Not only unpopular by also ridiculous.
-
This falls more into the category of prediction than opinion ( I suppose predictions by thier nature are opinions). And I am sure it will be unpopular. The Bills offense will excel in 2024 The defense will struggle. Bills fans will apologize for the struggles by pointing out the problems which are obvious today White, Milano and Miller will all play like former stars attempting to recover from major injuries, but not returning close to form The safety position will struggle, because the combined ages of this years two starts is approaching 70. The edge rusher position will be NFL average The interior defense will be NFL average linebackers will be below NFL average Cornerbacks will be NFL average Defensive struggles will be blamed on the new DC Babich. Defensive struggles will be apologized for by fans due to cap limitations special teams will be as as bad as 2023 Due to Josh Allen and the offense, the team will make the playoffs Some players will be injured Some games will be impacted by bad calls Bills will go out in the divisional round of the playoffs. Fans will generally conclude, the Bills did not advance further because of things beyond the Bills control. After the season TBD posters will argue about whether significant changes should be made No significant changes will be made. I will be happy to be wrong and watch the Bills hoist the Lombardi If the Bills hoist the Lombardi, someone will revive this thread and poop on this post. This will also make me happy.

Dan Marino lists top QBs of all time; Kelly makes list

So nine seasons with a coach (Reeves) who could not get it done, replaced by a coach (Shanahan) who gets it done in year 2? -
Hopefully someone on the committee will explain to him when to throw challenge flags

What is your level of patience on not advancing to the Super Bowl?

if the standard is guaranteeing a Super Bowl, are you saying McDermott is a failure, or are you saying he guarantees us a Super Bowl or are all other coaches held to a higher standard than McDermott? -

We have a QB who gets us to the playoffs every year. That is clear. It is less clear who else is contributing, holding us back or simply along for the ride. -

This is the reason for the end of the fail. Full stop. Everything is else is the reason we have leveled off at current levels. It is reasonable to be happy with current levels. It is reasonable to think that maybe the breaks will fall the Bills way and they will break out of current levels. It is also reasonable to think that there is not going to be a breakout from the current level without making some major change. Its part of what makes sports interesting. -
Drafting a QB and signing mayfield are not mutually exclusive concepts.

I meant riveria being moved on from by the panthers. But the panthers did not actually win the Super Bowl so a mistake. Carrol fits. -

We can all agree that your level of patience is of no relevance. Others like to share their opinions with each other. -

There really is no right or wrong answers here. Different people have different risk/reward profiles. Personally, I think the past lack of success for coach/QB after a certain point exists for a reason. Extremely few coaches seem to be able to adapt and modify what they are doing to the point of winning multiple championships. In my best estimation, this is due to familiarity of the systems. I think McDermott has become too familar (which can happen without actually winnning a championship). He seems like a truly stubborn person for better or worse. I don't see him ever being less familar. Maybe the familiar system gets some injuries, or poor seasons from key opponents, but I think McDermott will need a lot of help from other teams failing, in order to get further than he has. I will give a similiar current example, which will be less emotional for Bills fans. The McDaniels and Tua combo. This past season was likely their best opportunity to take the league by storm and play through to a championship. They started out with pretty interesting and different offensive attack. Even put up 70 points. But it got more figured out as the season progressed, and if they run back the same stuff next year, its hard to see it doing any better. Given Tua's limitations and the quality assets he had around him this year, I don't think McDaniels/Tua has anywhere to go. The difference is if I was the Dolphin's and I wanted to win championships, I would look to move on from Tua (maybe McDaniels too, but I think McDaniels got the most of Tua anyone ever will). -

Unless Terry is a member of this forum, none of us get to make a change. We can be upset, indifferent or any other emotion we want about the situation. question specifically asks about NOT going to the Super Bowl. Whole different kettle of fish if we start playing in and winning conference championships. -
How clutch was Josh in 2023? No other QB even came close
Chaos replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
The general rule is that fans on this forum consider anything they don't understand "useless". Which from the sole perspective of those that don't understand things is perfectly true. -

Fair question, since none of us are Pegula. I guess my intention was how far yout patience goes before you would be upset as a fan to keep the HC. -

The tough part of this is that, Allen is at such a high level, if he dropped down to being a "top 10" qb, the team would likely fall off a cliff. -

I think Zack Taylor’s record against Reid in the playoffs is better I fully expected this crowd was more vice than virtue driven 😀 the numbers don’t lie. -
Patience is a virtue. That is not in dispute. So it is arguable that the more patience one has the more virtuous one is being. This poll is a test of your virtue. More undisputed facts: Sean McDermott Bills head coach since 2017 The Bills have made the playoffs 6 of those 7 years The Bill have not made it to the super bowl in any of those 7 years. Only three NFL head coaches (Reid, Tomlin, Harbaugh) have been with their teams longer (all have coached Super Bowl champions in their career) Two other coaches have the same number of years (McVay, Shanahan) Both have been to the Super Bowl twice. One has won a Super Bowl (weaker NFC) Generally speaking teams in the NFL do not seem to be patient with coaches. Teams have fired relatively recent super bowl winners (Pederson, Bellichek, Riveria for example). Teams have fired other coaches that made the playoffs numerous times. Some teams have been more patient (Shottenheimer, Marvin Lewis, Dan Reeves spring to mind) This poll is intended to record your level of virtue. The bigger the number you pick, the more virtuous you are.

Why have the Bills not been more successful? (Poll to end all Polls!)
Chaos replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Kyle Shanahan Nick Siriani Zach Taylor Andy Reid Sean McVay Bill Bellichek Doug Pederson This is the list of coaches who have coached in a Super Bowl during the Sean McDermott Era. The whole "lost by a field goal" conecept is just a stupid argument. Nothing in McDermotts track record to suggest the Bills would of course gone on the win the next game. Or the one after that.
