  1. I am ok with this. Unless a strange situation developed, like JSN or Christian Gonzalez dropping to 27, taking the best pass blocker seems to make sense.
  2. If you "get nothing" but unload 10 mm of salary cap, hypothectically that space might be better utilized in 2023. Is 10.7 million of cap space in 2023 more or less valuable than a third round 2024 or 2025 third round comp pick.
  3. I concur on oline being the top priority. No player is a ten year player. They are five year players, who you may or may not be able to afford after five years. If they are stars, and you have a top 5 QB, you will struggle to hold them. If the Bills think that Wright is the best OT on the board, and they take him, I will not be unhappy.
  4. My response was to your previous comment about taking a player a dozen picks early. This is not the same thing as moving up a dozen pick. You asked a question "why not pick a player a dozen picks early". I provided the answer to that question.
  5. A separate poll on TBD has identified G, WR, OT, and LB as our positions of need. Addtional polling has indicated that there is at least some support for the following players who are likley to be available at 27. Anton Harrison OT Darnell Wright OT Dawand Jones OT Jalin Hyatt WR Josh Downs WR Zay Flowers WR O'Cyrus Torrence G Drew Sanders LB Trenton Simpson LB Jack Campbell LB 3/26 Adding Dalton Kincaid TE, 3/26 Adding Michael Mayer TE 3/26 Adding Will McDonald IV Edge 3/26 Adding Brian Branch, S/CB 3/26 Adding Joey Porter CB YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR VOTE IF THE NEW ADDITIONS CHANGE YOUR MIND My heart wants to pick Jack Campbell, because I think he will be the most fun to watch and might have the biggest 2023 impact. . However, WR and OT are so much more financially valuable positions to have under rookie contracts my brain says to pick Jalin Hyatt. (And pray Matthew Bergeron OT is available at 59) In real life the Bills may be faced with having to choose a Defensive lineman or Secondary player who is ranked much higher on their board. Like real life you can only pick 1.
  6. I think it is a huge strategic blunder to scheme in a way that you need unusual skill set players to play in your scheme. Its bad enough to be forced to draft for position over BPA, but it really becomes limiting to be stuck with best player at a positoin of need who requires unusual skill set to fit scheme (BPAPBWRUSSTFS) . Campbell seems to be a day 1 ready MLB who has a reputation for great instincts and elite measureables in size and athleticism. Seems nuts to pass on a player like that, because you want to run a particular scheme (which does not seem to work in the playoffs anyway)
  7. Pretty good voter participation. Early on WR had a pretty big lead. But Online (T&G) have blown by WR in later stages. Guard pushes ahead of tackle. Its fluid situaton. I would say the Bills post-McGovern are better at guard than tackle (I see Spencer Brown as a turnstile). In a different poll among the Guards actually in the Draft https://www.twobillsdrive.com/community/topic/246549-building-an-entire-draft-boardoffensive-guard-rankings/ "None" a big lead over "O'Cyrus Torrence" with no one else having any traction. This is a pretty good highlight of the BPA vs Need equation. There will be several choices for tackle available at 27, although none of the realistic possibilities has majority support. (If Johnson, Skorkonski, or Broderick Jones is available at 27, Beane should sprint to the podium) https://www.twobillsdrive.com/community/topic/246535-building-an-entire-draft-boardoffensive-tackle-rankings/ This brings us back to WR. The two players with Majority support are not likely to be available at 27. Downs, Flowers, Hyatt and Addison may be there. (all four likely won't) My best estimate at the moment, that among the players at one of the three "positions of need", which has at least some TBD support as a first round pick the following players are likely to be available at 27 Anton Harrison OT Darnell Wright OT Dawand Jones OT Jalin Hyatt WR Josh Downs WR Zay Flowers WR O'Cyrus Torrence G If we move down to the next position of need LB, the three top fan choices are all projected to be available at 27: Drew Sanders Trenton Simpson Jack Campbell
  8. <sarcasm>This is where we need to focus. Cornerback. </sarcasm> Based on NFL.com grades, NFL.com estimates 34 Cornerbacksters will be selected in the draft. 19 of these players have grades suggesting they could be selected in the first four rounds. Based on PFF grades, PFF estimates 27 Cornerbacksters will be selected in the draft. 18 of these players have rankings suggesting they could be selected in the first four rounds. There is only a small degree of overlap. 34 Different CBs are in the top 20 on one these two sites. For CB, I am limiting choices to the players who have first three round grades by one of the two sites. This limits the choices to 19. Choice 20 will be "other" The are ranked by NFL.com grade, and the relative ranking within postion for PFF for CBs shown in the right hand column.
