The look of the original posit is that teams can get cap space via trading draft picks. So the packers could trade 1 and 2 for 2020 in exchange for additional cap used to sign two key free agents for more immediate help

Nick Chubb. OBJ. Jarvis Landry. All better playmakers than Hunt. Horrible Horrible Horrible coaching. Hun'ts talent is the same.

Pro Bowl Player Poll--Worst City to Travel To
Chaos replied to Lurker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To your first question. Apparently the person who did the survey. To your additional observation. It seems like the response of a simple minded child. -
He would be. Not because he is great. Because we have no one else who is better. Singletary is not better. No one else is in the discussion.

Kareem Hunt would immediately be our best playmaker, other than Josh Allen, the moment we signed him. So there is that.

Bills fan petitions NFL to move Super Bowls to Saturdays

"Football Season" is not the same thing as NFL season as it includes youth, high school and college football. So football season is not going to change. -
Pro Bowl Player Poll--Worst City to Travel To
Chaos replied to Lurker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Football players stay in hotels and eat out. The best hotels in NY, Philly, and Boston blow away the best hotels in Buffalo. The best restaurants in those cities blow away the best restaurants in Buffalo. The best night clubs in NY blow away the best clubs in Buffalo. Its not what they have. Its the top end quality of what they have. -
Lose a point, move the goal post.

I think you would end up with a barbell effect of teams going all in and teams selling off all their cap for future picks. For example, maybe the Packers would be have the incentive to trade off several years of their future, to acquire a whole bunch of players for a last hurrah, figuring they will be horrible when Rodgers retires anyway. And a team without a good QB decides to trade all of their cap space for draft capital in hopes of finding a franchise QB and tooling up from there. Allow cap to be traded, sort of defeats the parity purpose it was, in part, created for.

Losing a third round pick for 5 million of cap space as the OP suggests is actually getting dinged pretty hard for a mistake.

"The Mad Bomber" Lamonica weighs in on JA17
Chaos replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Once we have let go the Lamonica trade, we can start thinking about letting the Mahomes deal go. -
Do you think the Bills are going to make a big run at Clowney?
Chaos replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the popular understanding is that you pay up to 'retain" and that by having the exact same players with higher salaries, you become better. -

Or the pick used to draft Mahomes. -

Running Backs A Dime a Dozen & Is It a Passing League ?

Deduct Allen’s and Jimmy Gs rushing yards. Then compare running attacks -

He was an excellent third round draft pick. He is not in the top 15 RBs in the league. Without something along the lines of the niners oline and scheme, the Bills can't duplicate the niners running attack. Next year it is more likely that Josh Allen duplicates L. Jacksons 2019 numbers than the Bills duplicate the niners 2019 rushing numbers . No point in pretending either is happening. -
Running Backs A Dime a Dozen & Is It a Passing League ?
Chaos replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No we don't. We don't have any semblance of the zone blocking scheme the niners run, and no coach experienced with it. We don't have kittle and we don't have nearly the RB stable the niners roll with. -
You have to win a division and two playoff games to get the super bowl or win three playoff games to get to the super bowl. 12 teams have that chance at the end of the season. 8 teams have chance after the first week of the playoffs. We were part of the twelve, but not part of the eight. So we were not that close. We have advanced to the Marvin Lewis / Jason Garrett tier. We need to advance to the Marty Schottenheimer tier before we can really say "we were so close"

Sammy Watkins: New Teams, Same Bad Attitude

I want to clear this up for people. Doug Whaley was not competent as a GM. Try to remember this. Thank you for your cooperation. -

Andre Reed: "Progress" from 2019 Bills
Chaos replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Comparing any current team to any team from the 20th Century is going to yield little fruit. Free agency, rookie contract rules and salary caps have changed the way teams are built. But even more dramatically have changed the way teams are maintained. From 1967 through 1979, only three teams appeared in the Super Bowl only once. Every other team was a bit of a dynasty with multiple super bowl appearances. From 2007 through 2019 10 teams only appeared once. Getting to the Super Bowl is more teams pulling it all together briefly and going all in on a season (usually when multiple rookies contract players are playing starring roles). The days of dynasty building are really behind us. Each season is a new an unique experience. -
So who is everyone rooting for tomorrow?
Chaos replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Any with a soul is rooting for Green Bay in the NFC. Both AFC teams have reasons for support. Mahomes if fun to watch. D. Henry is blowing up the media narrative every week though, which is fun. -
But that was against a weak schedule.

NBC Washington advocates following Buffalo model

Think what you want. The Ravens turned over almost their entire offensive roster, changed QBs from Flacco to Jackson. Let call that a re-tool.
