Most BILLSY thing we are about to do to end the season
Chaos replied to Drew21PA's topic in The Stadium Wall
Most Billsy thing. Score 34 or more points in each of the remaing five games Dominate time of possesion in each game. Lose two of the to fourth quarter defensive collapses. Fire Joe Brady, retain Sean McDermott. That would be the new definitiion of Billsy -
To be fair, the having a regular season made up of expected wins with no drama is actually a pretty good thing. It is just overshadowed by the mediorce playoff results.

Other than 2 above, comparing this list to the mt rushmore of defeats is one of the most depressing things I have seen this season

If we win out...what is impact on coaching decisions?
Chaos replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
McD received a big extension last off-season. The likely conversation preceding that conversation is "2023 is going to be a tough year for us due to the aging and banged up defense. Further, I really need to further evaluate Dorsey. Lets do the extension now, because fans will revolt if I am extended after the expected mediocre season". The decision has likely already been made to bring him back no matter what. To the best of my knowledge, None of Pegula, Beane, or McDermott made any public statements regarding what would be considered a successful 2023 Season. We have no idea if the Pegula/Beane expectations align with the Fans expectations or if what they are seeing on the field is expected to them. He will likely hire a DC for next season. Most likely promoting from within. -
Does that include overtime? I did not realize that number was so lopsided.

When I first read the title I thought it said: "The bottom line, its the prayers" 6 seasons in. Time has told.

Games should just end with a tie. Alternatively, just add 10 minutes to clock, and play from where things are at the end of the fourth quarter. Teams in a tie game will have to take that into account when making clock management decisions.

Poor man's Dick Jauron who lucked into the most physically gifted QB ever
Chaos replied to T.E.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
He claims to have no responsiblity for offense. He had nothing to do with developing Allen, other than start Peterman over him in his rookie season. -

Which of the following is more Billsy? Retaining Sean McDermott for 2024 Replacing Sean McDermott for 2024

34 points ought to be enough to win a game coached by a defensive guru.

But are still using injuries as a reason for failure
-
Things have gotten to a point, where before every single play on offense, defense or special teams, my thought wathcing the game is "who is going screw up this time". I don't remember feeling that way even during the drought years. Is this just me, or does every play bring you a sense of foreboding

McD failed as a DC this season. His failure is on him.

McD on late game decisions - "Hindsight is always 20/20"
Chaos replied to HomeskillitMoorman's topic in The Stadium Wall
Here is the funniest part of McDermott's inane comment. Even with hindsight he won't say he would do it differently He is just as dense in hindsight as he is in real-time. -
Douglas, Poyer, Hyde, Benford. Coach has plenty of talent in the secondary

People seem to also forget, Philly made the kick harder on themselves with Penalties than the Bills defense did. -
This all makes sense to me.

Cook didn't show up yesterday. He ran to avoid contact, rather than work for a first down, on one of his first runs from scrimmage. Cook had 16 carries yesterday. 2.7 Yards per carry. The Bills put up 34 points on Josh Allen's back. More playing time for Cook would not have changed the 34 point performance. The defense folded in the fourth quarter. People are over complicating things.

We're Going To The Playoffs. (edit: Updated - Super Bowl)

Miami is three games ahead of the Bills in the loss column. The don't need to run the table. This is the Dolphins remaining schedule Commanders (below 500) Titans (Below 500) Jets (Below 500) Cowboys (above 500) Ravens (above 500) Bills (above 500) If the Bills win 5 in a row, I would say they have a 50/50 chance to win the division.
