  1. Going into week 17, it is a near certainty, the Ravens will have clinched a playoff spot, and almost a near certainty they will have clinched the division. And somewhere around a 50/50 chance they will have the #1 seed locked up. Assuming the Bills win out, they still most likely need to win the division to advance to the playoffs. To win the division, in addition to the Bills beating the Dolphins, they need the Dolphins to lose two other games. Based on talent level, the Ravens and Cowboys are the most likely teams to beat the Dolphins. The Cowboys will be motivated to beat the Dolphins at the time they play. The Ravens may be faced with the following situation, beat the Dolphins and play the very hot Bills team (scenario is the Bills win out) as a playoff opponent. Or rest the team up and face the Dolphins as a playoff opponent. This would be an interesting decision for Harbaugh. The most speculative part of this scenario is the Bills winning out. And there is other speculation. But aside from the Bills winning out, I think this game will likely be the most critical non-Bills game left on the schedule.
  2. Ah, clever job security strategy for the HC.
  3. Bills beating Miami, and Miami losing to any two other teams is the Bills only realistic chance. You have identiified the most likely two other losses, but we can pray for upsets.
  4. This is the result of the Bills winning out, and the likely favorite winning all of the other games.

  6. Offense scored 34. Excellent performance Defense gave up 37. Crap performance
  7. Players are McDermott is put in a position to win week in and week out. Fixed it for you.
  8. Goodnight all. After more than 50 years of Bills fandom, I think the Bills have finally broken me. Its ridiculous to be as upset as I am about a stupid game.
  9. Its not a coin flip. its less than 20% likely statistically, unless the 8-3 Dolphins win only 2 more games.
  10. we only have five games left.
  11. Playoffs are out of reach, barring winning five in a row.
  12. I would like to nominate this for post of the year. (note- I bolded the parts that make this post deserve post of the year honors)
  13. Beane built a team to peak last season. It didn't work. This season was a wing and a prayer with an aging secondary and hoping ACLs tears fully recovered for a CB and your main Pass Rusher. Competent coaching might have made due with the the wing and prayer. But the Bills head coach is stale and figured out. Every team in the NFL has a 2 minute script to beat the Bills and it works every single time this year. But other than the GMs for the chiefs and the eagles. Its not clear that there are any dramactically better GMs in the league.
  14. McDermott stumbled onto the greatest combination a NFL head coach could hope for: 1) a fan base with the lowest expectations of any fanbase in the NFL due to Drought Derangement Syndrome 2) one of the best QBs in the NFL, who also happened to be on a rookie contract for a few years. That is the beginning and end of the perception of him being anything but a mid-tier NFL head coach. Situationally his defense has always been a fourth quarter with a one score lead disaster. We used to just blame Frazier.
  15. Ok. But the dumbass coach played as if he had no clue the Eagles kicker had that potential.
  16. I would like to bring Leslie Frazier back as Head coach for the rest of the season as another way of seeing just how bad McDermott is.
  17. Bills surrendered twice in this game. Once with 20 seconds left, with a time out and only needing a FG to win. Next, on third and seven driving towards a TD, the Bills should have been playing four down football and going for the TD and the win on the road. The two surrenders combined cost the Bills the game. The Good Nothing. The chances for a championship season are over. The Bad Horrible coach coached horribly. Josh Allen could have beaten the Eagles and the Refs combined, if Sean McDermott had stayed home in Buffalo. As is The Bills faced three opponents, The Eagles, the Refs, and their increasingly inept head coach. The Ugly The officiating in the first half was as bad as I have ever seen. The non-calls in the second half were tragic. The Bills as an organization won't say anything about it. They are the Washington Generals compared to the other top NFL Teams Harlem Globetrotters and won't say a thing. The ugliest thing is the bleak near term future. A bad head coach. A terrible cap situation. An over the hill defense.
  18. Please change the title of this thread to: Outlook on McDermott if the defense craps the bed again.
  19. One team has a better coach than the other team.
  20. challenge flag please
