Even if the Raiders lose today, I’d love for them to totally abuse Mahomes. I want him to really need that bye if they get it. -

Week 18: Pats at Bills, Sunday 1/8 1pm

I know. I respect the sentiment. But I think a win is a better marker of respect for a fallen teammate. Lol quite the opposite. Just saying that it'd be a very Bills thing to happen. -
I don't believe the league really had a clue about what was going on and was ready to give input until McD was on the phone with somebody in the tunnel. That was the most surprising thing to me. That there wasn't a plan. That they didn't already have protocol for what was going down. With as much as an emphasis as player safety has been lately along with just the general aspect of the game being dangerous, this surprised me. Disaster Recovery is a super common protocol to have in the tech world. Even not even getting to that point. Mitigation. Rapid response. The league seemed completely taken aback by what went down. For being one of the most powerful business institutions on the planet, it's ***** insane to me that nobody, anywhere, ever stepped up and said "Hey, we need a real plan for this, and we need it now." I'm not sure if anyone has said this just yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if Hamlin sues the league. I don't think he should sue the Bills, but the league, hell yeah, I hope he does. And he'll win or at least get a huge settlement and he'll help establish a precedent that is extremely helpful and healthy for players going forward. That's the most shocking thing about all this. This was overdue. The fact that the NFL is floundering in its reaction, unreal. High school level naivety.

Lol come on. Can you imagine if the league came out and said "We attempted to continue the game as it stood. Both the Bills and the Bengals refused. Thus, we are forced to call a no contest." Some of you need to learn a little more about PR. Or capitalism in general, I guess. I should know, I used to be the CEO of Halliburton!

if McD and Taylor had somehow decided in the moment they could have played the game, then yes, they would have. if Hamlin maybe had been loaded into the ambulance that much sooner and things on the field didn't play out as they did, they probably would have. the league did this/is doing this because it's the only thing to be done after both teams on the field as somebody died decided not to play any further. technicalities are just that. technicalities.

And then Tre gets burned for a 75 yard TD pass from Mac Jones and we lose the game by 3. -
Potential decision made for Championship Game location

I wonder if this is actually an option. From what I've heard, one of the best fan friendly stadiums in the country. Never got to see a game there during my time in the South, but damn, such a cool and fun city. As for the weather, with things as wacky as they are now it's equally likely to be 15 degrees or 55 degrees. -

Buffalo and KC are nearly the exact same distance from Indy. The Buffalo to Atlanta flying experience, combined with the Atlanta airport experience, is a clusterfück the likes of which will be told of for generations. Assuming this decision has to be made between these two locations, I just don't see how Atlanta is the choice, really for any reason at all. The only thing that could change my mind about it is if for some reason the grass/turf surface in ATL is preferred over whatever they have in Indy. God knows what kind of garbage ass fields might have to be played on with this shifting around. -
Ok so if we don't get the number 1 seed, Hamlin can come off of IR for the Super Bowl, correct? Let's gooooooooo!!!!!!!! (I'm obviously joking)

You're not wrong. On one hand, it's a good thing that the worst thing to worry about now is the logistics of a sport that is played for fun. On the other hand, had the outcome with Hamlin been more grim, I think the mood everywhere would be extremely different. Right now the vibe seems to be "oh turns out he's okay, but we (insert whatever team here) gets totally screwed!" It's unfortunate. The fact of the matter is a man, who happens to be a Buffalo Bill, died right in front of our eyes while playing a game we all love. He was fortunate enough to be revived. Had he not, things would be very, very different right now. Anyways. ***** the Chiefs and their deplorable fans. I applaud the Bengals org, but also find their fans already entitled and obnoxious. I know we have some weirdos, but damn do we seem to be the most level headed about ALL of this.

Use the line under each team to designate the winner of the game. Go from the hypothetical winner and follow their line to the next block. Raiders logo, arrow going to Pats/Bills. Suppose NE wins, curve down and left to the Balt Cinci block.

The Raiders really do have a shot at winning against the Chiefs. I know it's unlikely, based upon how those Chiefs games seemingly always go, but look at the last four games the Chiefs have won. Twice against the Broncos, the failling Seahawks, and the mighty Houston Texans. Some of those games were close and none were blowouts. The Raiders went toe to toe with San Fran and lost in overtime. They beat New England and they beat the Chargers. Granted they did lose to the Rams and Steelers, by a combined 4 point margin, both road games instead of at home. Yeah, the QB situation is obviously a factor, but from what little we've seen it does look like he's a good fit for the current system. So yeah, we know how this situation almost always plays out, but maybe this will be one of those rare occasions where it doesn't go KC's way. Depends on if the Raiders show up to play relatively mistake free football with nothing on the line but respect and the chance to screw over the Chiefs. Let's hope that's enough.

If the Dolphins make the playoffs, you have to imagine that the internal pressure to play Tua will be massive. Same with the Ravens and Lamar, as much as possible considering the status of his knee.
