Best examples of failed 1st rounders who revived their careers?
Chaos replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall
If he is considered a first round NFL draft pick Steve Young is the correct answer to the question. If he not considered a first round draft pick he is not part of the discussion. -
I was trying to make it easy. No one has been able to respond so far with listing any example of wizard level players on the roster. I am willing to give Beane a pass. Just object to the frequent uses of phrases like wizard or big ballin Beane. I will move from the extremes and agree he has done a middling job. I hope people understand middle to be in the middle and the exact opposite of extremes.

If you take an objective view of the current Bills roster, other than Allen, are there any players on the current roster that justify refering to Beane as a wizard. Or is it more accurate to say the current roster, other than Allen, is kind of meh.

I think Chapter 1 ended when the Bills could not figure out how to build a juggernaut with Allen on a rookie contract. Chapter 2 was shorter, but that ended with the crash and burn of Tre White, Von Miller and Stephon Diggs, the three non-Allen cornerstones of chapter 2. We are starting chapter 3, with only Allen as a bonafide star on the roster (Milano is an unknown).

This may not be as valid as the BBBS scale.

Most don't want to believe that.

One positive from Diggs departure that isn't being discussed
Chaos replied to BeastMaster's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh Allen on any roster is good enough to win the division against the Jets Dolphins and Patriots. This is good enough for all but narrow minded people. -
Every player on the roster should be considered available for trade at the right price. I would even trade Josh Allen, as long as the compensation was Patrick Mahomes and a couple of first round draft picks. I don't understand how anyone evaluates the pluses or minus of only one side of the trade. For example, I would certainly trade Milano for the #5 overall draft pick. I would not trade him for the #180 overall pick.

This is common mistake. People confuse charm and charisma with goodness. Many of histories most evil people have been charming and charismatic.

The Allen-Diggs Relationship in Decline?
Chaos replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
It is very exciting that the coaching staff has solidified another scapegoat for their own playoff failures. Brilliant execution on this task. -
Are we really going to miss any of the departed players?
Chaos replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
After Dorsey was fired we did not lose anymore games by giving teams extra chances to win because we had 12 men on the field. At least that problem was solved by Dorsey's firing. -
Bills have a tendency to pay solid average guys to above average contracts. And then are disappointed when they continue to be average.

Bills Coverage Stuff that is Making me Grit my Teeth
Chaos replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
If your saying playing for Bill Walsh rather than Marty Shottenheimer is more important than who the WR's are, I agree. Dwight Clark was solid in the early Montana years. But the early Montana years has zero to do with the question asked, that I responded. too. The question i answered was about "after losing an elite WR". So I answered the actual question. Your response indicates you did not understand the question. But thats ok. -

Joe Montana was not Joe Montana without Jerry Rice. However Steve Young became the new Joe Montana with Jerry Rice. -
Was he on the injury report at all last year?
-
Beane gets a pass for one reason: Josh Allen. It was a brilliant move. With the Josh Allen move included he is an above average GM. Remove the Josh Allen move, and he is a fairly average GM.

Impact Players and the case for doing whatever it takes at WR1

We are only four seasons away from asking "will we miss the departed players?" -
Are we really going to miss any of the departed players?
Chaos replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Change any five players other than Allen on the Bills, and replace them with Jags. Bills still win the division in 2024 Change the GM and the Bills still win the division 2024 Change the entire coaching staff and the Bills still win the division in 2024. So we won't miss any of the departed players. But there is little evidence to expect Beane is going to replace them with players we would miss, if they left, either. Bills feel like they have been spinning their wheels for a while. Top 2 QB. Very weak division. Its a pretty good formula for winning the division. And only narrow-minded people think that is not good enough. Or so I have heard. -
Who will be the head scratcher pick(s) in the first round?
Chaos replied to Sestak4ever's topic in The Stadium Wall
Plus Belichek is no longer with the Patriots. So there is that. -
I think there is a decent change, 2024 is being viewed as a throway by the Bills. Bills can win the division on Allen's talent, plus the current offensive roster as well. I will not be shocked if the Bills trade down/out of 28 and 60 to load up in 2025. Something like this maybe:
