I am not making an argument, just answering a question.

Bills had the best regular season offense outside the red zone under both Dorsey and Brady.. If Derek Henry had more close to peak season left, the Bills could have the best red zone offene during the regular season. In all honesty, I would expect a bigger impact from Henry, that I expected from the injured Tre White, or Micah Hyde or Von Miller or Jordan Poyer going into 2023. Any would supported relying on those players for 2023, and think Henry is washed heading into 2024 has it backwards in my opinion. Not only are you 100% correct it would be fun, it would also potentially greatly improve the team.

I am going with Josh Allen. This is going to be the season that he finally proves himself to the TBD faithful that is a legit franchise QB.

Marvin Lewis couldn't beat anyone in the playoffs.

I am not saying Oliver isn't a decent player, he is. But he is not a difference maker that overcomes obstacles to make plays no matter what.

If the roster is better every year for five years and the coaching is fine why are the results not better year over year?

The entire dline disappeared against the Chiefs in the playoffs. Its honestly hard for me to imagine anyone of them (including Oliver) are of critical strategic importance to the teams playoff success.

When did they get old? Just since last season? Why didn't Beane know about the teaching younger faster players strategy before this off season?

"When" includes forever. This is a fairly clever expectation setting question. Literally impossible to fall short of, unless the NFL or Bills go out of business before forever. Center and guard positions are both changing. I though McGovern was a good guard. But he is not a known factor at Center. By the way I agree with cutting Morse.

My personal opinion is that all sports franchise gms and coaches spend a considerable amount of effort to manage expectations. Thier key to personal success is not winning championships, the key to success is beating expectations. The lower one can set the expecations, the more likely one is to succeed. Another personal opinion is that the Bills organization is masterful at managing expectations. One pillar of that strategy is "we were so awful in the past, that any appearance of competence oughta be satisfactory to the fans in the cheap seat". Fans love activity in the offseason. We have been treated to a lot of activity this week. The consensus opinion about every decision seems to be "this is great" and "this had to be done". So I polling at this point, what does it all mean for 2024?

I am an offense first guy. However the big 3 money positions are QB, WR, Edge Rusher. You can't have too many good WRs with favorable contracts. You can't have too many edge rushers with favorable contracts. Sutton is very good WR. If there was a way to afford him, and allow us to add a young edge rusher in the first round rather than WR, that would be perfectly fine. There is a LOT of room on the upside on the edge for the Bills.

In any given year about 28 NFL fan bases think the off season moves made the team better. A couple of fan bases will understand they are tearing down to rebuild. Sometime the Super Bowl winner will run into a cap wall and has no where to go but down (Rams a few years back) But since the 2024 Bills won’t be playing the 2023 Bills it is not really the important question. The important roster question is “Will the Bills roster be relatively better than the Chiefs/Bengals/Ravens/Titans rosters ?”

The Bills have quite a few more players in the 3 to 10’milion cap hit range than the chiefs do. I am curious as to how much more production you get from Ryan Bates at 5.4 million. Compared to say Ryan Van Demark at 0.9 million.

Why would people expect Shorter to be better than the practice squad wide receivers on the 31 other teams? It seems to me there is a large pool of similar talent.

Its all relative. Main competetion, Chiefs, Bengals, Ravens are all in better cap shape.

How do you measure a drafts success without hindsight? Seems most people insist you need wait five years to see how a draft actually went.
