  1. so do we try to go slow tempo to protect the feelings of our defense? or do we play to Josh's strenghs and go up tempo?
  2. Football is a team game. At his peak in an individual game, no NFL player comes close to Allen's ability to take over a game by himself. Peak game Josh is the best player in NFL history. Herbert does not compare at this measure. He does not compare to Allen in any other way either. This does not mean Herbert is not a good QB. The league has actually entered a golden age of very productive QBs. Herbert is a very productive QB who had a very bad game yesterday.

  4. Bass should now resign.
  5. Not being one of the two best at your position, hardly makes one a bum. Which players should be dropped from the current list, and which Bills should be added in their place?
  6. Peak Allen (on an individual game basis) is higher than any player in NFL history. That alone will ensure he is added to the hall of fame.
  7. I am sure it is discussed earlier in the thread. Is there an agreed up definition of "most valuable". In other sports outside of the USA, the term "player of the year" is more common than "most valuable". It seems like Bills fans (me included) want to deduct points from Jackson, for having a better supporting cast than Allen. But I am not sure that is reasonable. It seems to me that the currency in the NFL for success is "wins". And that the "most valuable" player is the player whose season would have contributed the most wins to any NFL whose roster they were added too. Its a complicated task to assess all 32 teams. For example, would either Allen or Jackson, have made the lions better than 14-3, or the Eagles better than 14-3. How many more wins would the Broncos have with either of them added? Would the Bengals have won more games with either of them rather than Burrows? Same question for Chiefs/Mahomes. I think if you go through the league, you find that adding either Allen or Jackson would have similar impact on any team they were added too. I think in the end, MVP voters are probably looking at tiebreakers between Allen and Jackson, similar to team tiebreakers. Head to Head, and strength of schedule beeing two of them. Jackson won the head to head. Ravens had the 8th hardest SOS. The Bills had the 27th hardest schedule. Both of those pretty strongly favor Jackson as "player of the year" But if the phrase means tell me the player i want to build my franchise around, its still Allen or 15-1 Mahomes, both far ahead of Jackson.
  8. 1 game out 17 = 5.8%. The rest of the quarters sat, adds up to the other 5.2%.
  9. Yes, your post correlated Hall of Fame coaches to Quarterbacks. It had nothing to do with win percentage. Factually speaking only four QBs ever made the hall of fame without playing for a hall of fame coach. I don't know if you ever play sports, but coaching can stick with players for their whole career, long after the coach has moved on.
  10. People familiar with history should modify felon, with the word "convicted" when referring to the concept of "first" felon.
  11. I agree they are doing as good of a job as they can. But I am confident others could have done a better job.
  12. Does this allow for any sort of negotiated injury settlement? (Not sure Watson has any incentive to do that though). But Watson probably cares more about the cash than the cap hit, and if there is something that allows the Browns to get out from the cap situation, he might be willing to help with that.
  13. Do you think the LA Fire Department did a good job preparing for this possible event? Do you think they have done a good job reacting to the event? Do you imagine there was any room for improvement?
  14. In a rationale market it would not depopulate, property prices would simply decline to a level, that allows the owners to pay appropriate insurance premiums.
  15. The top 1 NFC team is all that matters for the AFC teams at this point. But I think having a bunch of doormats in the AFC, means it is the overall weaker division at this time. The bills certainly benefitted from being in the biggest doormat division.
  16. Josh Allen was always going to succeed. There may have been another round of fools, as he saw coming out of high school and JUCO. But Allen's work ethic, intelligence and talent were always going to lead him to success.
  17. It works the other way too. There are 29 NFL HOF QBs 25 of them played for a hall of fame coach. 3 of the other four played for coaches who still may yet be added to the hall of fame (semi-finalists and finalists in past votes. The only QB in the hall of fame who never played for a future Hall of Fame (or near HOF) coach was Warren Moon. Holgrem is almost certain. Hard to understand why Shanahan is left out. Buddy Parker is an old-time, so don't have an opinion, but he did make it as a finalist in voting once.
  18. NFC won almost 60% of the head to head matchups this year. https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/afc-vs-nfc-record-year-by-year-all-teams-grouped-by-conference-last-20-years The common narrative that the AFC is better than the NFC may be a bit outdated.
  19. The current system is broken. So is this proposal. In the NFC this year, the 14-3 Vikings would have to play two more playoff games than the 14-3 eagles.
