    If Phillips actually needed surgery, wouldn't it make sense to uh...have him get the surgery, put him on IR already, and utilize the roster spot? I guess I won't be surprised if he's actually in that bad of shape, but it seems weird to me that they haven't yet made those moves. Maybe I missed something though.

    Most commentary right now anticipates him being out. The main Bengals blog has an article about how they should give Whitworth a call to come fill in.
