There's been a multitude of bad snaps/fumbled on FGs, especially in poor weather conditions... happens all the time. Vast majority of FGs occur on 4th down obviously, if they had the chance to down and re-kick they would.

Doc, it's about providing the Bills room for error. You have severe weather conditions, anything goes wrong with the snap, hold, footing of Bass you are screwed. If you took the free first down, you kick the FG on 2nd. If something is wrong with the snap/ hold/ footing you tuck the ball down, kill the play call TO, then kick on 3rd. You give yourself room for error in the extreme weather conditions.

Great game, still had brutal drops. Still only has one 100 yard game in his career. To be honest his contract is the worst thing that happened to him. Without the contract he a great role player. If not for the snow and penalty, it's very likely we lose that game. Relying on outside factors is not how you won a Super Bowl. It's no secret this team has not executed to their level since the bye week in October, I'm happy with wins but we also need to make sure this team is executing to a level to win the super bowl, that's the goal, no one should be buying a division champs hat this year, the goal is bigger than that.