  9. Every year we see trades where a team gives up something meaningful to move up just a couple of picks, so we all fantasize about getting who we like a little bit lower, plus something else. Separately your dozen picks theory matters by round a lot. Panthers just gave up a kings ransom to move 8 picks to 1. If they guy you like is available at pick 205, you don't make a move to go to 212, in hopes of also getting another player. I think the expected talented level at 27 is meaningful higher than the expected talent at 39. Of course different talent evaluaters may disagree by more than a dozen picks.
  10. Why do you think Jack Campbell can't be a solid starting MLB out of the box this season?
  11. Center is a position of need. Morse has probably been the best linemen for the entire Josh Allen era, but I think people tend to over rate him because they are comparing him to the low end talent we have rolled out on the rest of the line (Dawkins is better now). Center does not seem to be a position to burn 11 million of cap dollars on like the Bills are/have been doing. If a good center is available in the second or third round, it would be good to draft that person and hope they can play if Morse is injured this year, and take over the position with a rookie cap hit in 2024. Pre-2022 Season: Made Bruce Feldman's Freak's List - ranked #28. He wrote, "Tippmann is a terrific combination of strength (635-pound back squat and 455-pound bench) and athleticism, clocking a 4.31 pro agility time and a 1.65 10-yard split, which would’ve been faster than any O-lineman at the NFL combine this year." He may or may not be available at 59, but he would seem to be a good value there.
  12. Based on NFL.com grades, NFL.com estimates 9 Centers will be selected in the draft. 9 of these players have grades suggesting they could be selected in the first four rounds. Based on PFF grades, PFF estimates 9 Centers will be selected in the draft. 3 of these players have rankings suggesting they could be selected in the first four rounds. The are ranked by NFL.com grade, and the relative ranking within postion for PFF for Centers is shown in the right hand column. NOTE : NONE is a choice in this poll.
  13. Campbell had one of the best combines of any prospect in attendance. He put up elite explosive numbers — a 1.59-second 10-yard split, 37.5-inch vertical and 10-foot-8 broad — at a hefty 249 pounds. Not only that, but also he blew up the change-of-direction figures with a 6.74-second three-cone and 4.24-second shuttle. That's a well-rounded linebacker. HEIGHT: 6-4 (89%*)WEIGHT: 249 (83%*) HANDS: 10 1/4 (79%*)ARM: 31 7/8 (41%*) SPAN: 79 (90%*) FORTY: 4.65 (C) (67%*) SHUTTLE: 4.24 (C) (66%*) 10 YARD SPLIT: 1.59 (C) (70%*) VERTICAL: 37.5 (C) (85%*) BROAD JUMP: 128 (C) (96%*) THREE CONE: 6.74 (C) (96%*) BENCH PRESS: DNP He doesn't look slow, because he is actually fast.
  14. Your ruined it for all of us 😁
  15. Shamelessly posting to my own post in attempt to see if anyone else has an opinion on drafting LBs. Currently "none" is leading in the first round
  16. I did not mean to suggest Sanders is better than Campbell. I simply think the Bills management will see Sanders as a better fit for the McDefensive scheme. Just say no to Ricky Stromberg
  17. I think Drew Sanders is more likely to be selected by the bills than Campbell, if they take a linebacker at 27
  18. I cheated, but this my favorite draft so far (picked up Derrick Henry)
  19. OT is not viewed as a big need, but hoping to get some more votes to see who people like the best.
  20. Thank you. In the end, I am pretty sure we will have a plan to get Jalen Carter, JSN, and Peter Skoronski. Mr. Beane will just have to execute our plan.
  21. Part of me hates Hopkins (Hail Murrray syndrome), part of me thinks his best days are far behind him and he is a fraction of his peak talent, but mostly I think if he was in the Bills lineup that other teams need to account for him, and Gabe Davis becomes the top WR3 in the league in 2023.
