the movie (Tom Hanks will star as Tom Brady and Helen Mirren as the Gis), this will all become clear. It'll be set during Christmas, on the Lifetime network, and Tom Brady will cry after he's paralyzed during the filming of a television commercial. Gis will confirm that it's still over before, on Christmas Day, gifting Tom some gloves and socks, but of course he can't open them, and he can't put them on. He's a quadriplegic. So, the movie will end with a subtle, Kenny G-penned outro, and an ambiguous set of end credits, where I guess, Tom Brady can walk again. You'd think that I'm drunk (didn't drink today), high (not into it), or delusional (possible, but have you seen TikTok?!), but yeah, this could be a real thing. And I'd definitely be interested in watching it.

Any Realistic Guard Available at Trade Deadline?
TheCockSportif replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe The Highlander is available? I hear that he's immortal. -
This could be said for half of the league. So, given my deep disdain for Watkins (lack of self awareness, lack of motivating his team to win, injured a lot later on), I don't really care how he got out of college. He did. My only surprise is that he's still doing it. Unrelated, but I was in General Ed classes with a few UB football players over the years, and we're talking early 1990s here. The sports cars, the jewelry, I mean... that's the blueprint.

Watkins retired shortly after he was drafted. I can't say what year that he unofficially retired, as I don't recall, but the fact that he's still getting on rosters is confounding. Not that I care, but, for example, Blaine Gabbert is still in the league. So, one wonders at times...

I don't know if this is my favorite memory, but still it stands out to me. I got acquainted with this guy that I worked with, and he was from Amherst -- moving from WNY to Boston area a few years earlier, just like me. As such we would hang out and do tech things, and when it came to Bills' season, we'd try and watch games together. Just MO, but nothing is as fun as watching Bills' games with another fan who knows the team intimately well, doesn't take themselves too seriously, and unless the game is tight or the Bills are getting smacked down, employs a healthy degree of snark. This took place in 1999, the year that many of us thought that the Bills would make it to the SB, if not win it. This dude was the first person I knew who owned a smoker, and he did wings and tri-tips. I made this Ceasar salad with grilled croutons. We were feeling no pain (beer, lots of it) before the 8:15pm kick off against the Jets, if I recall. So we settled into the game on the couch and were drinking more beer. I always loved the Maguire / Theismann booth. Joe Thiesmann is dumb as a post, and would say unintentionally hilarious things. Paul Maguire, IMO, was awesome in the booth, and clearly hated Joe Theismann. So in that light, when somebody (I forget who; beer, and this happened decades ago) missed a field goal, Maguire emoted, "wow, he SHANKED that one!" And then came the exception from Theismann. "Paul, that's not a very nice thing to say." Maguire was incredulous. "What are you even talking about? He SHANKED it!" "Paul, a SHANK is a 'not very nice' person," Theissman continued. ESPN basically immediately cut to commercial. Classic. Was Theismann talking about 'skanks' and just didn't know it? Does anyone else remember this game and this exchange?

While obesity is borne of its own set of issues, airplane seats, even if you get a better "class", which I do due to a ton of work travel, are way, way too narrow. I'm 6'6", but I have broad shoulders. My derriere fits neatly into the seat confines, but my shoulders do not. Last flight, across country, I was in the center seat between what I was assume were two guys who played professional sports. Thank goodness that we were all good natured about it. How can you fit three dudes of the same physical statures in the same row of seats at the same time? Good times...

I'm kinda looking forward to GB, for what it's worth. Rodgers is a spaz these days, and he no longer cares. Let's see how it plays out.

If you could only have 1 (Beckham or McCaffrey)
TheCockSportif replied to buffaloboyinATL's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's OBJ. The team literally just proved that they can run. With that extra weapon, given how Diggs has been used this year, it makes total sense. -
Josh Allen and the Quest for 6,000 Yards
TheCockSportif replied to ArtVandalay's topic in The Stadium Wall
He hits 6000 yards, and I wonder what his Isotoner glove brand will look like. Or maybe he just sells ___your comments here___? -
Indeed, this time off means that he can't play QB anymore. I hear that Josh Rosen is free?
-
A source tells me that he likes Ted's Hot Dogs. You can take this comment as you wish.

But why does it matter if I perceive him as one who was conservative? It shouldn't. He is the spearhead of building a winning culture, regardless of how he got to where the Bills are right now.
-
I don't think that there's anything wrong with saying that McD was conservative at all. Year 1 he had TT and Fromm as his QBs, and many other gaps on the roster. Year 2 he was breaking in a new QB. Kinda same with Year 3. Has he evolved alongside the team? Definitely.

Must admit I love when Nance and Romo call our games…
TheCockSportif replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
According to the GDT thread, Romo is terrible. 🤷♂️ HAHA!
