I’m not blaming Josh at all. He played a great game. I think the Chiefs had a better team around Mahomes than the Bills did around Allen. Josh has a gear that no other QB other than Mahomes will ever get to, though. He’s the one guy we play and know that it’s possible to defend him perfectly and still lose.
-
Josh had a guy open short for a possible first down and a guy open deep for a possible TD. What more could a play caller possibly be asked to do?
-
There’s a better chance of Josh making the HOF and Lamar missing it than vice versa. At this point, there’s simply no way to say that Allen isn’t a top 2 QB. Arguments can be made that in any given year he didn’t produce at a top 2 level, but that’s him against the field. Burrow may have had a better three years ago, and Hurts may have had a better season two years ago, and Lamar may have had a better season last year, but on the whole Josh is easily better than all of them. 20 years from now, nobody is going to rank Lamar above Josh on the all time list. I’m a huge Lamar fan, but any list that has Lamar on it is a pretty long list.

Jalen Carter crashed a car and left the scene of a fatal car accident. He got probation and was drafted top 10 a year later. Rice was incredibly lucky that his stupidity didn’t have a worse ending. I’m not condoning his actions, nor does it make even the tiniest bit of difference what I think should happen to him. The reality is that it was a traffic accident that resulted in no major injuries. He’s got enough money to afford a competent attorney, so the odds of him seeing the inside of a jail cell are virtually nil. I realize he plays for the team that keeps winning Super Bowls so everyone here wants to pretend that the book will be thrown at him, but that’s little more than fan fiction.

Of course I wouldn’t be saying the same thing if someone was killed. There’s a pretty big difference between getting into a wreck where everyone walks away versus someone being killed. It was a stupid situation, and I’m sure he’ll face some sort of consequence, but it’s not like he’s OJ Simpson or Von Miller.
-
You’re right. TMZ is famous for understating situations rather than sensationalizing them. Those other cars rolled over and burst into flames, and there are surely injuries that fall just under the threshold of “life threatening”. Rice is going to serve prison time. This is basically Henry Ruggs part 2. 🥱

Not “any” injuries. It’s $10k and a potential loss of license if the injuries are minor which they were. Nobody is going to jail over this. Sorry to burst everyone’s bubble, but worst case scenario is probably a 4 game suspension. There’s literally video of the occupants of the cars getting out and walking away without so much as a limp.
-
Why would anyone be in custody? It was a traffic accident. There’s pictures of the drivers walking away on foot. The cars have damage, but they aren’t mangled or anything. Sounds like they were being stupid, but nobody’s getting arrested over speeding on the Dallas expressway unless they were driving impaired.

Huff might be better three years from now and it may put NY in a worse draft and cap position three year from now, but the Jets aren’t trying to win three years from now. They’re all in right now, and Reddick is a much better player today. Huff had a career year from a sack standpoint, but Reddick still had more while being a much better overall player. I’m not a huge believer in “approximate value” metrics, but Reddick was an 8 last year, and Huff was a 2. The year before, Reddick was a 15, and Huff was a 1. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HuffBr00.htm https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/R/ReddHa00.htm That said, I don’t really disagree with anything you said up until the ‘Douglas loss, Howie win’ part. Philly’s been to two Superbowls and won one in the last 6 years. They’re trying to build for the long-term. The Jets don’t have that luxury. They’re taking a rifle shot at winning now. This “trade” furthers both of their interests, IMO.
-
You’re really trying to pretend that Bryce Huff is as good as Haasan Reddick?

Kansas City has an all Pro center playing on the last year of his rookie contract. They’ve also got Trey Smith and Nick Bolton who are up for new contracts after this season as well. I don’t think they can sign all three of them. Buffalo has a need at Center and is without a third round pick. Creed and a third round in exchange for Buffalo’s first would be an interesting option, IMO.

That’s not accurate at all in terms of bing a polished product. A huge part of his draw was the fact that he was raw since he didn’t start playing football until his senior year of high school.
-
He traded up to get Kincaid just last year who turned 24 shortly after the start of the season. He’s about the same age as Gabe Davis.
-
Good for him. He’s a great player who has earned next to nothing by NFL standards. He’s also a good dude who has lived a very rough life. It’s nice to see a guy like that get a huge payday.

Just looking at the preseason Superbowl odds: 2024: +1100 2023: +900 2022: +600 2021: +1100 Vegas thinks the team has taken a small step back.

The Case for Trading Back [Discussion]
Billl replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
Given that Kansas City has jumped them the past two years and come away with Trent McDuffie and Rashee Rice, I’m not sure that trading back behind the Chiefs this year is a great strategy. -
I can’t believe anyone trades away anything for the right to sign a guy to the biggest contract in history. It’s GM malpractice.

Chiefs president floats the idea of the team leaving

Congrats on finally getting Internet access in upstate NY. You'll get better once you figure it out. -
His value is his versatility. He's not great at any specific role, but you can use him anywhere. He can play deep safety, box, and even slot corner without being a liability. IMO, he's the best overall Safety on the roster. Still think Beane adds a definitive starter, though.

By "leave" they mean moving across state line. Even that's not going to happen, but this would be like threatening to move the Bills from Buffalo to Orchard Park.
