Denver has a bunch of guys who can get to the QB. They lead the league in sacks by a wide margin, and they’ve got an elite CB on the back end. I’m not a fan of Payton’s, but he’s got postseason experience as well. They’re no joke.

Denver is the best team in that group by a significant margin.

Coleman shows up Allen on first TD target

Not perfect examples, but Jordan famously got into fights with his teammates when he thought that they got uppity with him. https://clutchpoints.com/three-teammates-michael-jordan-walloped-with-a-haymaker Here’s a good one with Olajuwon. -

You’ve got this backwards. This is the stuff that would have got your ass kicked back in the day. Now, it’s no big deal. -
Coleman shows up Allen on first TD target

It was disrespectful, even though Coleman didn’t do it to be disrespectful. 20 years from now when there’s a documentary of Allen’s career, I could totally see an interview with Keon telling the story of the time he gestured that a throw should have been higher and then his teammates got into his ass about how you don’t show up Josh. Michael Jordan would literally have beat the kid’s ass in the locker room. -

It’s a complete non-issue, but I’ll bet anything someone pulled him aside and told him not to do it again. Diggs used to do it to Josh all the time, and that’s the first thing I thought of when I saw it live. You’d never see a rookie do that with Manning or Brady. -
If Coleman were to get 1,100 yards and 7 TDs next year, nobody would care if he did it lined up on the boundary, the slot, or the parking lot.

Amon Ra, Tyreek, Waddle, CeeDee, Godwin, Kupp, Puka… At least half of the elite WRs in the league play majority slot.

Informative article on Burrow’s discontent with the Bengals org
Billl replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s not even a consideration for someone who wants to build a competitive team. They’re valued at over $5 billion, and valuations are increasing by double digits annually. That’s virtually an unlimited source of equity to tap into. -

It’s not about being cash poor. Brown chooses to operate this way. -
Lamar had 156 yards passing week 4.

Kansas City was never taking McConkey. He’s 23 years old. Good player, but I wouldn’t expect thank you cards for letting the Chiefs take Worthy…maybe a Namaste card from One Arrowhead drive.
-
No, I don’t think he falls to 32 without the trade. Back in 2017, everyone here thought the Chiefs had been fleeced because they traded up to pick 10 for a QB that could have been had at 27. Fast forward 6 years, and Sean Payton was doing interviews about how the Saints were going to take Mahomes at pick 11. There’s no way to say for sure that Worthy would or wouldn’t have been there, but we do know that pick 28 was the first of a 7 pick stretch in which 5 WRs were taken. Whatever intelligence the Chiefs front office had must have been pretty good, and I’m inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt. When you’ve got an elite front office (which the Bills and Chiefs both do), I’m always in favor of picking your guy and doing what it takes to get him. Kansas City did that with Mahomes, Trent McDuffie, Rashee Rice, and Xavier Worthy. Buffalo did that with Josh and Dalton Kincaid (who has been disappointing but is still a decent player). When the Chiefs either stood pat or traded back, they’ve wound up with Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Skyy Moore, and Felix Anudike-Ozamah while the Bills have taken guys like Kaiir Elam, Boogie Basham, and AJ Epenesa after either trading back or getting jumped. I didn’t even like Worthy much as a prospect, but the minute we traded up for him, I was much more excited about him than I would have been if we had taken him at 32. Conversely, if the Bills were convinced that Keon Coleman was so good (and it looks like they were right), it was silly to risk losing him over something as trivial as swapping a 4th rounder for a 3rd rounder.
-
I have been impressed with Coleman. He looks like a hell of a player, and I’d whole-heartedly agree that he was better than advertised until his injury. That said, what could you have possibly expected from Worthy if 9 TDs and 750 yards of offense is less than expected? He’s been the #1 WR on the Chiefs as a 21 year old rookie. The only rookie WR who has put up demonstrably better numbers than Worthy is Brian Thomas Jr. For comparison, Dalton Kincaid and Keon Coleman have a combined 900 yards and 5 TDs. At this point, I’m not sure how DeWayne Carter even factors into the calculus. He’s a 24 year old rookie who will be lucky to make the team next year. Daniel Jeremiah (whose opinion I actually respect more that’s any other draft “expert”) had Carter ranked the highest of anyone I saw at 75th overall. Nearly everyone else had him as a 4th round pick. I’m a rival fan, so of course I love to needle y’all, but hot damn, I can’t believe Beane handed us that pick on a silver platter.
-
Buffalo didn’t really get “an additional 3rd round pick”. They moved up from pick 133 (4th round) to pick 95 (3rd round). There’s a very strong possibility that Carter would have been available at pick 133.
-
Where are you getting these numbers? Worthy has 742 yards from scrimmage and 9 TDs. Coleman has 498 and 3.
-
They did what?
-
He’s already shown that he’s far better than Levis, and he’s 3 and a half years younger. His absolute floor is Daniel Jones.

I judge young QBs by what they do well as opposed to the mistakes they make. Maye does some things you can’t teach. It’s up to the coaching staff to teach them how to make the right decisions. Maye made a ton of mistakes today, but he was a rookie playing in an extremely difficult environment against an elite team. He’s got subpar talent at basically every single offensive position, and his coach is clearly developmentally disabled. I was impressed with him.
-
Elam’s the better of the two at this point. Douglas can’t commit PI because he isn’t within arm’s length of the receiver. If Kaiir can just dial the grabbing back a quarter turn, he might get away with some of it in the playoffs where they tend to let you play a little more. Rasul was worn down by the end of last year, and he’s worn down this year.
-
The Bills played a terrible game against a terrible team. They tend to do that once a year. The difference is that they usually lose this game. All that matters is the result. I promise the Eagles and Cardinals would preferred an ugly win today. An ugly win probably sounds pretty good to the Buccaneers right about now.

Around the NFL - Week 16 (12/22/2024) (*no Bills talk, please!*)

Wouldn’t Purdy being sensible mean he demand nearly every dollar he can get? He turns 25 in a week, and he’ll have less than $3,000,000 in career earnings. We just watched Tank Dell’s knee burst into flames on the field. Go get your generational wealth while you can. Those opportunities don’t come along every day. -

For anyone who complains about McDermott, take a good look at what a legitimately poorly coached team looks like. Mayo is clueless. His players are complete idiots. There couldn’t be a bigger difference between the teams in that regard. -

Dude’s playing field position when he’s 3-11 and 15 point underdogs. He deserves to get fired.
