  1. Funny, I don't remember saying it's happened before. I'm sure something similar has happened. Maybe not to "star" QB, but there's a first for everything and anything is possible in football.
  2. I can't wait for the first guy that dies because he purposely took a nap on a road trip.
  3. I believe him only as far as the situation dictates. If Josh takes a big hit late 1st quarter or early 2nd, I don't think we'll see him the next series. And I don't worry about him simply playing football. What I worry about, is some bubble guy trying to make a statement.
  4. Nope. The K-Gun was named for tight end Keith McKeller. So the new "Gun" name would be for Dawson or Dalton. It could be both, which would make it the DD-Gun. And I think many would agree, double-D is better than D.
  5. And lack of big receivers other than Knox. A lot of teams have a guy that you can just toss it up and they get up and get it.
  6. A bit off topic, but speaking of Tijuana and crime, Anyone hear of the Coronado High drug ring that happened in the 60s and 70s? https://magazine.atavist.com/coronado-high/ Fascinating story. It's a very, very long read, but well worth it. A movie was in the works, but apparently fell through.
  7. Agree. The Bills team is more settled-in than the Jets. With that said, can anyone imagine what the Jets fans (and media) will be like if the Jets win? OMG! I won't be able to turn on a single sports show all week.
  8. It would be the D-Gun, if we're staying true to form.
  9. This is not good. We all know what Gabe Davis playing with a nagging injury is like versus a healthy Gabe Davis.
  10. Ken Dorsey has a nuance the way he answers press conference questions that bothers me. He starts some of his answers with "Yeah, no....." And sometimes, "No, yeah......" I know a lot of folks have little quirks with the way they speak, but this just sticks out to me.
  11. Man, my reference missed.
  12. Preseason for a veteran kicker is simply finding the one guy who's the best pincher.
  13. Josh broke rule number 1........because.....
  14. The scene in NY if the Jets season goes south....
  15. I was mostly indifferent to the topic, but then I saw all the question marks and it sparked my interest. They should do it.
  16. I have Sling and I saw the game was going to be on NFL Network Alternate. When I turned it on, it said "subject to blackout restrictions." What the heck?! I live in Florida. Why the blackout? Fortunately I do have NFL+ basic. Recently found out the preseason games are shown live. After a little wrangling, I got the game on. Some stream issues at first, but it eventually worked well enough.
  17. As far as depth goes, I think our D-line is going to be a monster this year once Von is back. So many combinations they can employ. I agree with the Allen comment. I'd like to see a bit more. He did look jumpy and erratic at times. But I'm not as concerned as some folks here. He is new to the team and system. Both Allen-1 and Barkley have been here for years. Yes, Dorsey is only a 2nd year coordinator, but those 3 have been together a long time. On a side note; I think Mcdermott/Dorsey will flip the Allen-2 / Barkley rotation with Barkley in before Allen. I think game 2 it'll be Allen (1-2 series) - Barkley - Allen.
  18. I'm sorry, I don't do impressions... my training is in psychiatry.
  19. I wasn't that concerned, but when I saw the number of question marks, that changed immediately.
  20. There used to be a crowd noise rule where the ref could hand out penalties if the crowd didn't quiet down enough for the snap count. And it was in place for the Kelly years. I think they slowly stopped enforcing it until it eventually took it out.
  21. That comment got me thinking. There are 12 teams that have never won a Super Bowl. I took the team market value list from the other thread and highlighted those teams. There's a bit of correlation. 1. (-) Dallas - 9.20 billion - 20% 2. (+2) NY Giants - 7.04 - 23% 3. (-1) LA Rams - 6.94 - 17% 4. (-1) New England - 6.70 - 14% 5. (-) San Francisco - 6.15 - 19% 6. (+1) NY Jets - 6.11 - 27% 7. (+1) Washington - 6.05 - 27% 8. (-2) Chicago - 6.00 - 20% 9. (-) Philadelphia - 5.95 - 27% 10. (+5) Las Vegas - 5.77 - 41% 11. (-) Houston - 5.35 - 16% 12. (+4) Miami - 5.24 - 29% 13. (+4) Atlanta - 5.15 - 33% 14. (-4) Denver - 4.87 - 5% 15. (-3) Seattle - 4.82 - 10% 16. (-3) Pittsburgh - 4.80 - 13% 17. (-3) Green Bay - 4.75 - 13% 18. 22. “The timeline [Burrow’s return] is several weeks from when I said several weeks,” Ambiguity is a terrible thing.
