Which QB do you want to win the Super Bowl?
Billl replied to Joe Ferguson's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm not convinced SF ever gives him a huge contract. They may prefer to let him walk and find another game manager who can win with 99% of the cap devoted to stacking the roster around him. -
Was anyone pounding the table for Kellen Moore?

What will you do when the Bills win the Super Bowl?

Nope. You'll almost immediately start thinking about next year. Trust me. -

Begrudgingly be really happy for most of the posters here. -
Exactly. You aren't winning a shootout when the opponent had 9 20+ yard plays on 44 snaps excluding kneel downs and your team has zero on 78 plays. Buffalo was playing with fire the entire second half and got the benefit of two fumbles going their way plus a Chiefs DB breaking up a pass that would have been a gift wrapped pick 6. Both teams fumbled twice. Both teams recovered one fumble. Buffalo came away with the ball 3 times. Kansas City was daring Buffalo to push the ball downfield all night. To Brady's credit, he didn't take the bait. In the end, Josh had a clean pocket and two open receivers and came up empty. Hard to fault coaching.

I was bored last night and watched replays of the Eagles vs Buccs and Chiefs vs Bills. The Eagles were an absolute mess. They had no discipline, cohesion, etc... just a terribly coached team. The Buccaneers were better, but they were far from great. The Bills and Chiefs felt like a heavyweight prize fight. Both teams made mistakes, but they were clearly focused and well coached. The difference was striking, and as much as some fans want to deny it, the Bills are a really good team with a really good coach, but the Chiefs are an even better team with an even better coach. When you refuse to give credit to your opponents, you're always going to assume that every loss is a referendum on your own staff.

It would cost the entire draft plus next year's first and second. Even that might not get it done.
-
That might get you pick 26.

Hamlin officially wins PFWA Comeback Player of the Year

The award itself is stupid, really. -
Greg Cosell - “I don’t think they have a number 1 WR”

I think he got hurt against the Steelers and then he took several huge hits Sunday that made it worse. -

Neither AFC team had a 1000 yard receiver this year. -
Who are your top 10 QBs in the league
Billl replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is a really good list, but I would move Herbert down to around 10. -
There's no such thing as "the best fans", but there are great fan bases, and the Bills are in that group for sure.
-
The Patriots are probably a bad example to use if you're suggesting that winning championships doesn't increase the value of a franchise.
-
Let me make sure I'm following you here. The Spanos family that moved the Chargers to Los Angeles is focused on winning over profits while the Pegulas, who have kept multiple teams in Buffalo, are in it for the cash grab. Is that about the gist of it?
-
There's a lot of truth to this, but I don't think they expected him to become something more than he is. In fact, he's been much better than his draft position suggested. He's provided lowish WR2 production. In this league, that's probably $50+ million of value over his 4 year career. Meanwhile, he's earned $2 million total. Guys who out-perform their draft position and/or salary are extremely valuable even if they never develop into true difference makers. $48 million of surplus value is enormous in a league that is so salary cap driven.

Interesting stat I saw in regards to regular season losses
Billl replied to warrior9's topic in The Stadium Wall
So the only good coaches the past several years are Andy Reid, Sean McVay, and whoever was coaching Brady? -
Didn't they just return a kickoff for a TD on week 18 that basically won the division? Those plays have a lot more to do with a good special teams coach than whether a kicker chokes or not, IMO.

Ryan O'Halloran - Bills should go Defense Heavy in draft
Billl replied to BCAS Baritone's topic in The Stadium Wall
CB. Kansas City jumped them and took Trent McDuffie which then prompted Beane to trade up and grab Elam. -
Ryan O'Halloran - Bills should go Defense Heavy in draft

And because of that, he likely has to trade up. Anyone behind him looking for a WR is a threat to jump the Bills similar to what happened in the 2022 draft. -
If you think Josh demonstrated good pocket awareness here, then you're right (about it being a waste of time). I guess Josh's trust for Dawkins means that he should elect to stand in the way of a dog-walking instead of the perfect pocket. I guess I'll let the results of the play speak for itself.
-
He can't control his LT getting pushed, but he can make sure he's not standing directly in his path by availing himself of the perfect pocket.
-
That's not accurate at all. He struggled at setting the edge as a full time DE. He regularly kicks out from DT to DE on passing downs and dominates. Having pocket awareness isn't QBing in fear. It's what the great ones do. He let his LT get pushed into his lap when there was a perfect pocket available. I don't understand why people are questioning which open receiver he chose instead of asking why he didn't step into the pocket.
