The bye in round one is probably more meaningful than home field advantage. The AFC should add an eigth team and remove the bye. And the championship game should be on a neutral field if it involves two of the three top seeds (assuming bills, bengals, chiefs win this weekend).

You have this all wrong. Allen is clearly good enough to win a SB. You could plug and play him on any playoff team, and have a good chance. The rest of the team if far more concerning than Allen.

The Bengals are as good as Cincy Chili. The Bills are as good as Bar-Bill Wings. In other words no comparison

A general theme with the Bills is that Allen is so good, it hides all kinds of deficiencies elsewhere on the team.

Defense has its own question marks.

Its not your imagination. PFF ranks the Bills oline 22nd in the league in pass blocking. And 28th in run blocking. It is a bad unit. (good news, Bengals oline sucks too) Bills receivers are ranked 14th. (Bad news Chiefs and Bengals are ranked 3rd and 4th). Bengals and Chiefs are ranked 1st and second in passing. Bills are ranked fifth. Allen-Burrows-Mahomes are all about equally talented. Allen has far less to work with overall.

Bengals win and they likely end up second seed with the Bills as third. Playoffs go through Cincy then. Bills win and Cincy has to go through KC and Buffalo on the road. Not sure why you don’t understand how a win meaningfully improves the bengals position.

in this case, the Bengals have exactly as much control to improve their position as the Bills do to maintain theirs.

the difference in two or three interconference games is 95% less differential, than the chiefs getting to play four games against teams that are not even trying to compete.

With the extended schedule, the NFL should consider having each team play one game against every other team in their conference plus three against the other conference. With the elimination of pre-season, start the season with each teams 3 interconference games (least important for tiebreakers) and finish the season playing the three teams in thier division when the games are the most critical. This system makes its so that every team in a conference has a very similar strength of schedule. Its just too silly to have the dispartiy in SOS that exists now.

Both teams are very talented with elite QBs. The team with the better game day coaching will win the game.

Offense was not good enough, or else we would have won the game. The question is, is it easier to add 7 points to the Bills offense, or subract 7 points from the cheifs with better defense. Spoiler alert, the answer it is it easier to add points on offense.
