  1. Everyone has it backwards. Clearly Garrett is still on Jones payroll and went to the Giants to sabotage them.
  2. no one can copy what anyone else did. In this case Rivera is a head coach who has been to the super bowl. Much different than a first time HC. So the redskins are already way off course.
  3. If you can simply copy a model why not the chiefs or ravens instead of the Bills?
  4. I think McDermott teams and the Bills games reflect a style of solid, safe and comfortable. He wants to have a certain number of players that help him be in his comfort zone. He has had decent success taking the Bills from being a doormat to being a playoff caliber team. Its not clear if this style of play will take the team to being championship caliber.
  5. Singletary has not shown (some would some simply not given the opportunity) that he can carry a work load of 20+ carries regularly. If you can't do that, you are not an RB1 Generally you are right. Jerome the Bus Bettis, and John Riggins (and the hogs) were a couple of exceptions proving the rule. Henry is playing at a unusual high level currently. No one else is going to play at the level, and even Henry is not likely to sustain it. Its a rare thing.
  6. While I am not sold on Daboll, your take here is entirely reasonable. If I just look at results I think I agree with your conclusion. However my trouble comes from how many games my head was spinning from what appeared to be a large number of inane decisions on offense.
  7. I am guessing the Bills led the league in passing plays with a completely blown blocking assignment of a defender. Pass pro was very good when teams rushed 3. Just awful on picking up blitzes.
  8. They did not help. I am not sure how much they hurt. I am a little fixated on Derrick Henry the last couple of weeks. If you have a line and a player performing at that level, I am not sure if the performance of a WR#3 like jones or a WR4 like foster is really a critical missing pieces though. I don;t now if a QB in his second season and his first full season as a starter is likely to be the best at involving 5 or 6 NFL average playmakers without having single player the Defense needs to key on. Last year Mahomes did very well with guys like this handling most of the production I think Maybe if we had Hill and Kelce, instead of Brown and Croft, no one would worry so much about zay jones or robert foster. Looking at the Bills this season, it seems like maybe the production shortfall is on the top, not the bottom of the WR corp
  9. Are you aware of any situations where McDermott seemed to have a blind spot and was months behind in making decisions that were obvious to others?
  10. I would have picked Vrabel. Did more with less when it mattered most. Just not as flashy nor part of the national media narrative.
  11. If that is your goal, then you are asking the right question. Personally I don't know the answer to that question.
  12. You might best stick to physics. Nothing I have said is a grass is greener argument. Which of the following points I made is a grass is greener argument? 1. If you are confident Daboll can win a championship. You stay with Daboll. End of discussion. 2. If you are confident Daboll can't win a championship, you have nothing to lose by changing him, unless you have a different goal than winning the championship. 3. If you are not sure about Daboll after two years, the professional GMs and Head Coaches need to evaluate whether or Daboll or someone else gives the team a greater chance to win the championship.
  13. You missed the point. If the judgment is that Daboll will not be good enough to win the Championship, and winning the championship is your goal, then you have nothing to lose by changing him. If you have not reached a judgment on Daboll after two full seasons, then you might have the wrong people making this decision. Having said that, if Daboll is still in the "might" category, meaning he is essentially still a prospect, then you need to measure him (including the benefits of continuity) against the entire universe of prospects, and make a decision based on that.
  14. Since you are too lazy to do research, I don't think I ever stated or even had an opinion about Luke K. being on the Bills. I was simply calling out your obnoxious post for what it was.
  15. I am not sure the question that needs to be asked is "will someone else be better"? The first question that needs to be asked is "Will Daboll be good enough to lead make the offense championship caliber?" If the answer is yes, then the questions stop there. If the answer is no, then the next question is "Is my goal really too win the championship?". If the answer to that question is yes, then the next question Among the hundreds of college head coaches, NFL position coaches and ex-NFL head coaches and OC, is there someone who MIGHT be good enough to build a championship offense. If the answer to tha t question is yes, then hire that person. If the answer to that question is no, then you have have to find a new goal other than winning the championship. In the words of the fictional but brilliant Reese Bobby "If you ain't first, you're last." sidenote, Mr. Bobby later recanted saying he must have been high when he made the initial statement.
  16. You can't win more than one, without winning one. So that is an important goal.
  17. This is a weird thread to try to fit in a "I am smarter than everyone else post" . If you are looking for feedback it didn't work. Just seems kind of douchebaggish in context.
  18. Its not an oversimplification. It describes two elements of coaching and seeks opinion on which element is more important. Either one is more important, or one they are both equal. All teams have some amount of both elements. If Vrabel tinkers his way to a super bowl victory, does that mean the ability to tinker on the fly is more important than laying a foundation ?
  19. Do you the 2 and 4 Titans had a strategy and plan in process as they demoted their QB. Or do you think Vrabel, adjusted to the situation brilliantly?
  20. As the original post pointed out, no coach is binary on 1 or 2, its a spectrum, the question is which is more important. Are you saying its exactly 50/50 in importance?
