  1. Damn they just said that Hamlin even asked who won the game. That's awesome.
  2. The possibility of the Chiefs getting 2 weeks off strikes me as.....disgusting lol.
  3. Yeah, agreed. I guess there's no perfect solution, but I don't want the game to simply be conceded. Basically the equivalent of accepting defeat and punishment for something traumatic that happened to the team. That leaves a really bad taste in my mouth, and I would hate for that to be hanging over whatever else happens regarding Hamlin, and obviously to a much lesser degree, the playoffs. It'd be pretty insulting.
  4. Really, really will dislike this solution if that's how they go. Obviously if the Bills say "We just don't want to play this game, forget the 1 seed," then maybe it's okay. I would still rather either everything be pushed a week and the game is resumed, or both teams are awarded a Win so that in theory everyone stays in the spot they were in going into the week. It'd be unique, but it would make it so that every single game being played in the last week has huge meaning. I really don't understand why they don't just go that direction.
  5. I get it, but especially this day and age with social media, I think keeping an absolutely tight ship is the best move. These things take time. Hopefully no news is good news.
  6. Highly disagree. We're barely over 24 hours removed from what happened. Along with the organization's experience with everything going on with Kim, I think this is being managed just about as best as it possibly can be for an event that had never happened before and was witnessed live internationally.
  7. Truly an incredible job from the first responders on the field. I hope they get the recognition they deserve, assuming they are comfortable with it, as well as all of the support they may need for processing such an event. It really cannot be stressed enough how their response and coordination are the only reason Hamlin is alive and has any kind of fighting chance. Remarkable stuff.
  8. Anyone know what other boards, particularly Chiefs, Bengals, Ravens, Pats boards, are saying regarding this question? Just curious if there's any overall perspective difference.
  9. I actually think if KC stepped up and said they were willing to do this, it might have a chance of happening.
  10. I don't believe he would have survived if this was a serious vascular injury. I pray that's not the case, because there was simply too much time between the hit and even just when he finally left the stadium. Being able to survive and recover from an injury like that would arguably be even more of a rare event than the occurrence of the injury itself.
  11. I get the thought, but you can't think like this. This is a incredibly specific and rare type of injury. It's really not about the hit, as this injury is classically more linked to baseball. It can even happen through general horseplay and goofing off with buddies or kids being stupid. Yeah the game is violent and has a lot of problems and these guys are putting themselves in harms way, but this was such a freak event on a rather mundane play, I just don't believe it's fair to examine the overall issue in that way.
  12. I do believe this is a valid argument/sentiment, but it's also a deeply personal decision each player has to make.
  13. Huge LOL at the thought of a solution where KC ends up getting 2 bye weeks. Absolutely not a chance. These solutions would be slightly different depending on a lot of things. What if we were a game up on KC? What if we had been winning or tied when this happened? What if we were in the position of the Ravens? It is a genuine black swan event not only in the medical/injury sense, but in its impact to the overall structure of the game and the playoffs. Assigning a double win, allowing the final week to go as scheduled (some games moved to Monday or even Tuesday), and then going from there is the most logical and sensible solution to me. Let tie breakers handle whatevershakes out depending on that in the last week for seeding.
  14. I actually think a double win would be the most fair decision possibly. It essentially keeps everyone at the same place they were entering the week, but it also keeps all the final week games relevant. The teams with the most at stake would be the ones fighting for the playoffs altogether or games where divisions were on the line. Obviously this helps the Bills compared to a tie, loss, or just not counting it at all, but in my mind keeping things in the standings as they were for these teams which were both on win streaks maintains more of the playoff structure than screws it up. Kansas City being gifted the #1 spot, along with the Bills and Bengals being punished for happening to be the 2 teams on the field for such an incident, is a deeply unfair "solution" which makes the final week of games just odd to play with. I really hope that's what is decided, and then of course that Hamlin shows some very positive signs and everyone is able to process this accordingly and move forward.
  15. It's interesting to see that ESPN has completely removed this game from the Playoff Machine. You can't even hypothetically see what would have been what.
  16. Doesn’t this have major implications on who wins the AFC North, which in turns has major implications on everything else? I really don’t see how they don’t play this somehow.
  17. Take a deep breath. Focus on what you can control. Wake up tomorrow, check for an update, and try to be the best version of yourself possible.
  18. I had actually completely forgotten about that break.
  19. Really proud of both coaches and teams for standing up for themselves and for Hamlin.
