  1. So now do you want Pittsburgh to keep losing so you get the 2 seed or root for them to win out in the slim hope of getting the 1 seed via a three way tiebreaker?
  2. I think we sort of agree. $6M spread across an entire roster doesn’t come close to making up the difference between the true value of the two players. The difference would need to be at least $20M to even start a conversation. There isn’t a franchise in the league who would rather have Watson than Mahomes even when you factor in Watson’s cheaper price tag. Mahomes plus $170M in cap space to build a roster is infinitely preferable to Watson plus $176M just as Allen plus $175M is better than Mayfield plus $180M.
  3. I can see that. I’ve always been of the opinion that teams with true superstar QBs want to sign them to absurdly rich contracts, the bigger the better. It sounds counterintuitive, but here’s why. For the sake of this discussion, let’s say Allen is a truly elite guy. By that, I mean there’s a clear separation between him and a guy like Watson. You want Allen to set the market with a huge number because the next guy (Mayfield, Jackson, etc.) is going to get 90-95% of that even if they’re only 75% of the player. Mega contracts don’t crush teams with the truly elite QBs. They crush teams that have bridesmaids. $5,000,000 extra to spread around a roster doesn’t bridge the gap between what a Prescott gives you versus what a Rodgers does. For that reason, you almost can’t pay an elite QB too much.
  4. They’re going to extend him this off-season while using the 5th year option as a starting point. I see him getting a contract with an AAV somewhere between Mahomes and Watson. Something like 7 years and $300,000,000-$315,000,000 seems about right.
  5. Was the RB who went for 161 yards against Buffalo worth the pick? Yes. Yes he was. Reid has been limiting his touches since adding Bell, but he’s going to get a ton of carries and catches in the playoffs. They were in danger of grinding him into a pulp 6 games into the season.
  6. That’s really cool. Bills fans deserve moments like this.
  7. Guarantee he wanted Buffalo to lose, and that’s about the biggest complement there is. The Bills are the biggest obstacle to a Chiefs dynasty. Both franchises are stacked and will be for a long time.
  8. Mahomes’s worst passer rating game this season was 83.5. Josh has 5 games in the 70s. (Mahomes has 3 games under 80 in his entire career). When Josh is dealing, he’s as good as anyone, but he’s still got 18 combined interceptions and fumbles. Yes that’s getting nitpicky, but when you’re comparing two players having great seasons that’s what you do. Josh is having a top 4 season with Mahomes, Rodgers, and Wilson. Those are all HOFers. Pretty good company to be in...
  9. Wow! Congrats, Bills fans.
  10. Nick is pretty great, actually. I disagree with him on this one, but he’s smart as hell and is fun once you listen for a while. He’s good when you agree with him and even more fun when you don’t. It’s entertainment.
  11. He’d have walked into the EZ.
  12. Two were there. Josh just missed.
  13. Thought the same thing. This will be a great test for him.
  14. 50% of the time he plays every time.
  15. Go Buffalo !!! Do it for KC!
  16. Kansas City has won 20 of the last 21 games, but yeah...maybe they lose 3 of 4 to Ryan Fitzpatrick, Taysom Hill, and either the 4-8 Falcons or the 3-9 Chargers.
  17. As a Chiefs fan, Buffalo is easily the team with the best chance to beat us in the postseason. I expect you to beat the Steelers and possibly finish with the 2 seed in the AFC.
  18. Watson got $111,000,000 guaranteed on a 4 year deal. Josh is likely looking at something like 4/$175 or 5/$225 with $140 to $170 guaranteed. That’s perfectly manageable from a cap standpoint.
  19. He’s going to get an extension this off-season, and that will keep his cap hit low through the 2022-23 season.
  20. Teams making a run at the Super Bowl shouldn’t pay any attention to the salary cap. Kansas City had $177 of imaginary cap space before signing Mahomes and Chris Jones to $600,000,000 worth of contracts and later adding Leveon Bell. Allen will be a bargain for 2 more seasons. You should be mashing the throttle.
  21. Hard to believe such a well run organization just fired its GM.
  22. How does this make sense? The Chiefs traded up to 10 to grab him because they knew the Saints were going to take him at 11. Those two teams sure as heck weren’t starting over and rebuilding.
  23. You had me until the last line. It was a missed opportunity, but it wasn’t a blunder. Everyone talks about how that the Trail Blazers screwed up because they didn’t draft Jordan when they had the chance. Nobody talks about how the Rockets also passed on him. That’s because Houston drafted Olajuwon and Portland drafted Bowie. I don’t know if Buffalo got Olajuwon just yet, but they damn sure didn’t get Bowie.
